Gotta admire his talent of improvisation. Made an entire 3 minute show about saying "fuck you" to a terrible boss and got the crowd to sing it along with him. To call him a clown is a disservice, I’d say he’s a full fledged celebrity. Only Alex Brightman is fit for this role
I'm not sure if anyone has taken note of it yet, but I personally believe this video also shows Blitz's Marksmanship. He was able to shoot a moving target (the dog demon humping Fizz, while Fizz was swinging at an undetermined speed on a trapeze), without accidentally shooting Fizz or someone else. I don't think Blitz gets enough credit when it comes to his marksmanship in comparison to his skills with blades.
Fun fact: All the demons of the crowd were wearing merchandise with the "$" symbol or the "M" of Mammon, but the mute kid is the only one wearing a shirt with Fizzarolli's face on it. I love those little details!
Another fun fact: Valentino from Hazbin Hotel owns a Fizzy doll that is customized for him. The doll in the show is more like a personal robot maid for him rather than a s*x toy. I think the fizzy doll that Val has is named “kitty” since he refers to it as such, but idk.
Fizz walking away from Mammon and his abuse was monumental. Just like Angel standing up to Valentino to protect Niffty. I hope to see a lot more character growth next season!
My absolute favorite thing about this is seeing Mammon clearly enjoying the song right up until he FINALLY realizes that the whole thing is Fizz's resignation and that he is being slandered. 😂
They say, "People don't quit bad jobs. They quit bad bosses." This song proves this to be this to be true in his case. He didn't really care about the whole merchandising. He loved performing, but Mammon was abusive and manipulative, so he felt like he had to be a perfect version of himself because that's what Mammon wanted him to be. I was afraid that I'd hate his singing voice as rough as it is, but it was amazingly well balanced. And saying Fuck You to a bad boss always feels great. Even when it's not you or your bad boss.
I love how in the whole 1:53-2:09 sequence, the circle of sin changes from Mammon's to Ozzie's, symbolizing how Fizz is going from one Sin that abuses and exploits him towards one that loves and supports him-just as Asmodeus helps with his boyfriend's performance and gets excited over watching him.
Alex Brightman making that rough character voice still sound incredible while singing just shows how little is by accident and how much is hard work resulting in absolute control.
Performing a 3-minutes long song called 2-Minutes Notice and starts resigning at 1:00 is a power move. Also, this is such quintessential 2000s punk rock anthem.
Another detail like this is how in 'Ozzie's' when stolas says he'll be ready in 20 it takes him exactly 20 seconds to get ready and arrive in the lust ring
Everyone talking about how this was all improv’d, but imagine if Fizz just composed this while drunk and angry, and Ozzie saved it for an occasion such as this, like “Hey, you might not remember cuz you were shitfaced, but you wrote your letter of resignation, and it’s actually a great song.”
Eh I think it was 100% improvised. Fizz is known to be an amazing entertainer and I have no doubt he didn't just make it up as he went using everything he's been wanting to say. There might have been some pre-planning for props or maybe Ozzie conjured everything Fizz needed as they went, but there was no rehersal or written script. Just a demon finally gaining the courage and support to tell off his manipulative boss once and for all in the most amazing fashion ever, while loving every minute of it.
A better "I quit" song doesn't exist. I love how it starts out slowly, Fizz recounting his abuse over the last 10 years before the chorus comes in and he completely tells Mammon off without him realizing it until the very end. It's so satisfying to to see Fizz stand up to and completely cut ties with him, the animation and choreography are beautiful, and of course, Alex Brightman's vocals are amazing. It's the best song in the episode, and a perfect final performance for the greatest showman in Hell.
Me resisting the urge to email this to my previous boss/other managers and owner of the company i worked at previously. Quit in September, well kinda August...well checked out in July when my boss found out when he got a letter in the mail regarding security clearance for me lmao. He is in fact Mammon.
I like how the whole song seems to be Fizz building himself up to the "Mammon! You sad sack of shit!" moment, like he's reminding himself of all the abuse he's suffered and finally breaking away from Mammon.
