Ever since you said Greenskins were top tier & I saw a comment from someone saying that they're a hard matchup for bretonnia, I can't stop thinking about them. My initial assumption was that the combination of low leadership & no healing made them mid tier. I really need to sit down with them now.

Greenskins are a weird faction in a sense that they are great in dom but very lacklustre in land battles. Their biggest strength is that they have very cost effective chaff and mobile AP, which matters a lot more in domination where you need to spread your value to at least two locations. But in land battles there is no need to split forces or take ground, so the currently dominant thing is healing and elite mobility. Lack of sustain is very crippling in land battles, but in dom it doesn't matter as much if your cheap units can hit hard and swarm the enemy in multiple locations.
yup and also, greenskins need to pile on the pressure, among other for morale and getting to enemy glasscannons. this guy did pretty good, no slow infantry in the reserves. he could have bounced around the squigs more but overall well done to him
I love this total war but I’ve never been any good at it so I usually just watch other people play it. It’s a game I definitely wish I had friends to play with. I love seeing these videos thank you for posting
I feel bad that you won't even attempt to say 'Brazier' any more, it's always just 'the healing item'... go ahead and pronounce it however you want, Slavic priests in Brassiers is still a hilarious (and disturbing) image! :)
Only problem I can see with the counter build, is that if the Ork player calls out two boar boys, you could get bogged down and surrounded. Then the archers do their jobs and you're screwed. Saying that though, the Bear ICBM should hold that off a bit. I'd very much like to see it in action.
I was going to say, maybe doom divers would also be a tech against a blob like that, but ostankya's missile is probably too strong of a counter to them.
@@SleepyFen I don't think a doomdiver would have the dps to make it worth it, at least early on. Depending on the map, it might be a good call out once the infantry start coming out. You've got the bodies to protect it and it can just wear down the reinforcements.
In the campaign mode I find Kislev disgustingly powerful, a powerful lizardman army is good, but I find Dark Elves get melted, I really need my most powerful mid-level army I can manage to have a chance. When fighting them the problem is - lots of archers that fight okay in combat, and their leadership - they rarely break, very stoic but also very cheap.
Okay for the geniuses who claim orcs aren't imba, let's talk numbers and squad effectiveness. Executioners har-ganet cost 1200 black orcs 1050. Why do executioners lose to black orcs? Nobs on boars cost 850 cold knights cost 1000. Same question. Sisters of Slaughter are worth 1000 wild orc noobs worth 750 wild orc noobs worth 850. Same question. These comparisons can be continued for a long time, and you can consider the situation with other races and compare it in the lab or in online games.

Is it really that surprising? in land battles you get what army you're stuck with. And for leadership-weak factions, making sure the enemy is on the backfoot is the best way to avoid this problem, which you can do with reinforcement call ins to deal with counters in domination mode
It is cool to see other GS lords but I still wanna see Wurzag sometimes. Still think he was nerfed too much. Nerfed into the shadow realm, wish he was just nerfed into alignment with the other lord options.
Can someone give me a detailed explanation to why green skins & kislev are dominating the meta when both factions have many troops that are memes or just bad
I think for gs there are a lot of v cheap cost effective units. They put so much out on the field so this generates lots of dps/battle field control/hp to chew through
As someone that loves Kislev, sadly right now they are just carried by the OP patriach healing item that auto heals in an area around you when you are in melee, the new incarnate has a very powerful mortis engine that constantly has a flock of doom effect around it while also being a beefy powerful anti-large unit, and mother ostankya has crazy damage potential + healing with her cauldron. Their main roster is decent but the new additions are making them extremely meta while at launch they were a niche counterpick at best.

I think a lot of Greenskin units sit in a sweet spot re: cost vs utility, e.g. Boyz beating other basic infantry, Boar Big 'Uns beating most cavalry, Arrer Boyz trading cost efficiently with their high missile strength and loose formation vs other ranged etc. Other factions whose units either underperform (e.g. tier 1 inf vs Boyz) or overcost (tier 3 cav vs Boar Big 'Uns) have difficulties setting up proper counters.
Heres a controverial opinon, Greenskins are not OP, what they are is a faction that has a good solid well rounded unit pool, that is now not relying on a single dumb mono build because 1 character is op. unlike the rest of the top tier factions that are only top teir because of that very reason. no matter how strong a single dumb mono build is, if a strong faction doesnt have to play into it or can even counter it, it shouldnt be seen that that faction is OP, it should be that a single dumb mono build is only a gimmick and is one meta change away from being useless, and maybe an entire games meta shouldnt be based on 4 brokenly OP units, but no its much easier to say "mah dumb gimmick build got killed by being outplayed and outarmy listed, that means they are OP."
Greenskins need a cost increase, I know their whole thing is mass infantry, but this is just proof that their chaffe is too good and too cheap. You simply can’t field an army big enough to deal with them
