Erin, I had a friend call me one day crying because her husband forgot her birthday and I said to her "Oh no sweetheart, you have to PLAN your own day to make sure it is exactly what you are dreaming of. Let your husband, kids, or whomever know well in advance what that WHOLE DAY, if not week, will look like" down to the very last detail. By the time my birthday arrives, everyone is not only well aware of the events but so tired of hearing about it. LOL! I am extremely proud of that! We, as moms, get so few days we need to make the most of them!

I have both. I wear the scuba blazer often - I have the schoolboy version. I bought the Miller blazer with silver buttons for a job interview. Leaving the building, a man in the parking lot said to me, you look fantastic! I got the job! Love both blazers!

This is one my favourite tips from you yet! Awesome. Love all except the leopard print :). Love the layered look but hate being over-heated. So great. The cashmere and the sweatshirt (grey) are very cool.

I prefer my Scuba Blazers for the longer sleeves, fit, and the fact they don't wrinkle. I like buying the dickies with the attachable sleeve cuffs. It extends the length of the sleeves (super long arms over here) and really enhances the layered look. I remember the first video you posted with one of the Scuba Blazers and the grey hooded dickie. I was in love. I showed it to my husband and he immediately said, "Buy it. That is so you!" Thank you for all the years of inspiration. Completely elevated my style.

I search RU-vid while having my morning coffee and was so happy to see a video from you! I bought the navy scuba blazer years ago from Poshmark and have never regretted it. Later, I paid full price for a subtle plaid version of the other one. Even though I’m now retired, I get plenty of use out of both of them. Good investments.

I have a black Miller with silver buttons and full sleeves. It has enough stretch which allows me to wear a size 8 which hits me just right in sleeve length. Totally worth the price!

Wearing the scuba blazer with the gray hoodie dickie as I watched this! I invested in the black scuba and the navy Miller with gold buttons this past year. The instant I put on the Scuba, I knew it was going to be one of my best purchases ever. It can be worn casually or dressed up. Somehow the side zippers instantly create a waistline. Love the Miller also. Still debating if I should go black or navy with gold or silver buttons. Thanks for this video!! Would love to see more styling ideas with these jackets.

Ive been watching your channel for years. Last year I was able to purchase the Miller, the Scuba Blazer and the Balmain blazer. I purchased the Miller and Scuba from the VB boutique in Dallas. I purchased three of the dickies as well. I purchased two Balmain Blazers from the real real. I like them all, but they all feel bulky. I can only wear them with t-shirts or I feel like I'm drowning in material. I still wear them at least once a week, because I like the way they look on me.

Out of the two I think I prefer the Scuba blazer for myself. I currently have a VB leather Gail jacket which is much like the Miller but I feel as if the accented buttons makes me look top-heavy.

Love the Miller blazer. Since the Balmain blazer looks so similar, can you tell us what is the difference between the Balmain double breasted wool jacket - and the Veronica Beard/ Miller blazer in terms of fit, fabric , quality (besides the price!)? Also, I'm about to purchase the Veronica Beard Miller Dickey blazer and am blonde like you. Do you think it's more flattering to get a navy or black blazer ? (I already have a black blazer from a different designer). Thank you and I love your channel!

Great question, Marianne! The main difference is that the Balmain is a heavier fabric, it also nips in more at the waist but otherwise the design is almost exactly the same (except for Dickey capability of the VB blazers). Fabric is more luxe on the Balmain, but VB is amazing if you are not seeing them side by side. As far as black vs navy... I personally wear black so much more that I always go with that. But if you wear navy, or it will fit seamlessly into your current wardrobe and fills a gap in your closet checklist, go for it! That one is just such a personal, individual decision. xo

I would like to make a video topic suggestion please: I can't be the only person who doesn't understand why retailers charge these kinds of prices for garments, especially those made of synthetic fabrics. Is it just the label people are being charged for, or is there a quality element? I'd love a tutorial on understanding what features make a garment worth paying high-end prices, especially these days, bc it seems they're manufactured differently than they used to be. TI A.

