When you feel the baby coming don't push until you feel the labour pain . If you push without feeling the pain you will tear. I think it don't depend on if you workout or not. It's about doing the most you can to avoid tearing. These tips are very good. Also if you can avoid the anesthesia. That way you push with the contractions not only when the doctor says. I've seen videos where they're screaming at the mom to push while she's on her back and then she tears. It's horrible. I think you should be the one to know how hard you should push and when. The doctors are there to guide only but if you don't have too much feeling you may overly trust the people around you saying harder "harder". One midwife told me not to push that I had to do it slower but I felt I had to push a bit harder so I did and my baby was born and she still said I pushed my baby slowly. I also applied olive oil every day after shower all over my body including the vulva. I think the more things you consciously do with a purpose the more chances you will feel confident that you will succeed. My first baby I had level one tear and it was really nothing and the second time nothing at all. Let's see the third time. I also get alot of opportunity to move alot during labor. For first and second pregnancy I monitored that I didn't go over the recommended weight gain so my babies were born 3 kilos. This time I'm not really monitoring but it seems about the same. My only exercise is walking and prenatal pilates from time to time. Food quality and water is super important.

Hi I am 36 weeks and also conscious of tearing FTM by the way and the doctor said my baby is a little bigger for my size because he takes after his daddy. I am anxious and nervous. I also haven't decided yet if I'll get the epidural but I also don't wanna tear a lot. But you mentioned olive oil so I am curious. So any olive oil will do even the ones we use to cook?

Squatting is great umbilical difficulty, you can allow the people assisting you to see the issues at hand greatly. Side laying is amazing for exhausting and if it’s long labor. Acupuncturists can help in third trimester a lot with non needling techniques to prepare baby for head down exit! I had both my babies with no tearing’ ❤❤❤

With my first birth, I was just anxious to get my baby out that I pushed too hard. I tore my clitoral hood, which is a pretty rare type of tear. It was extremely painful to get stiches and took a long time to heal. I'm currently pregnant with my second so I'm hoping to push a little slower and do all that you recommended. Thanks so much for your video.

@@itti-xi9uv hello there! I actually still had a second degree tear this time with my second baby too. So unfortunately still had perineal damage despite doing massage but it could have been positioning. Most of my labor I was up and about but the final pushing the midwife rolled me over on my back which I was kind of annoyed about but there was a lot going on lol. However, this labor and recovery was miraculously easier (only five hours) than my first because of all the other prep I had done and labor things I did, and I also had a doula.

I also think it’s selfish to put our comments like this considering there’s first time moms who look at comments like this and head into the birthing experience with negative mindsets. I sincerely hope you actually do the correct process this time around and have a very healthy and smooth delivery with no tears etc .

I ended up with vaginal wall tears and I was only allowed to be on my back. I’m two months postpartum and I’m still bleeding. I wish I would have tore on the outside rather the inside.

I wanted to share that here in Spain they can inject you more of the hormone that you're naturally producing that makes you dilate in birth, I think its called oxytocin. Maybe you can ask your doctor if they can use it on you:) They do this to avoid long labors (which are a lot more dangerous for the mom and the baby) and to prevent tearing
@cintiamonteiro5287

if they do it in Spain , probably they do it also in Portugal, I'm more tranquila now

Its called pitocin when it’s the medicine used to induce labor, and aside from causing stronger and more painful labor contractions, it can cause complications during labor. 50% of inductions end in c-section. Long labors are NOT more dangerous if everything is progressing steadily and the mom is kept hydrated and is given the necessary electrolytes for energy. The average natural labor is 14hrs long. The problem is that doctors don’t like to wait that long, that’s why they intervene.

@@melindamercier6811 also I was begging for a csection when I was induced and my water was leaking. They let me labor for 3 whole damn days and didn’t even realize my water wasn’t fully popped even tho I told them to check cus it’s a slow leak 🤦🏻‍♀️ then with my daughter I was in labor for 17 hours. Both times I had to be induced cus my body doesn’t progress naturally on its own unless my water is fully broken.

All of the positions would not be possible. You'll basically be paralyzed from mid back and down. However if you ask for a lower dose epidural then you may still have some movement and may still feel some of the things she is talking about.
@rachel2027
@rachel2027 3 года назад
Some places will do a “walking epidural” where you get lower doses of the medications and can still feel contractions and move around better.

If you have an epidural the hospital won't let you use other positions. They make you stay on the bed on your back.
@melindamercier6811
@melindamercier6811 3 года назад
If you have an epidural, you have no control over whether you tear or not because you cannot feel the stretch, so the position doesn’t necessarily matter as much. This is aimed more toward natural births.

Not true for all hospitals. My OB who will deliver the baby said I can be on my side leg elevated, or on all fours with my epidural. My support person (husband) will help. It's just more difficult.
