Always remember to keep left on a bend that goes to the right to improve your view of oncoming cars and their view of you, and doing so also increases the gap between you and oncoming cars a bit more. On a country rural road it's ok to be a little more central in your lane in case there are pedestrians walking towards you. Good video, very helpful.
@TheISMNationwide.. i honestly have no words to thank you for such a usefull video.... You made this video for learners to get benefit of.... Its really very usefull for the beginners..... This is the highiest possibility to make someone understand..... Thanks aload....... God bless you..
Hi Annergize you should watch our video number 3. ISM Driving Guide - Overtaking & Parking. This shows you correctly how to overtake parked vehicles. All the Best from everyone at ISM.
When turning into a new road that has an obstruction. Would you tell your students to always try to still turn into your own lane first, then move out because of the obstruction, or is it ok to directly turn into the other side of the road to show anticipation? What if there's a continuous white line in the center at the beginning of the road? Would this qualify as an exception because I want to avoid an obstruction ahead?
Hi ISM i got told off for letting student shift the car into first gear when it was rolling or before stopping there is something wrong, the testers change the rules i cant get any answers from THE RSA i done the instructor coarse with pat west in cork, if they pull the hand break to secure the car for a few seconds while waiting in traffic or at a roundabouts thats a fail tomorrow its something different
I failed my test because I didn't stay to the left on the right hand lane although both were going to the same place and I did eventually move to the left but apparently that's a serious.
@1:58 Ive never in my life seen two cars turning right, pass each other on the driver side. That's just asking for a collision and is unsafe. There's always plenty of room and vision to stay to the right.
sounds stupid but when he says mirror signal side mirror, which mirror did he check first? If you're turning left do you check the right side mirror and signal and then the left side mirror?
Actually, to achieve full design capacity of a road, we have to break the 'two second rule' (while still achieving a gap of full Highway Code stopping distance). A lot of people do this a lot of the time. It applies at speeds below about 30. At speeds over 60 (mph!) then it is sensible to aim for a 3-second gap, which at 70 is the distance between 100 metre motorway marker posts. Two seconds is a good guide, but "Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men (and women)"
You're wrong, Alex. The rule is that vehicles may not enter a box junction unless their exit from the junction is clear (or, if turning, to await a gap in the oncoming traffic flow). In this case, both conditions are fulfilled: the exit road to the right is clear; "our" vehicle is allowed to enter the box to await a break in the oncoming traffic flow. So no fail.
