No matter what you do, baby decides the way it wants to come into this world. I had an awesome pregnancy. I was super active, diligently followed all exercises every single day until 40 weeks. Also walked everyday for 30-50 minutes. , I didn't lay on my back or reclined on the couch for 9 months to make sure baby's position was right. My baby's position was right 5 days before birth but 2days prior, she decided to turn and go posterior and didn't want to turn back. So my labour was extremely painful and traumatic. Had an episiotomy and forceps birth. Having said that, because I was so active and did all the recommended exercises, I believe it helped me recover sooner than I thought. So to be mommies, don't expect a painfree delivery, it would be awesome if you end up having one but just don't be soo hopeful and then be disappointed. Continue with all exercises but also prepare for everything. I was so damn sure that my delivery would be easy after following all the exercises and an easy as pregnancy that I was super disappointed after birth thinking all the workout i did were an absolute waste.
My point is don't just rely on the exercises thinking the baby will be in the right position and you will 100% have a smooth delivery which I was expecting and kept believing. But when things didn't happen my way, I was disappointed. So please go ahead and workout which is always really good, it will help you in recovering faster which it did for me. But just mentally prepare yourself that godforbid you may not have a delivery the way you planned or thought. Just prepare for everything. Every pregnancy, birth. Postpartum baby is different. This was just my experience and thought.
@silentbliss7666 I think you missed the point of what she was trying to say. She wasn't saying to NOT do those things to prepare. She just said to make sure you leave an open-mind that even the most prepared Mom could experience the unexpected.
My second was posterior. I don’t think I did much exercise at all and I had a fairly easy uncomplicated water birth in my dining room with midwives. Everyone and every birth is different.
Thank you! This was revolutionary for me. I mean, I haven't tried it yet (haha) but it makes so much sense. I've had THREE babies sunny side up or in a poor position. Today I start helping baby 4 that's due in January!
I gave birth 3days ago, it was my first baby your videos and practice, as well as the advice and guidance of my midwife helped me a lot, to control my breath and deliver fast and as easy as possible... didn't even get an epidural... Keep up the good work! I look forward to practice the postpartum series! Best wishes from Athens Greece!
It's a grace but I have to thank God for his work in my life. I've been trying to get pregnant for 9 years and today I'm pregnant with a little boy thanks to a very effective trick. I know it can help you too because it worked for me oh
Love this! My homebirth midwife did home visits for our prenatal appts, and she told me this info when I was pregnant with my 2nd! Struggled with a LONG 1st labor and bad baby position, so with my 2nd and 3rd I was careful to be more mindful about sitting on my couch especially and my deliveries went much better 🤍
@@shmiZlaABandini true, they usually do. But when your provider confirms for you the first baby was in a poor position, and subsequent kids were in an ideal position and directly on my cervix, I don’t think it’s a coincidence.
My third child was Sunny side up. Terrible labor and birth. Wish I knew back then that a midwife could have given me guidance on things to prevent these problems and how to have an easier delivery. OBGYN’s should teach moms and give resources information.
This happened to me, having my 3rd baby. And i also knew about this info but i still sat on the couch in not the ideal position because i was so comfortable 😩, and yes my son was hard to come out, he was in posterior position, trying to turn the correct way each time i was contracting. It was the most painful labour from my other 2 births and i chose to labour with no pain relief like my other two births as well. But he came out with no problems, he was healthy and happy 😁👍.
I wish I would've known this when I was pregnant, he came sunny side up and I had to be cut 😭😭😭 but I still did it natural thanks to your videos. I think you're so wonderful and I recommend you to everyone.
Thank you for making this video. Baby hasn't let me sit leaning back on the couch since about 6 weeks and everyone keeps telling me I'm just being picky and doesn't want to spend time with them on couch. I keep telling them it's physically uncomfortable and the baby keeps kicking me now that he's bigger. Now I have an actual video to show people. My baby has been right all along, just have good posture and he won't kick me in the ribs. 😂
Traditionally in Indian toilets we had no option but to sit in that squat position for all our business. I have never known of C Sections in my grandparents generations or among my aunts (I have 9 direct aunts and about 50 aunts who are my mom's cousins or their wives and everyone had normal delivery for all their kids), older cousins, neighbors or other women around me. They had to sit in that position few times a day. But western toilets have rapidly replaced Indian style toilets in the past 10 years in all houses and I see some of my younger cousins wives having C Sections these days. I know lifestyle changes have contributed too but I strongly believe one of the strong reasons are these toilet positions.