Great topic suggestion... It depends on a lot of different factors. For this in particular, I've known and shopped with this brand for years and can vouch for the quality and longevity of their pieces. For fabrics... generally the natural fibers will last longer, but not all polyester or all synthetics are the same. Actually feeling the garment will be a big help when determining quality, but for price... we have to set our own limits and decide what is "worth it" for each of us and our own wardrobe budgets. xo

I’m clearing out my old clothes..I have a black VB blazer that I received as a gift. It has silver buttons but I prefer gold. Thought about getting the navy with gold buttons then changing buttons to silver on navy one and using the gold on the black?.😂😂Would you ever buy their long jacket coat? Just nail down your wardrobe essentials / basics so that you feel confident that everything will pair just right with what you already have. I have a lot of clothes but I want to adjust my wardrobe to include fewer items during this process and in the future I want to include better quality ‘love it’ items in my wardrobe. I do find some classic items I’ve loved wearing for years. I want to find more of those to add in addition to some that bring me joy because I’m a huge fan of bright colors! The current version of the Miller jacket does not have 3/4 sleeves - they are really long. I think the jacket is longer than my scuba jacket too.

I wear my normal size of a 4 and would say they both run true to size...Though the Miller fits slightly bigger so if you're in between two sizes, I'd size down. xo

I have two scuba blazers, and 5 dickeys. I found the Miller blazer way out of proportion for me, despite my preferring cropped blazers. (I'm 5'2") As for my scuba blazers, I get more wear out of my white schoolboy model. The black one, which i bought thanks to your raves, seems to snap together just a bit too low on shortwaisted me. They don't work for anyone. I find that Smythe and Derek Lam Crosby blazers fit me perectly.

It's lightweight so I really don't ever feel hot in it, but it's not as breathable as natural fibers such as cotton, linen, etc. I just love it! xo

Could anyone who owns VB blazers talk about the fit? Specifically, do they seem to run large, small or TTS? Also -- I have very broad shoulders and always take out the shoulder pads from every garment (but people still think I have shoulder pads in! lol). So many blazers are cut way to small (e.g. normal sized) in the shoulders that I feel like I'm being cut into by the under arm area. How are these for women with Olympic swimmers' shoulders and a broad back? I don't live where I can try them on and am a little afraid to order something this pricey or try to get it from Poshmark or something, then it doesn't work. thanks!

The scuba blazer is TTS and has much softer shoulders. If your shoulders are very wide, you may want to go up a size even... The Miller has strong shoulders, though I wouldn't recommend removing the shoulder pads. It fits a bit more generous and I could even size down in that style. The scuba is also very stretchy and won't add more emphasis to wider shoulders so that may be the way to go. Hope this helps! xo

A question..... Years ago, I was told that we need to be careful to NOT brake the look at the "half way" mark on our body. It needs to be cut in thirds for the best portion. Do you agree?

The rule of thirds is very helpful! It helps to elongate the body and not give the look of our body being cut in half. xo

I like the scuba blazer a bit more but I'm 5'2" so I'm worried it will look too long on me

I am 5'4" for reference. If you are in between sizes, I'd suggest sizing down but this one really fits true to size. You can also consider having the sleeves tailored to fit you just right if they are too long. xo

I’m the same height as you and think the scuba isn’t that bad in length for petite. Sleeve is a lil long but it’s doable and doesn’t need alterations .

Hi Jen! Both jackets are lined. The scuba is partially lined, Miller is fully lined... I love them both and stand behind my recommendation. xo

I was disappointed by the Veronica Beard blazer as the fabric is polyester? I wanted to buy one, but when I saw the fabric, no thanks! I didn't care about the price but the quality seems questionable if polyester.

Hi Audrey! Generally speaking, I do think we should go for natural fabrics, but the VB blazers are excellent quality! Not all poly is the same, and I stand behind my love for this brand. xo
