I watch pretty much all of your videos, man. You're the best resource for TFSI engines. We all know we need the help! A lot of people want the quick answer, but learning it is much more effective... and you're a good teacher. I'm a very experienced electrical engineer, but modern automotive design is extremely complex in an area of expertise I'm no expert in. Thank you for making these videos. I really appreciate it.
Dude you are by far the best mechanic I found on RU-vid for 2.0t tfsi engine. Thank you for the detailed videos man! Keep it up. You have no idea how much help you provide to amateur mechanics like myself. Thanks man!!!!
Dude, thanks for great content. Audi owners fear working on their cars here in South Africa but you really make it informative and look easy. Thanks alot. Learnt alot and fear my car less
The best teacher for Audi TFSI in RU-vid you can find🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍 very detailed straight to the point ,, very clear, Hope someday you will make video how to replace axle flange shaft left / driver side bearing, thank you
You mentioned “if you want to see something” well I know you don’t need to do this since you pretty much can pull the motor quicker than us mortals can do an oil change.. but I’d really like to see a detailed step by step video on putting a B8 into service position, I have two projects that I’d like to do timing chain, guides and tensioner upgrades to and it would make it easier for.. if you would it would be really great.. for what I’ve seen there isn’t much on RU-vid showing this in details that you provide
I just rewatched this, wow this is a really good video on that H2O pump.. I just did mine on a ‘13 B8.5 with only 69k on it.. but I took it all off, intake, TB, fuel rail, injectors , and just wanted to make sure everything was ok, also did a carbon cleaning but wasn’t too bad.. this video is the very best on the internet to get to the entire side of the 2.0tfsi components.. this made my job easy and saved me a ton of $$$
Thanks for all you do. Really enjoy watching you work. I am new to the TSFI. Just bought a 2010 A5 and already have a CEL for the manifold. So I will be upgrading that. Would love to see some of your landscaping work. Thanks again cheers
Yes still want to see a video of your favorite tools for A4s... but back to the water pump I was noticing some pink crust so it was leaking just like how you said it does that square gasket and area by the dowel pin.. excellent video help.. love these videos
Great video man , this job it's awesome, i have also an V6 BDW to spare in my shop ,the curent one ( it's fine but it is even better to have one more just in case) ,i have said that cause i saw that V6 from Audi layin' down on your repair shop, my BDW it's aspirated and it have a HGV gear box ,130kw from 2006 with MPI (no turbo, no SuperCharged, no FSI, no TFSI) ,Quattro manual transmission , i love it , it's my baby, keep it up with that fantastic job you doing dude, you have golden hands❗❗❗🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🇩🇪🇷🇴
Hi everyone I am a new comer to the tfsi family and absolutely love these videos I just purchases a 2009 Audi A3 2.0T Quatro from a friend who was ripped off by some guys claiming to be mechanics anyway I am left with an open engine bent valves damaged timing chain and I have to change the seals on the oil filter housing and the engine oil cooler .. I’ve got most of my replacement parts already but I am realizing watching these videos that I need to get some more tools .. I would really like to see a video on oil filter housing seal change . As that will help me lots .. please if you have one let me know and any other reading material for my new project ..
Thanks, helpful. trying to figure out my coolant temp sensor, and looks like this is one of the few years its bolted to the water pump instead of that EZ PZ clip you slide on and off, so not sure wtf to do there lol.
Thank you. I have oil leak from the lower timing cover and I am unsure whether I can do it myself or not. I already did the upper one. But, I dunno whether I'll be able to take the crank pulley out.
Your video helped me a lot with this repair. I was sick at the time & freezing by the time I was wrapping it up. I brain farted & filled the throttle body hose with coolant. When I tried to start the car the next day I saw a small puff of smoke after it quit turning over. Can you tell me which parts I fried? It won’t try to turn over after that initial attempt to start.
Great video! I just got a 2011 A4 B8 2.0t quattro, and for some reason when i step on the gas pedal it has some lag before it starts getting speed, it almost feels like it could bog out. I'm use to working on B5 & B6 models, but that's about it, so this car seems almost new to me. There were no codes to go off of from vagcom until yesterday. The one code it's throwing now is "p218100 Cooling System Performance active/static". I was thinking of starting with the water pump/thermostat, if it solves the problem, perfect, if not, at least I know it's been done (and its not to expensive). There's no leaks (external) that I can see, and the car seems to hold coolant well (according to the reservoir). I've been watching a lot of your videos lately, so I can get to know the car better, since you know these cars better than anyone I know, I would love to know what your opinion is on the stalling thing. It does seem to lack power while driving i feel. I've drove a hand full of A4 B5/B6 1.8t's and they're snappy and I can hear the turbo spool... I dont hear much from the turbo, but I wasn't sure if it's just not as noticeable on the B8's. I did a test on the waste gate actuator with 20 PSI and it actuates. The plugs look good (kinda black) and no oil on the coil packs. I also put a new air filter in. I think that about all I have checked so far. Thanks again for everything, keep up the amazing work!
Thank you for this specific video and others u have made. I'm gonna do the water pump do to the Permanent code p2181. Can't pass smog with code still lingering. Hope the code goes away by replacing water pump and thermostat
Was looking for a video on doing just the thermostat without pulling the pump . I was able to do it , not much room to work , I got it done but pulling the pump would have probably taken less time .