When I was pregnant I was trying to constantly sit this way, often on the ball. I eventually got really stressed about it and I remember one morning I woke up, I was 4 days past my due date and I just let myself relax on the couch and I almost cried of relief! My baby ended up being breech and the doctor didn’t catch it until after 10 hours of active labor! I hope the next time around this works for me but that I can give myself permission to relax too 😅
Oh my goodness! That makes me want to just give you a big hug 💞 I’m sorry it made you feel like you couldn’t relax. It’s all about balance. I think I just meant to bring attention to it as many women spend 8+ hours/day sitting like this. Thanks for sharing
@@PregnancyandPostpartumTV oh yes I’m so glad you do share helpful information like this! I definitely have a tendency to put pressure on myself to do everything perfectly (which motherhood is surely testing that and teaching me to let go 😅) You’re right balance is so important. I so appreciate all the info and exercises you work hard to put out there for us!!
I feel this! It was so uncomfortable at first, but I’m like I’d rather be uncomfortable now and be able to sit back when baby comes than regret not trying. I miss reclining though 🥲 I’m 37 weeks
I’m 35 weeks and I’m not saying the video is wrong yet I will say ladies learn your body for yourself. What works for one doesn’t work for another. All deliveries aren’t going to be same. The way you sit depends on your spinal cord, weight and many other factors. Please remember to always check with your OBGYN. This my first and I sit sometimes in these positions and have been whole time. My baby is in proper position and I just did an my last ultrasound Friday. Learn your bodies and talk with your doctor always before following somebody else’s instructions on these platforms.
@@voicesoftheunderground6957 yes, i delivered one week ago and I was sitting most of the pregnancy, not walking much….. i delivered naturally with epidural, everything was fine
Thank for you for the information! I sit a desk all day and ending my first trimester. These tips help me prepare and hold strength so at the end of the road my body is ready. You are creating a positive birthing culture which is so critical in times where there are so many trauma stories on one of the most natural and beautiful experiences a woman can have. I really appreciate it :)
I tried everything but i cant. My belly is not big so baby have to fit somewhere. He is really low but still kicking me to the ribs and i just cant sit any possible way. And sitting so straigth is really exhausting because of my heavy chest. I have to just stand or lay down. I hope birth will be okay…
I must say I agree with the tailbone portion of the video. My first child I sat on my tailbone a lot and even post-baby five years later I have coccydynia and I have to get steroid injections once a year. I'm currently 12 weeks along with twins and I'm trying to sit slightly more forward as she demonstrated
Is necessary to be careful of how i seat during the whole pregnancy or for example the last two months? I know it's better position for the body eithewish but when it won't be so late to correct my seat position?
From what week is it ideal to sit like this?! Also can I sit on a birthing ball instead of my chair to force me sitting upright? I got an office job..being sitted like this about 8hrs a day!!!
How would I do this on a bed? Only place for me to sit is a bed, dining chair, or ground we don’t have a couch. Most of my sitting time is on a bed like when I’m watching tv or resting.
I wish I had seen this two years ago. My last guy was a c-section and I can tell you I was so sick all I could do was sit around. My recovery from the surgery has been awful.
I’ve had 3/3 sunny side up babies! 😅 I tried your videos for getting Baby in an optimal position with the third, and he just ended up sunny side up with a triple nuchal cord. Going to keep up with the videos again for baby number 4 and cross my fingers! Having a yoga ball for the full pregnancy this time around should help too.
@@junjoonhazarika98 With the number of unpleasant people like you in the world, I’m happy to be repopulating the world with some decent human beings. 😘
@@kyrraspiess7262 we read a number of theories since childhood related to population, population control, our planet and it's growing burden..... Why??? Countries that have limited the no of births are all foolish according to you? One lion is enough than 100 jackals.... There goes a quote like this. It's not about being pleasant or unpleasant.. It's about caring for our planet!! U won't understand I think.
I'm 36 weeks with my 3rd child and I been feeling alot of pressure and discomfort in my pelvic area due to baby being so engaged in my pelvis and sitting slight back rather than straight up feels alot more comfortable so not sure how accurate this info is for all women.
Our grannies didn't have all these instructions, no scans and yet the hard the safest natural birth delivery at home not even in the hospital. Some will tell you always lie on your left but it could be that lying on both sides either is equally good.
God who they prayed to is strong. Blessed are Those who love Jesus Christ. My great grandmother had 9 at home, she loves God. She still cooks and cleans she is 102. God bless that woman. I need to go see her so bad 😭
If I am in a sitting position this is the only way I can sit 😩 My back will kill me otherwise which also causes me nausea. I’m 35 weeks currently and I’ve been sitting this way my entire pregnancy due to the immediate back pain I feel if I don’t have enough back support. I will say though that I had an ultrasound not too long ago and baby was definitely head down.
I slouched and laid back on the couch a lot and not knowing at the time but now I swear this is why my baby was breech. I tried everything to flip him but he wouldn't budge. Next baby I am sitting on a birthing ball as much as possible!
I was wondering how about sitting the way you are at the end of the video ( we called it the tailor position in my language). This is usually my most comfortable position, but wondering if it's bad just like crossed legged. Thanks :)
Sadly my work does not offer that type of chair to be able to go on that position squat i do it not carious times a day because i do the barbell stronglifting back squat so it increases my strength on my muscles and so far so good.
