20 Min UPPER BODY WORKOUT at Home with Resistance Band

A complete upper body resistance band workout! This workout will target the shoulders, back, chest, biceps and triceps to make this a great upper body workout to maybe do once/twice per week depending on other training!
You will need a long band, there are many bands with different resistance so try to play about with positions to gain the next resistance so it is difficult but also that you can perform full range of motion.
When performing the push ups, it is the top part of the push up that really where the extra work from band occurs (as you will surely see me struggling to gain extension of arms at top)! So really push up as high as possible to really gain the benefit of this resistance band chest workout!
Make sure to challenge yourself by moving hands down to increase resistance as much as you can!!!!! It will be then a very difficult workout!! 😉
Biceps and back are targeted also so make sure to keep elbows in when curling and flat back and full range of motion as much as possible as this is also a resistance band back workout!
We have 10 exercises, both compound and isolating to work through for 45 seconds each, 15 seconds to get ready for next exercise. We then repeat to bring us to 2 minutes in total!
SHOULDER PRESS
PALMS FACING PRESS
FRONTAL RAISE
BENT OVER ROW
SUPINE ROW (palms facing away)
BICEP CURLS
UPRIGHT ROW
REAR DELT SQUEEZE
PUSH UPS (or lying chest press)
TRICEP PUSH UPS (or tricep press)
This is definitely a resistance band arm workout also so it is up to you do make this as challenging as possible!! Definitely make it so!! 💪👊🏼😉

I've enjoyed your workouts since my daughter suggested them about a year ago. But since I've been in quarantine due to international travel, these have been FANTASTIC and have helped me make the best of this isolation in a small room. Resistance bands are light and easy to pack (the water filled weights were a disappointment!!) This workout is my fave so far. Thank You Caroline!!!

Done with tubes [except the push-ups]. I've done some of your resistance band workouts before, so I took the same tube I used then. Started the video. Did some reps. Paused the video. Took my heavier tubes. Smashed it! Another great workout, Caroline!

Excellent Melissa and welcome! So happy you like this workout!! These are my daily workouts and I always do HIIT Sunday morning!! And a 1 hour full body every Friday! I change it up during the week so could be core or triceps etc! I hope you find lots of fun, challenge yourself and grow stronger! Hi Caroline, Thankyou for another brilliant band workout...you are spoiling me this week!! This one was very intense. I think my band may be a bit shorter...I simply couldn’t move my arms for the overhead presses...the band simply wouldn’t stretch. So I did them kneeling with the band under my knees which worked well. Did this after a walk rather than a run today...it is getting very hot here for running...29 deg today and predicted 34 deg tomorrow in Reading!!! Thanks again, Matthew

I strength training at home but do long work hrs on particular days so looking for a way to get some workout in my lunch breaks? Did you use the purple band for the whole workout, sometimes it looks black in the video? Is it a 35-85lbs resistance band? Are the colour codes not matter the brand all the same in resistance weight? Sorry for so many questions but looking to purchase the purple band. Thanking you in advance for any help on this.

Outstanding! I had to use 3 different bands. I began with green (up to 75kg), then the purple (up to 45kg) and then black band (30kg). When I couldn't do more push ups, I did them with the band but looking up to the ceiling to finish. It is good to have at least 2 or three different bands.

This is hand-down one of the best upper body total workouts. If done correctly, the results are seen. Sometimes I add ab lifts starting in the same position as the rowing pulls. Thanks!