I watch all of your videos and you’re the only person besides this Russian dude who work on Audi I really need your help I have a 2009 audi a4 2.0T Quattro and my thermostat went out on the car so I replaced it with a different water pump being that the thermostat is inside the water pump an the coolant temperature sensor is connected to the water pump as well so I put the new water pump in new coolant temperature sensor as well I turned the car on let it run and the car gets warm but the thermostat in the car goes up to high and the car overheats and it says turn car off and check coolant level but the coolant is good what should I do at first I thought it was a air pocket in the coolant line so I bleed the line but it’s still overheating I need your advice and help if you can
Great video aswell ways. Where is a good location to install a boost gauge. I have an aftermarket intake manifold ie intake manifold. I cant get a boost tap because the aftermarket manifold doesn't have that hose anymore?
Thanks man you and ecstuning prolly just saved me a grand just got it all done but it seems like the little connector grommet is leaking a bit will that stop or should i rip it all back apart and reseat it??
I’m trying to replace my water pump, having trouble getting it to seat fully onto the alignment pins while the belt is even partially on the gears. I can get on, but only without the belt on.
Dude you are really an excellent presenter and educator of Audi servicing. I love your shop and set-up, I really am envious, wish I had that kind of shop. I've been working on Audi's and VWs for long time years and kind of learned the hard way, you are teaching me a lot of tricks. Love your videos - keep them coming. Any advice on buying a 2014 A4 manual? What are some things I should be concerned with aside from the biggies like oil consumption, belt/chain (not sure what the timing device is?). I have had many Audi's I really like them, and I can do most things, except the major motor work (pistons. etc.). I'm looking at one with 95k miles - I'd be very curious of your thoughts (I love the quattro, which is why I'm considering buying one, as a winter car, not a daily driver)
Hey man, all I have is much respect for someone how has a trade skill. I know personally how much you can put into being the best in your trade. I've been trying for years, and I feel like I've gotten familiar good at what I do. I've been doing commercial electrical construction from before Y2K. So in saying that, I wonder why you haven't been putting out these type vids. You do a ton of shorts but just not the longer more in depth vids. We miss the longer funny video. And man I'm not in anyway busting balls. I was just wondering. You are the "Audi G.O.A.T" .and I'm sure you have your reasons why you do things the way you do. But if it's because of some smuck criticizing what you do...fuk em!!! But anyways ro I
I just removed the intake manifold and cleaned the all the carbon out. I replaced the fuel injectors, spark plugs and can follower. When I put everything back, I got a P2015 code. The vehicle run but has a slight sputter at idle. Do I need to replace the intake manifold now? I checked the intake manifold positioning sensor to see if it was plugged up correctly. I am at a loss now. I would appreciate any assistance. Thx
Please help. Exactly how long in mm is the screw in vídeo at 10:15? I want to make sure i put the right one back in that place beause i have 2 short screws but different lengths. Thanks
Are there 2 coolant temperature sensors? I just replaced the 1 by the water pump, and i keep having this code p18062 says to check diagnostic troubleshooting code for the memory of the ECU, what does this mean?
Could you please make a video on intake manifold runner flap, how to disassemble it for detailed cleaning. I couldn’t find any helpful content on the internet to take it apart. It will be much appreciated. Thanks
Some people say they have needed to replace the intake manifold, I haven’t ran across a bad one yet, I’ve also never cleaned an intake manifold yet. I do have extra manifolds though and I’ve swapped them out with all the wiring and injectors for quick testing though. So no I haven’t taken any of them apart and haven’t needed to for any reason. The carbon that you will be concerned with is always on the valves from what ive seen.
@@NaptownTuner You are absolutely right because when I took mine apart to clean the intake valves there wasn't much carbon deposit on the flap runners/ intake air guide flaps but the valves were a whole another story so I cleaned them with gasoline, picks and brushes with valves closed, lengthy process but cheaper than buying walnut blasting equipment. Thanks for your reply.
Never achieved anything in life. Never married. I'm 52 years old. Not much savings. No girlfriend. No kids. Still rent. Didn't pay off my car. Never tried any business. I have no friends. @@steveww07 That's what happens when you depend on other people opinions kiddo. Get out of that mindset on time. Don't worry what people think, just live your life. You don't have to prove anything to anybody. Your brain will trick you, and you may think that you do (prove something), but trust me, you don't. Just live how you want to live it. You don't have 2 lives.
I notice most videos I find have the plastic manifold. My b8.5 2.0T has an aluminum upper and plastic lower (2-piece) manifold. Do you know how many bolts you have to take out the whole manifold without separating the two pieces?
You need to check for a stuck thermostat, it’s in the water pump lower fitting, stock water pump? Doesn’t really matter just replace the pump.. some places have a lifetime warranty on them.
I’m trying to replace my water pump, having trouble getting it to seat fully onto the alignment pins while the belt is even partially on the gears. I can get on, but only without the belt on.
Might have to take the belt gear off if you can’t get it, it’s reverse thread and you might need to counter hold the engine crankshaft bolt when removing and tightening it
@@NaptownTuner I rewatched all your related vids. I just kept trying, & eventually got in back on. Thanks a bunch for these vids and your fast reply. Saved myself $1300 doing this job myself!