I love that Blitz comes to rescue right during the line "Too late to apologize". Like it's too late for Mammon, but it never was for Blitz. Such a great juxtaposition!
Also in "look at this" when Blitzø says "I'm gonna need another 60 seconds" that's exactly how long it took for him to set up the TNT, and in S1E7 when Stolas says "I can be ready in 20" it takes him exactly 20 seconds to be ready
They aren't moral support, Ozzy is actively providing many of the effects, the blue smoke and fire. And Blitzo is providing support with a sniper rifle. That's active participation and support, moral support means just watching.
@@Hevensdragon I found it really important to notice that while we know Fizz is justifiably terrified of fire, he has 0 fear of Ozzy's blue flames both in his act and immediately after when Ozzy goes full protect mode
1:54 I love how during the part where Asmodeus gives him moral support and support with his performance, the sigils temporarily switch from Mammon to Asmodeus.
For those saying this was an improv song, clearly you've never had a boss like Mammon. This is a song that basicaly builds in the heart of anyone who's being abused in ANY way, sadly it's just seldom ever used. But this builds due to the abuse. It's just that with Ozzie and Blitz as his support, he has a strong enough support group to back him as he leaves a very bad and toxic situation. Honestly I think this rings for a lot of people who need to hear it, myself included. People going through abuse NEED a support group like Ozzie and Blitz and that's what I think this whole thing is about. For years, Fizz put up with Mammon's abuse and has always wanted to say this but been too afraid because he felt trapped. So day after day, year after year, he kept doing whatever mammon wanted and grew to hate himself even more. Then he met Ozzie who made him feel good again and who supported him and show'd him it's okay and that he needed to get away. Ozzie was there to back him up even though you could see that fear in his face as Mammon once again became abusive, evensomuch as to threaten the Ozzie which Ozzie quickly shut down by openly admitting it, thus removing mammon's power right in front of Fizz and showing support once again. This song has resonated within my brain for the last 2 weeks on constant repeat, specifically the part saying "wish I'd have said it sooner, say goodbye while I look you in the eye and say F you. Great song and great message! Thank you for it and I only wish it had existed when I walked away from my abuser.
I wish this song was out when i quit last fall. I would have emailed it out to them. My previous boss is a huge narcissist, like Adam from Hazbin Hotel but worse. At least Adam had being the first man to him lol. I've been playing this on repeat for nearly 3 weeks still.
And this is why Alex Brightman is a Broadway star. Even while putting on a scratchy voice for a character, you can hear he has superb command over his vocals. The timbre of Fizz’s (and Beetlejuice’s) voices may not be aesthetically pleasing, but that has nothing to do with the singing ability. Alex Bightman is killing it here, he is singing AND acting!
🤔 Huh. I actually never knew that, the part about him playing the titular character in a Broadway musical... Can't say I've even seen or heard of it before today (though I did watch the original Tim Burton movie, of course)... Now I'm gonna hafta find it somewhere! 😉
I wish I had this song 7 years ago when I quit my abusive job, with like 2 minutes notice as well actually. "If I stay I'll be 6 more feet under the ground" speaks to me way more than it should unfortunately 😮💨
2:12 - 2:56 That was the exact reason why I left my old job: the negative impact on my mental health, the toxic fake relationships, being taken advantage off. I’m so glad this song exists. Thank you, Vivi
Can we just acknowledge that Fizz kept his word on the two minutes notice. Said it at 1:00 and says his last "Fuck You" to Mammon at 3:00. Truly a master of his art!
Did anyone see how at around 2:56 Fizz has a look of contemplation on his face before actually calling Mammon out, LOVE all the detail that goes into each episode! I cannot wait to see what they do next❤
2:50 I love this little moment where they smile at each other. Blitz is so proud of Fizz and happy to help in any way he can, and Fizz is just happy to have Blitz back in his life. 🥰
2:47 The smile on Fizz’s face when Blitzø shoots the guy on his leg and he realizes he has people that love him and will back him up is so heartwarming
So, each of the Sins has had a song that perfectly exemplifies them, Asmodeus has "House of Asmodeus," Beelzebub has "Cotton Candy," but I feel like, even though Mammon didn't sing it, this is his perfect song. It perfectly describes the kind of character he is and the sin he represents, even through the eyes of another.
