i didn't know about that because i haven't been in the us for some years but still there are so many great shows from the 70's 80's and 90's that there is reason to show cartoons that came out 10-15 years ago
what is this? half of the shows you listed started in the 90's and went on to the 2000's. batman beyond aired in 1999 just like johnny bravo and ed edd and eddy, dexter laboratory went from the mid 90's to the early 2000's. half of your choices are from 90's and went on 2000's.
honestly, there is only one decade I would call a bad decade for cartoons it would be the 70s. It just ran rampant of Scooby Doo clones, huge amount of censorship that makes modern day cartoons look like Doom, and perhaps the worst sin of all, a cartoon series where Tom and Jerry are friends and don't try to do the cat and mouse thing.
I honestly feel like I'm all alone in the world when I talk about this show to my friends and none of them have any idea what I'm talking about. 2 Stupid Dogs; Secret Squirrel; Cow & Chicken; I Am Weasel. How could I possibly forget all the summer breaks of watching these shows day in and day out when I was eight years old, not a single care in the world? Those were the days, man. Brings tears to my eyes.
I remember them as well. I also remember watching the Dumb and Dumber cartoon without having watching Jim Carrey films earlier, the same with The Mask and Ace Ventura...
This was the first show that appeared on screen when we finally got sattelite tv service in the late 90s. I was hooked, then everything else started coming. Powerpuff girls, Dexter's Lab, Cow and Chicken, Courage the Cowardly Dog (still remember the alien chicken pilot!!), Ed Edd and Eddy, i may be missing something. Cartoons today suck.
I remember this show I remember one episode in particular where Mr Hollywood was doing movies and the dogs were his costars Big dog was a character named Loafy And Mr Hollywood's dressed like a woman and smothering him in kisses and big dog grabs Mr Hollywood's ass and shoves it up to his mouth so he can kiss his own ass while big dog sneaks away Mr Hollywood opens his eyes and sees he's kissing his own ass He gets so angry he turns beet red and his head cracks open And there's a little alien inside who starts yelling "I'm free! I'm free!" 😂
I used to love this show! Does anybody else remember the episode where the little dog was trying to purposely lose a game show so he could win dog treats instead of a new car? That was always one of my favorite episodes.
@Jonathan Yescas No, the concept for the Powerpuff Girls existed long before Two Stupid Dogs. Plus, this show is an obvious Ren and Stimpy knockoff. If not for Ren and Stimpy, this show would not exist.
@Jonathan Yescas -- This was Craig McCracken's first job at Cartoon Network. On his recommendation, Genndy Tartakovsky (classmate at CalArts) was hired...McCracken then retooled the Whoopass Stew! concept to PPG and Tartakovsky created Dexter's Lab.
30's up to 50's were the golden age of animation. But I like to call the 90's and mid 2000's as the _silver era of animation._ _...sometimes I wish I could go back and experience it all over again._
Nope. Not a single one. With the possible exception of "Sealab 2021," natch. But no, Hanna-Barbera disgraced itself when it let Turner get its hooks into them. It just became another marketing tool for them.
It hurt my heart when they ended this cartoon, I watched this and Secret Squirrel religiously before watching Video Soul on BET. Damn, these folks don’t know how great the 90s was for kids
Believe it, or not, the thing I most remember about this show was when I asked my classmates if they had ever seen 2 Stupid Dogs, and this one kid said "Ooh, you said a bad word."
I know how you feel. I remember when I was little, stupid is seen as a bad word for my age at the time(For some reason), so I have to say 2 Dumb Dogs instead of 2 Stupid Dogs back in the day. Even when I mentioned this show to my mom, I had to say 2 Dumb Dogs instead of the real title. 2 Stupid Dogs is my favorite show to watch on Boomerang, this show needs a DVD release.
I remember this! Every day my parents went to work when it was still dark out, and they would drop me off at a babysitter and this would be the first show on every morning! I'd sit there in the dark and watch this every single day, and I couldn't have been happier.
I was at a show a couple years ago and I tried talking to one of the performers there. Before I could say anyting, she saw I had a vintage "2 Stupid Dogs" button on my bag, exclaimed "I LOVE THAT SHOW!!" then whipped out a god damn kazoo and played the theme song on it. XD
Thumbs up if you got here because you were a kid in the yearly 90's and now when you got high you remembered your childhood and wanted to relive this memory LOL
Word Up For Real everything you say makes a lot of sense and he killed that watch this in the 90s will give them a lot of good memories going up with this cartoon if anybody not from the 90s You Don't Know Jack the bone about that cartoon.
This show made my miss my bus for the first time in 1st grade. My parents left to work before I left for school so I had to leave at a certain time and on top of that my parents didn’t get home until a few hours after I got home from school (crazy to think leaving a 6 year old alone Nowadays but this was the 90s). So that day I missed the bus and got to skip school because I didn’t have a way to get to school. And thus began a habit of “missing the bus” regularly in 1st grade where I just stayed home, watched tv all day, and ate junk food. My parents still don’t know to this day and I’m 30. This came on right after Johnny Bravo and some episodes were that good that I finished it to the end before running out the door to catch the bus. I wish I could live one of those days one last time.