Hey. Squats agitate them but if i do them with my feet facing outwards and squeeze my butt a bit I can do a limited squat for all out 30 seconds. I wipe (or simply press lightly on the area) with witch Hazel loaded up on my tissue paper. I seldom do squats if I haven’t already done a bowel movement for the day. If we have not done a bm I will squat only if the hemorrhoid is not as inflamed.
I wonder if you have any tips for out and about. Places like church or college in which we sit for extended periods of time but cannot do anything out of the ordinary in our chairs. What can I bring to help me through and help me sit up for that long?
I used to sit in the couch in this position throughout my pregnancy. And i had a sunnyside up delivery. It was very painful and epidural didnt work. Also 5 stiches episotomy. Better avoid slouching ladies..
I spent my time on my yoga ball during pregnancy and my baby still was sunny side up- ( except they only found out during my emergency c-section- contractions were extremely painful in my back, labour lasted 18 hours, dilation didn´t progress and my 2 epidurals didn´t help and no one had any idea why until the c-section). So I would say it doesn´t guarantee baby will be in the right position.
@@PregnancyandPostpartumTV Speaking for myself, no worries at all! Sometimes we can do all the right things and it doesn't work out how we expected. Birth is very sensitive and sometimes takes time to process. I leaned forward for much of my 2nd pregnancy and he still came out a stargazer lol but my midwife thinks it's a bone structure thing with me! Thank you for all your content 🙏
Well my baby was completely favorable until the day of birth, apparently, so I don’t think I did anything wrong. It think it was just bad luck. He didn’t come out and I had to have a c-section after 4 hours of pushing in various positions and attempts to move him. 😣
Thank you for the video! I am 5 months with my first baby and I just want to know all the tips I can before the birth! Also ... Where do you shop for you outfits! I love the all brown🤎!
In third trimester it's more important :) So it's a little early (although good posture never hurts!) Also, you want to think of what you are doing the majority of the time ...it's not a "100% avoid" suggestion💞
I might need a planned c-section, but it's not for sure yet. Still hoping my placenta will move and I could have a natural birth this time so 28 weeks might be a good time to get that ball out again and I love malasana pose ❤️ I probably was crossing my legs too much earlier on in this pregnancy as I've got varicose veins on my left leg 🙈
Good luck! I am currently 31w 3d. I also had placenta previa (placenta blocking the cervix), which was first noticed on an ultrasound around 14 weeks, but thankfully it finally moved up, as of my 30 week scan. It's now just a low-lying placenta (1cm away from the cervix), but hopefully it should continue moving further up, as my uterus expands. I hope your placenta also moves up! :)
@@letitiad8440 Thank you! My placenta moved a few mm and was 1cm from the birth canal last time when I had it checked 3 weeks ago, but there was a possibility of placenta ingrowing into a scar from my previous c-section so I had more check ups and now just waiting for the appointment so I'll find out more if everything is going the right way 🤞🏻 Good luck to you too. I hope everything goes well for you and the baby ❤️
This had happened with my first- my placenta was low and I thought I would need a c- section. I went to the c- section class at my local hospital and that made me so much more worried about it! Luckily mine moved before- so many weeks, can't remember when and I gave birth vaginally, though he was on his side. Hope yours goes well either way!
My son hates when I sit up like that because it shoves him into the front (and my placenta) and down. He is much more active, and happy if Im reclined a bit.
I tried to sit up straight as much as possible but I had to be comfortable too. Baby is still in the perfect position, but I am showing signs of weak pelvic floor ☹️
Your body has a way of telling you it's uncomfortable This woman is so wrong To this woman you're doing everything wrong Existing wrong You're living wrong You're sitting wrong you're breathing wrong You're wrong altogether Do what you want your body will tell you if you're uncomfortable or not I sit like this and I'm perfectly fine
Sweet, thank you! I just got a ball to use instead of my desk chair at work and I squat all the time. I always thought I was just a weirdo but that’s what my body wants me to do, and maybe it’s been for a reason 😅
It's a grace but I have to thank God for his work in my life. I've been trying to get pregnant for 9 years and today I'm pregnant with a little boy thanks to a very effective trick. I know it can help you too because it worked for me oh
Hard to say that THIS was the cause as so many factors contribute to birth. However having a posterior baby is one of the things that can cause increased pain, a longer labor and increase need for interventions. Sending you a big hug ❤️
Honestly this is all well and good but when you’re 12 million months pregnant and not allowed to recline or sit comfortably because of this or that it just becomes completely unrealistic. There is a rule for every single thing in pregnancy until as a mother you feel completely suffocated and paralyzed. If you aren’t perfect in every way then something terrible will happen, you won’t be able to birth etc etc etc. It’s become completely ridiculous.
My midi wife is not give me courage at all,I am spotting at 11 and 12 weeks of my pregnancy, anytime I called the first word she always use is abortion, I am pray to God 4help,this is my first pregnancy so scared