This song is a MASTERPIECE! It's beautifully animated, fully colored and about setting yourself free from an abusive person and start over. Just beautifully. Also the fact that Mammon doesn't realise that this song was directed at him despite the silhouettes of him speaks volumes of his narcissism.
@@dragon723. True, but I only realized that when Mammon threatened Fizz at the end. During the song I thought „damn, what a badass move and also brave“ 😎
Funny detail for those who didn’t notice: When Fizz says “Here’s my 2 minutes notice”, 2 minutes later he finishes the song with his final “Fuck you” to Mammon.
Fizz is seriously one of the most talented performers in Hell. Not to mention, the sweetest thing to ever exist! He's such a bean and must be protected at all costs.
One thing I've noticed no one seems to be commenting on is the fact that this entire performance is a 100% last minute improvisation. The song, the moves, all the props, he never rehearsed any of it before he stepped onstage. He's pulled off improv songs before, with the "Look at This" to distract the gangsters from Blitzo's escape actions, but this is on an entirely new level.
Goes to show you that Fizz is a natural-born performer. Even without Mammon's patronage, I'm sure he's gonna do great as an independent performer who finally has control over his creativity.
Fun fact, played this for a friend over the phone as something I thought he’d enjoy. He did…and told me that he’d happily play this song to his family if he wouldn’t get a metaphorical noose around his neck.
I love how Fizz rips off a good chunk of his clown costume, showing off his robotic limbs and scars, unapologetically showing off who he is under the make up and costumes. Especially since this is right after Ozzy telling him that he loves Fizz for who he really is, flaws and all❤
I personally like that there are no "imperfect" dolls made of Fizz. Ozzy and Fizz both say that the dolls are "just dolls" and a "likeness" but only Ozzy and Blitz who truly care will ever see Fizz the for the imperfectly beautiful person he truly is.
It's also after he got his closure with blitz over what happened and why. The physical scars remain, but the emotional ones are healing. Plus, considering he has Ozzy AND Blitz in his corner, he was probably feeling backed up enough to actually pull this off.
I love how through the whole song, Fizz is taking off things that tie him to Mammon, and showing himself, scars and all - the puffy sleeves, the neck collar and the ones around his wrists, the two tone jacket. Just to show how serious he is about leaving the toxicity of Mammon behind.
I love how in like episode 2 we were all convinced he was gonna be like a mini-side-villain-baby and he was just kinda like back-of-the-mind mid-importance. And then EASILY became tied for my favorite character (personally). Ended up becoming a beautiful part of the show. I JUST WANNA PROTECC
The amount of joy on his face at 2:50, when Blitz taking out another crazy fan of his. It's great to see them have moments like this, especially after episode 6
For sure, the way episode 6 ended they had definitely made up but it's nice that they went straight into another episode where they're friends. It feels like this solidifies them becoming friends again, episode 6 was the emotional apology and 7 was their friendship in action
@@abigbutterstick1780well it isn't a perfect relationship between them as earlier in the episode he seems genuinely pissed that Blitz tagged along to the contest. It is definitely in the process of mending though.
It's ironic because earlier in this video, we see that same fan with a Fizz robot. He could have had the robot, but he got too greedy, wanted the actual Fizz, and got taken out.
Has anyone noticed how Fizz is slowly removing the clown clothing, thus removing Mammon? 0.58: Tears off sleeves. 1.38: The 'metal' wrist cuffs (and unseen ankle cuffs) holding the strings torn off. 1.58: Tears off the bottom part of his top during the spin so his belly shows (why Ozzie gets 'excited'). 2.37: Off goes the collar. Oh, Fizz, how we love you so much! Go have a happy life with Ozzie, who absolutely adores you with his entire being!
