This video works well for not just Uber but just anybody who wants to have good set of tools in their car for any situation and for just regular cleaning of their car interior.
Trying to sign up. My email had my exes last name, so it appears on profile. So they reject my docs, I guess because names don't match. I've written support. How do I change it myself.
I would suggest putting a little vinegar in that soapy water because vinegar kills any scent and it's a disinfectant aaaand it's very cheap. I make my own cleaning solution with it and it works great. Some people are afraid of it because they fear the smell, I don't even pay it any attention anymore, besides it only lasts a few seconds and vinegar is oderless without using all those harmful chemicals.
Sorry, but you're partially right and partially wrong.. While Vinegar is 5% acetic acid, it will take care of some common germs, But to fully kill all germs, viruses and bacteria's, vinegar will not do that.. For instance vinegar will not kill bacteria like staphylococcus, E.coli, listeria an many bacteria's that can cause illnesses.. Also, vinegar can prevent mold growth but will not kill it once mold has already grown..
Add a few pumps of hand sanitizer to you soap and water solution. The hand sanitizer will help with stain and smell removal. the alcohol in the hand sanitizer works like dry cleaning solvent. I have been using this mixture for years in my car and it works extremely well.
Coming from the man who didn't capitalize a brand, missed the comma in his sentence, used "a" instead of an, and didn't capitalize the letter "F". Oh yeah, I can't be an "F" in genius. There is NO "F" present. At least you spelled "Genius" right...LOL. Let me help you out. Here is an example of how your sentence should have read. "You may be a Simple Driver, but you get an "F" in the genius department. Good Luck!
WOW Jeff, I surely took that wrong brother. So many hateful people out here. I let their negativity rub off on me. My apologies. I'm big enough to accept that mistake and stand up for your comment. Thank you. I apologize publicly again. Gotta get my mind back right today :-)
you should also have coffee grinds if you are a uber driver.. someone gets sick on the floor just pour some on the vomit and takes away the smell. plus easy to clean up
cpcoasternut yes. Works great for back of Semi truck trailers after delivery of smelly products like trash or onions also. Buy massive bulk of coffee grinds and it’s cheaper.
I just got my first text from uber saying that I can drive for them now. Thank you for making this video. It helps people like me get a little orientation before taking off on the first drive
Fabulous video. I was wondering if you could post a video or maybe ask a female fellow Uber driver to do tips for gals who want to get into Uber-particularly safety tips? That would be awesome! :)
Red Rose that's an awesome idea be safe out there I pray for the lords cover over all drivers especially the ladies just trying to make an honest living 🙏🏼🙏🏼
T ALI : I have had many passengers thank me for having the bottle of water after a busy night out, or hot day at the beach or from a busy work meeting.
Endorphin Factory : I have to agree with you that you may have a point there. But that's "one" of the many reasons I only do office crowd & travellers during daytime. No nights or pub-crawls. Also getting my seats upholstered to vinyl to have easy cleanups, issues with fluids (of all types). You can't change everyone, But you can be prepared!
Damn that referral website is a slick idea. I just signed up for Uber today, and I'm already a nerd so I have chargers and phone mounts. The inverter idea is great, as is the aux cable. I was thinking of allowing passengers to synch with the bluetooth, but drunk people aren't figuring that shit out.
Dude you're (the) example of the distinct difference between an amateur and a professional. Of course someone like you would rock an uber business. Unlike uber drivers in my city that are part timers/amateurs. I respect you.
The title for this video should read "20 things every driver should have in the car" also add a good road side & first aid kit. Never admitted first aid to anyone, always give them the supplies to do it themselves. Protect and reduce your liability.
From my own experience, the Uber app is always wrong. Waze is wrong 50% of the time. The MOST accurate maps app is Google Maps. Actually, the rider is the most accurate - they know where they live and how to get there best. For mileage tracking, I use Stride Tax, it tracks your mileage, keeps your expenses on record, and even helps you file your taxes with those expenses as deductions. Before I login to Uber, I turn on the mileage tracking in Stride Tax. When I'm done doing Uber for the day, after I log off, I also end the mileage tracking.
