Great info Joe! The gcf from last night's trilogy group post is my go to. I had never thought about saving the log file. The way you explained why you should do so makes perfect sense now, and i will be adding it to the folder! I've now pre built like 10-15 different 60' attempt configs so when we get back to the track, I can simply read conditions, load what I think the surface will take and probably miss by a mile!!😂 To anyone watching, if you are new to any of the Holley systems I strongly suggest enrolling in Tune The Trilogy!! The time you're going to save familiarizing yourself with the system far outweighs the cost!

Ha, ha.. I was tempted. Still have mine and everything I need to switch back in about two hours.. But I finally have my efi running right. I really love the ability to change timing on the fly and fuel without worrying about dropping a jet on the ground and having it disappear. 🙌

Joe, I have a better idea for saving "Default" tune ups for you AND your customers that you assist. When you have that default tune up established, go into the "saved files" directory and find that default file. Right click on it, select "Properties." Now, you should see a menu...look for the "Attributes" row near the bottom. There should be an option called: "Read Only." Check that block and click apply. Now, the software/user/customer cant save any adjustments made to that file/tune up and they will be FORCED to save any changes to a different name. If they need to go back, they just reload the default tune you/they already have. You can thank me later for the misery I saved you and your customers and its very easy for the customer to get out of a bind if they go to deep in one direction and make the tune up worse. :)

I was thinking the exact same thing, read only to prevent changes. Glad you mentioned this, I had to do this for work years ago on excel spread sheets that got passed around to other employees. Not totally fool proof but almost. I had some idiot copy my work open in new file, paste, edit, name it same as my original, and then pass it on. Good thing I had the original with time stamp to show my work. Key is always show your work. It was important in second grade and to this day.

You talked about bad IAC numbers and replacing it. I did that. Had a broken engine mount, letting the engine rise up, and a spark plug wire was hitting my wiper motor. MOPAR LA engine in a 69 A-Body. Giving a very weak spark to one cylinder. There was nothing wrong with the IAC! Lesion learned.

this video describes almost exactly what happened to my sniper efi. I love the car a 1969 Pontiac grand prix and wasn't really happy about the car almost stranding me on the road. the repair shop says the sensor is bad which from watching videos I thought might be the issue. I called Holley tech support, and they thought the same. I mentioned that engineering should design the system so if something fails it should default to a safe operating condition, so we end users don't get stranded. Holley says it can be done but didn't go into detail on how to do it. you touched on it and I asked my repair tech if he could do it but I wasn't real confident with his reply. do you have a tech support number, or could I send that sd card to you to fine tune the settings? jim d

Great info. However, when using save global file as , I went back to open and would not open with Adobe. What are people using to open the file?
@JoeSimpsonAtTempest
@JoeSimpsonAtTempest 10 месяцев назад
I’m confused, why would you open a Holley file with adobe? Go into the Holley software go to open global file then click on the file that you saved. Adobe is not capable of opening a Holley file you can only open it with the Holley software

Hey there new to your. Handel as I just got the Holley terminator x…..sometimes my iac will be at 100% at idle,that will obviously mess with my tps sensor,correct.?…..will this mess with my a/f as well,?…got a tiny stumble when touching the fuel and my a/f will spike and go red,like 20 and up,I’ve seen 35….what do u think?
@JoeSimpsonAtTempest
@JoeSimpsonAtTempest 11 месяцев назад
None of that has anything to do with the iac being at 100. It’s at 100 either because your idle set screw is not adjusted correctly or because it’s running bad and trying to shut off

My map sensor reads off the scale on the low side and high side. Is this common for a 1bar on naturally aspirated builds?

Joe, I drove the car about 75 miles over the weekend and the engine stalled a few times right in the middle of driving. It felt as if the fuel was limited because as long as I pumped the gas pedal it kept running but it did run rough. then it cleared up itself. how do I troubleshoot this condition?

I don't understand half the termonology, Learning curve is way over my head. I was told this was plug and play. I'm only getting 4.5 miles to the gallon. It is a 440 mopar, But this isn't my first rodeo. I've built 6 hot rods, and used the Mallery Uni lite dist. Had a Chevelle that did 0-60 in 3 seconds. And got 25 MPG normal driving. This thing is idle to shit and git and no in between.

There is no "Learn". Also, your explaination is hurried and clear as mud. Holley should give up on the Sniper before it totally ruins the company's reputation.
