I am watching these in succession. As a believer for around 35 years I still have learned SO much from Skip's teachings. Thank you for inviting us into your living room. On an entirely different note, if you can't get to Jerusalem, Google Earth has an excellent, high def, representation of the city. You can see it's interior streets if you zoom in, and the mountains and valleys if you zoom out. It's really well done. Even an evil monstrosity like Google can't help but provide some good to believers as God is still, and always will be, ruling on the throne in Heaven.
Thanks Pastor Skip - that was really interesting about that water tunnel. I hope I can see all these historical Bible sites one day. Seeing it in person would really make the Bible come alive. Many bloody battles for sure with heads, hands, and feet being cut off and bodies being hung on walls. And, of course, the atheist ensnared in the coils of spurious logic will point to it as a reason to reject God. I say "spurious logic" because on the one hand they embrace the philosophy that we are nothing more than meaningless soulless amalgamations of molecules destined for nothingness, and then on the other hand, they want to ascribe the invisible attribute of morality to those molecules and criticize God for being a "war monger". Never mind that in an atheistic worldview there is no absolute moral standard - there is no absolute "right" or "wrong"! There's only time, space, matter, energy, and chemical reactions. So their "feeling of being offended" is really only an illusion caused by chemical reactions in the brain. But I'm also betting that if most develop a cancerous tumor they'll want to have it removed as quickly as possible. I'm also betting most don't have a problem with Planned Parenthood. May they approach God in humility and sincerity and ask Him to open blind "inner eyes". For the Lord is not willing that any should perish. God bless.
My question is, how do you know Abner did indeed took one of Saul's concubine when the bible does not make it if he did. All we see if the king accusing him of doing such an act. Pastor would you please explain