Thanks for the list. Got my shopping list and getting everything BEFORE I start driving. Do you believe in the whole thing about the "please rate me five stars" signs? Do you feel such a thing is even necessary? I also own an auto detailing business, so keeping the car spotless should be a cinch.
hey how's it going, dope video its simple and gets right to the point. I absolutely love diving and really want to do uber financing to get a car but i really have no idea on how to even get started ... home base for me is Toronto Canada ! i all ways get all kinds of different advice from ppl who do it and some who dont .. on what i should do and its not to helpful. just wanted to know if you could lend a helping hand. Thank you !
you don't wanna wear pepper spray... lookup vipertek flashlight. it gives you the recommended flashlight that just happens to have a 25 million volt stun gun on the end ;)
Dj Swift : 1) Cost difference. I don't know how much the fancy flashlight is, but must be more expensive than a small pepper spray can, that I hopefully will never use. 2) I don't want to be sued by the assailant for "causing blindness/eye damage by knowingly using a powerful light source at close range". Local laws may differ. Pepper spray only causes temporary physical inconvenience.
I suggest buying a Gel Brand Pepper spray gel wont blow back in your face in a windy situation or in a closed space like indoors or in a vehicle! be safe!
I'm a 'Damsel in Defense' rep and we have items you can use to defend yourself if a situation arises. pepper spray, stun gun, weapon to jab someone trying to attack you.
i suggest the squeegee with the handle instead, just like they have at the gas station. at least it has a long handle on it instead. if your car is wet you don't want your clothes wet from leaning on the car.
It's sad that most of this stuff is for cleaning your car because people are disrespectful scumbags who don't treat other people's cars and property with respect.
great advice. Thanks for all the info this will help me out and I'm driving. I've been driving for 3 years and half of the stuff I didn't think about. I didn't know about the vomit bags thanks again.
I'm a new uber driver and your channel is so motivating. I quit my 9-5 for more freedom to work on my own career and uber has not only replaced my 9-5 income but it exceeded it... thank you so much for sharing your tips! I'm gonna be making a channel soon as well.
Please explain to me why I need to provide amenities for people who are taking a cheap ride system. This isn't a limo service. It's not even as expensive as a taxi and taxis provide no amenities so why should I be expected to provide amenities when I'm barely making minimum wage as an Uber or Lyft driver? People don't expect water and cellphone chargers from a taxi so why should they expect it from an Uber ride? That''s unrealistic. Making drivers spend all this money just to get good ratings is a crappy system. Uber's rating system need to be scrapped. It's unfair to drivers.
Thanks for commenting. How you treat YOUR business is a personal choice. I make entirely too much money NOT to care about my rating or passengers in MY rolling business on wheels. FYI, I NEVER carry water or candy in my vehicles, but I do provide a service that is 100 times better than a TAXI and my income reflects it. I would suggest watching my Ultimate Uber Income video to get a deeper understanding of how this is REALLY working for drivers making over $5K a month. Here is the link- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hPh8nSHMo5M.html
Branes51 look at it this way--anything you can do for your passenger 1) may get you a good rating; 2) repeat customer; 3) tips. They wont get this from a taxi or bus so why not do little things to show them you appreciate their business? in this business it pays to go the extra mile to be nice and its just the right thing to do

This is my second day. And I had a price adjustment. Claimed that I took the long route to their destination! It was raining so hard and traffic was a mess. They had to make another stop on the way, and apparently they didn't want to pay full price. But I won't complain...this is why I needed a teacher.
