Very good video. I have only one issue: the driver does not indicate left before leaving mini roundabouts. (I spotted 2 occasions in the video where there was no left signal leaving the roundabout.) This is a fault. We are supposed to treat mini roundabouts the same as any other roundabout, although there is some leeway if its very tight involving a lot of steering. In this case, steering takes priority. However, a Senior Examiner told me that, if you are driving slowly enough in the mini roundabout, it should not be an issue.
He is driving to close to the vehicle in front of him when stopping, he needs to leave space so that he can see vehicles rear tyres at least..but anyway good video!
He shouldn’t have came to the test alone thats illegal he should be accompanied by a holder of a full license for a minimum of two years to the driving test ops !!!
Same here....I did my test over 10 years ago & this is where I learned the most. I watched the 15 videos over and over again. In those days you didn't "have" to book lessons and I can thank this series of videos mainly for getting me through to pass the test. Good luck with your training!
Things are moving on it would seem. . This is from a country that once gave full driving licences to people who never did a driving test in their lives and some people who never drove at all. I knew many. Shameful and highly embarrassing.
The big hypocrisy is that they the examiners themselves don't observe all the rule when driving and no one is watching them and yet they are quick to fail you on few errors.
This is rich coming from a country that once gave full driving licences to people who never did a driving test in their lives and some of them never drove a car ever. True.

Do not rent your car from Avis, they scam you into buying their car insurance coverage which almost doubles the price of the rental. We have used Hertz in several EU countries and they let you use your existing car insurance on your car rental, no extra chargers like Avis.
Well spotted but "not required if no other vehicles will benefit from your signal". In other words & in this situation if there is no other car behind you. The same applies to ANY use of indicators. If no other drivers around, no need to indicate.
3:36 Everything looks and sounds all right with checking the levels of fluids. With one annotation...They never teach that: The vehicle itself should be on a levelled ground(won't move without brakes or gears applied) and should have an engine cold. 5:21 At this position of the vehicle in reference to the sun you don't need your sun visor down...
Hi Gavan. Passed my test yesterday and it was thanks almost entirely to your videos. They have just the right amount of information and don’t over-complicate things. Passed with 4 grade 2’s. Thanks a million!
This video and the driver is the best. Have been doing driving test since 2008 watched several video and bought number of dvd drive test they were never helpful. I started watching this video 16 days to my test. Yesterday I passed my full licence test with the help of this video and the driver. He is a very good instructor. He knows how to explain about driving in details if you follow his instructions. Thank you man. I really appreciate you. I wish I know his name.
I'm an American watching to acclimate to driving on the "wrong side" in your lovely country. ;) One thing I have yet to see in a video: right side cars pedals from left to right are clutch, brake, and accelerator. Are they the opposite for left-side vehicles?
No they are the same thankfully, that would be very confusing! Only thing to get used to really is the gearstick on the other side. I didn't think many people in America drove manual/stick, in case you're unaware you'd be able to buy/rent an automatic here easily, they're becoming more and more common
@@mrjackbenny thanks! I'm glad it's not THAT different. Yes not many Americans can drive a manual, I can because my wife's first car was manual, handed down from her frugal sister. Her second car was manual as well so we've had about 16 years with one until about 12 years ago. I hear you can rent auto transmission in Ireland but it's still more expensive. I live near Chicago but I have relatives in Indianapolis which is fortunate for Irish driving as well, as the mayor of Carmel a north suburb fell in love with roundabouts and Carmel has about 150 of them now so I'm used to those too. Granted the very center of Indianapolis has always had one with a beautiful Soldiers and Sailors monument, but everyone goes slower around that one than a normal roundabout. I'll be in Ireland this September and very much looking forward to it!
@@timmmahhhh I've just gone down a Wikipedia rabbit hole about roundabouts in Carmel Indiana but quite enjoyed haha so thank you! I hope Ireland is good to you whatever you decide to drive. This video was filmed around Dublin, despite being from here I'd recommend heading to the West of Ireland when you're visiting; more interesting towns, dramatic scenery, a bit of a more authentic Irish experience I'd say
@@mrjackbenny thanks, our plan is to spend a few days in Dublin then head south then west and north to Galway, then back to Dublin. The next trip we'll look at going to Donegal where my mother's family is from, and Northern Ireland.