Is it just me or as he removes more and more his outfit more resembles that of a circus ringleader. Which would make sense as he is effectively becoming his own act instead of Mammon's.
I've rewatched this so many times that I couldn't help but notice the designs of the background characters. Lots of cute folk in there! Props to whoever made them!
Love how Mammy is such a talentless hack that he doesn't even have a song of his own, just a diss track against him. Every other sin so far has at least one song of their own. Lulu's are about pride, either for his power or his daughter, Ozzie's are about intimacy and love, Beebee's is about sweeeeeet indulgance! I imagine Satan will get one about power, Levy will get one about scheming and... Bel will be too lazy to sing, I think. Lol
The fact that the line “heres my 2 minute notice” actually comes at around one minute (in a three minute song) is just. Amazing. I’m also unreasonably obsessed with this song.
2:09 was just really adorable yet lewd. Asmodeous hiding himself under the curtain was so subtle, and you can see him clearly blushing, most likely because he found his partner being themself, attractive. It's adorable. It's sweet, and I can literally see these two marrying in the future. Just look at the tender loving moments they share in this series. God this show is a work of art
@@sodaacrashIn reality, Ozzie was very excited by the performance of his hot and handsome boyfriend, which made his Kaiju appear and that's why he hid with the curtain 🤭❤️❤️🔥
And this is where you really see how good a boss Blitzo is. Sure, he has boundary issues and tries to shoot most of his problems away, but he actually does care for and shows compassion to his workers. Probably because he saw right from the start how full of shit Mammon was and decided right then and there he never wanted to be that
Truth be told, I think Blitzo just saw the number of similarities between Mammon and Buckzo. They're both greedy and will only show affection to those they know will bring a paying crowd.
I really love that Fizz sings 'here's my 2 minute notice' one minute into this 3 minute song. Fizz ACTUALLY gave Mammon 2 minutes before he announced that he was quitting
Anyone ever noticed that as soon as Fizz said “apologize” Blitzø showed up on screen with a big smile on his face protecting his friend from another deranged fan. I wonder if this means Fizz will fully forgive Blitzø for what happened.
I mean, in the episode Fizz and Blitzø had their heart to heart, they both came to the realization that neither of them was actively trying to avoid the other at first (in fact, it was actually quite the opposite as both tried to reconnect and reconcile with each other after the fire), but their bosses (Mammon & presumably Blitzø’s father/the circus ringmaster) prevented them from getting in touch. By realizing neither of them are at fault, I can see both of them wanting to quickly move past the misplaced bitterness they had and quickly rekindle their friendship like they both initially intended to do after the fire.
@@csindallI don't think Mammon is involved at all for keeping them apart. Blitzø says they haven't seen each other in 15 years, but Fizz has only won the past 10 years of this competition. So that means there's 4 years between him getting blown up and getting hired by Mammon.
Little things I noticed. 1.The cigarette at the start was lit by Ozzie 2.Before Fizz rips his sleeves if, he gestures with him arm, looks down at the steelves with surprise/annoyance, then tears them off 3. When Fizz says "I'm tired of taking your call" the phone says "Incumming call" 4. Fizz's phone has "QUEEN CLUSSY" on the back in sequins 5. The sin symbol in the background changes to Ozzies for a bit when he throws the torch in.
It’s such a good parallel to ‘House of Asmodeus’ and how Fizz helps uplift and compliment the song for Ozzie, that Ozzie summons the stage (the blue/purple smoke) and gives him the flaming baton for ‘Two minutes notice’. They help each other whilst not taking the spotlight from their partner.
When the episode was released, this song spoke to me so much, because a couple of days before I was granted a permanent protection order against my abusive dad. Jammed to this all week long! 😄
A friend of mine told me his coworker was called into work on Thanksgiving yesterday, so instead of going on he sent his boss this song and quit that day What an inspiration
This song is so freaking powerful! I love the energy Fizz has while performing, knowing that he's taking his passion back from Mammon. This show has got SUCH good musical numbers!