This brings back so many memories, and the old days, our days growing up, no downloading, no online, no smart phones, no tablets, no Xbox ps1,2,3,4, no blu rays, no DVD's, no HD, no DLC, no flat screen tv's, no Kadashians, no RU-vid, and no social media, just you big dog, and little dog, I miss those days, life was so diffrent back in the day untill now.
Batesmotel1960 No but I'm sure you watched way too much TV, watched way too many movies and played far too much colecovision. Basically the same shit, different decade.
It's 2024 this randomly crossed my mind and hearing this just takes me back to a time we can't get back anymore 💔 just reminiscing about the good ole days
It really seems like nobody seems to remember this show. This is truly nostalgic for me. I was born at 2006 so I wasn’t really around to see the very old shows. But I remember like around midnight is when all these amazing shows would come on like Dexter‘s laboratory. And I loved this show so much
I remember watching this in the morning back in high school... I loved this show because I had an Old English Sheepdog at the time and she reminded me of the big dog with his giant nose...
This show entered my life in the late stages of my childhood, I always looked on it fondly cause I actually got most of the more adult jokes they were throwing my way.
the one thing I remember from this show was when one of the dogs went to the strip club because they needed shoes because they wanted to go inside a grocery store and they thought you needed shoes to get in.
I remember that I would leave my tv on during summer afternoons and this came on around 3:00 pm and for me that was the signal to pack up for football practice, this for me will always be remembered as the intro that said "it's time for practice, gotta head out".
Thumbs this up if you are a 90s kid who stayed up too late on a school night while watching cartoonnetwork way past your bedtime, during the hours of 12:00 to 2:30AM ......NOSTALGIA!!!!!!!!!
Yeah like 2 Stupid Dogs, the OG Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Lab, Johnny Bravo and Courage the Cowardly Dog. Thanks to Boomerang, I became a huge fan of the OG Powerpuff Girls.
Those were just reruns of classic cartoons. Nowadays it is VERY rare to see such a thing in Modern Day CN. This was my shit on Boomerang and CN and im so glad they aired it at the time.
I remember that. It was in the summer of 2011, when it came on. It looked interesting, but my mom shoved me outside when it came on. I don't know why, and neither does she.
I remember watching this show all the time on Boomerang when it still showed the old cartoons! Used to love watching this show, hell when I try talking about it with my husband, he looks at me like I have two heads 🫠
This era of CN was so great, I still remember every Friday night they'd have a block of all these cartoons. I would look forward to Fridays so much. For whatever reason, as a kid I only thought that the cartoons would air Friday nights only and during the rest of the week it would be other programming, I don't know why I thought that lol
I have had terrible insomnia since I was a kid (in the early 90s) and I always would wake up in the middle of the night and watch this. I absolutely loved it and it probably didn't help with my insomnia 😂
That show was good, I think they should do a 2 Stupid Dogs TV Movie Revival on Cartoon Network. For that's with it deserves. I hope everyone else who's also 2 Stupid Dogs fans agrees with that.
Like what Nickelodeon did with Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling? :) I don't see why not. I highly vote for 2 Stupid Dogs to have a TV movie and air on Cartoon Network :)
The Show was Terrible. Juvenile, Gross, Obnoxious and Crass. It was also a commercial failure. That only ran 26 episodes. It was a Blatant Rip-off of Ren and Stimpy. The Show got canceled due to MTV Networks,John K and Nick threatening Copyright Infringement against HB.
@@Tornado1994 Have you know, I watch 2 Stupid Dogs and Ren and Stimpy back to back, and both shows are extremely different to each other. Ren and Stimpy is going for a dark, gross, off the wall humor while 2 Stupid Dogs is going more of a cute, situational, clean, humor that relies what shinanigons these dogs go through based on un-intellectual knowledge they have on the world. Both these shows go for something different, and both did really great in their own terms. I love both 2 Stupid Dogs and Ren and Stimpy, but personally I quite prefer 2 Stupid Dogs because it's better written, and I honestly find 2 Stupid Dogs funnier too. But that's my opinion. The only thing that's too similar between both shows is they both happen to have 2 best friends as the main characters, that's it. Both these shows are apples and oranges, they both have different approaches of comedy. If we're talking about a show that's a huge Ren and Stimpy rip-off, I'll say Cow and Chicken since the humor, wackiness, and characters feel too much like Ren and Stimpy. And even then, I happen to still like that show. Also, I doubt that's the reason why 2 Stupid Dogs is cancelled. John K. worked on 2 Stupid Dogs as well(Yes, believe it or not) in some episodes, and 2 Stupid Dogs wouldn't see re-runs and DVD releases if that's the case.