'Need'?! You sure (i'm assuming you're not doing uberx or pool)?! short of the the phone holder, charger cord (i don't know how you can keep the phone up in that thing) I don't have any of these. why? - (hand vac) i just go to the flagship carwash self service and use the vacuum for 2 tokens once a week. maybe people where are are a dirtier but here in dc, especially if it's not friday evening to monday morning, people tend to be more decent with the cleanliness. - (camera) agreed, need this shit, especially if male much less hetero male. I'm looking for a quality one that can record front and rear. - (flashlight) cell phone. if you need to look around, you aren't (or shouldn't be driving) - (window cleaner) you don't need rain replant on the inside of your car obviously, you can got to any gas station and use their window washer, in addition, i use the rainX window washer fluid which has that beading stuff in it - (febreeze) after each trip i roll down all 4 windows and let the place air out before the next rider, this lasts me till my weekly detailing - (mobile wall charger) for fuck sake, how long do they expect to be in your car that they need to charge shit like laptops or think they'll get a significant charge from the small time they're in your car?! I have an anker car charger, a micro usb cord (android) and an lightning (apple) - (car squeegee) ....windshield wipers! plus if it just rained (or t stormed) who the fuck is going to be that unreasonable as to expect the outside of your car to look like showroom?! * i actually have a pen and small notebook myself, but thinking about it now, why the fuck do you, i or anyone else need that?! is the ceo of some international conglomerate going to take your or my uber, and talk to us resulting in them giving us a 10 figure job, and all we have to do is go to x address so we better write it down?! - (soap water, gloves, cloth) this is why i don't do drunk people, can't be bothered with that or the 80 bullshit dollars uber gives you when the steam detailing you need is going to be at least 200 dollars (if it's quality) 7:42 Now it makes sense! yeah, all that isn't going to fit in a 2012 mazda 6, add to the fact that i get hit with dc to: ragan, dulles and the rare bwi, airport trips (ie luggage and lots of it), yeah no way!
If you are still looking for a car mount: my dad uses this: "iOttie Easy One Touch 2" from Amazon.com for 19.99 and it HAS NEVER FAILED HIM! even on bumpy roads! He's had it for sometime now too, very easy to take off/put on, easy to use. It's more than amazing that's for sure!!
Calvin, first off thanks for you helpful videos as I am just starting out. Wanted to let you know that i found the hand held vac you recommended at my local Walmart and it was on clearance for $15.00. Yup, you read that correct $15.00... I bought the 2 they had left in stock. so instead of paying $60 if you're viewers read this check the local walmart's for this vac on clearance. Oh, and yes it is an excellent vac.
You got an absolute steal compared to what they are charging on amazon for it now. I used the link he posted for the vac and it is going for $510 plus $2000 shipping.
More items I've found that is a must is gum, starburst, jolly ranchers, hand lotion, hand sanitizer and mini tissues. I have also found if you step out of your vehicle to open the doors to pick up and drop off. The pax love that. I've helped women in and out of my vehicle and they are almost shocked that I do that. I've averaged at 4.96 for the entire time I've driven for Uber.
you don't need to kiss pax ass to get a good rating ...water...spilled and left on the seat ,gum...stuck on bottom of seat ..candy wrappers left all over back of car ...fuck that ..safe ride from A to B ,,comfy seat to sit on , music, ac/heat , that's enough for the $7 ride ,,,come on !!!
+michael iwaniec well sweetheart, you do whatever you want. It's none of your business what I provide for my pax. If you don't like that? Go take a flying leap. You dumbfuck.
Great video. This is super helpful as I just signed up for uber and lyft here in Houston. Maaaaaajor keys are being given in this vehicle. I didn't think about umbrella
Hey man, how did you get the vacuum to work in your car? I bought the exact same vacuum that you bought off Amazon and my suburban won't power it so I bought a 300 W inverter which did not power it so I exchange that for a 750 W inverter and that did not power it either. So if I want to run this vacuum that you recommended, I need to buy a 1000 W inverter for an additional $100. And the inverters that are more powerful that 300 W need to be connected directly to the battery.
And my battery just died, probably from connecting it to those inverters. Now I'm off the road for the night which is going to cost me around $200. All because of a stupid little vacuum.
These items are the furthest thing from useless. I've needed just about every single item on this list. Including the vomit bags which saved my car a few times. AND THE LED FLASHLIGHT IS GOD!!! One other thing I invested in was a discrete bluetooth. That way when the GPS announces directions, it only goes in my left ear and passengers can't hear, or even know I have a bluetooth ; ) Plus I can take calls hands free and I look way more professional not staring at my gps.
thanks Calvin! I just completed my sign up today and I'm interested in getting a camera. The gopro looks good, are you recording inside the car or the road outside? whats more important?
Ultimately Riders don't give a crap if vehicle detailed or not..just as long as there is not trash all over...they just want to get home..focus on oil changes and vehicle maintenance...