This is one of my favorite songs in general. Its cathartic and weirdly relatable for many people. But im surprised no ones mentioned fizz gradually removing his clothes? The whole episode, hes talking about how he has to be "perfect" for mamon, and when he finally decides enough is enough, he almost immediately puts his "imperfections" on display, starting with showing his arms properly
You're right! His sleeves, him ripping his shirt, and lastly removing his collar which I imagine symbolizes him freeing himself from being Malmon's dog (metaphorically speaking)
@@saberbyte3989 the collar was the part that confused me, but your idea makes complete sense. I knew he was removing his sleeves to show his robotic arms and ripping his shirt to show his scars, so I was considering the collar removal the same, but couldn't figure out what he was showing. If it's a more metaphorical thing it makes complete sense, especially considering he saves it for last
@@stellarstarrs3219 The collar part does make so much sense, I mean if we look in the original circus (pre fire) clips of them as kids or as teens he does not wear one. Not until he starts working with Mammon I think. I wonder how much Tizz will change his clothing choices now that he is free? Will he wear something more like Ozzy to show his love or will we see him wearing something more like in the flashback to when him and Blitz were teens?
Don’t forget the cuffs that he ripped off separately from his sleeves. He has been wearing those yellow cuffs since his first appearance and I loved how he tore them like he was breaking out of shackles.

The amount of people hating on her for being independent because they're jealous or because helluva boss/hazbin is popular 🙄 Vivzie is a pioneer and one I hope we talk about in years to come as the one who started independent animation
One small detail I love is, right before he calls Mammon a POS, Fizz glances down and to the side with a nervous or even scared expression... And then continues in spite of that fear.
So glad someone else caught that! Even the lyrics at that moment of the song ("Too late to apologize, / So this is it:") felt like he was steeling himself for the hardest sentence he'd ever needed to say -- people who haven't been in relationships like this one don't often realize how _hard_ it is to finally stand up and push back, and how much of a difference it makes to have people you trust and care about at your back.
I want to imagine that Fizz asked Ozzie for help with the effects and backdrop because he’s gonna do a completely improvised song and no one on the stage hand would be able to keep up with the last minute changes. Also note that in 1:54 they subtlety change the sigil on the stage to Ozzie’s instead of Mammon’s and change back.
Let's be real. 30% of this song was improvised at most. I think he'd had this building for a while, and just finally had the support network to execute it.
Can we all just appreciate all of the original songs that Vivian makes in her animations instead of using songs others made, true talent Omg I'm famous
she got her start in using other's songs, thats nothing to be ashamed of. hell its the reason she wanted kesha to voice bee, cause die young was such a big hit in her animation start
Using preexisting music for animatics or short animations is one thing, that's how it usually works and that's fine. This is more like a movie musical with original songs vs a movie musical that uses preexisting songs. Even when the new songs are obviously using the tunes of other songs, it better fits the work and shows more passion.
ABSOLUTE favorite detail is when he says "So this is it.." and you can see his slight hesitation before he puts it on full blast and actually says Mammons name!!
I don't think its hesitation, more like he relishes the moment where he finally tells off Mammon. His look of pure happiness and swaying tail, Fizz is just having so much fun. He might be blasting his boss throughout the whole song but Mammon doesn't seem to even realize it until Fizz directly calls him out.
The highlight of this song for me, as amazing as it is, is the grin Blitzø gives Fizz when he shoots the guy humping his leg. Seeing him smile so sincerely just warmed my heart so much.
The fact that Fizzarolli had the guts and the balls to quit like that is very badass. Also, I'm glad that Blitzø and Asmodeus are supportive of him. We all need a suitable support system.
I think all of us can relate to this song. We've all had that one boss who drives us up the wall, or goes out of their way to make us feel bad about ourselves. You want to scream at them and tell them to kiss your butt, but you can't. Shout-out to Fizz for being able to do what we can't! 😎👊 👏👏👏
