Problem was a faulty exhaust valve governor.
When I finished putting the top end on, the linkage arm for the valves wasn't going all the way down letting the valves open. Started it valve cover off, revved it WOT, only opens a 1/4. Purchased a different governor. Linkage arm moves all the way down now. Rode the bike...Rips now!
My cr bogs from 3/4 throttle to wide open. Once i get to the powerband, bike just doesnt pull.
Mods... Fmf sst pipe w/ shorty silencer, phathead high compression head, Boyesen rad valve..
Main jet 340, pilot 50, needle stock, air screw 2 turns.
Gonna check my reeds, then drop down a size on the main jet, and see how it runs
Update: Checked reeds, there good. Lowered main jet to 360, slight difference seems more crisp, but dont rev out clean.
Next... check powervalves

also could be electrical. sometimes you gotta bore out the screw holes for your stator and tweak it. ecm. coil. sometimes you can spark clean but under a load the spark will diminish if thats true sometimes you will spit oil out the pipe. fouled plugs

maybe your hit the power band if you went in Hugh enough rpm's to hit it. the power band is quite high but you know when you've hit it.

Do u thinks he could be the carb setting coz I’ve messed wiv the air screw and b4 it was kinda hitting powerband after I did the rebuild

i got the same problem but i have power in high rpms. just when i open up fully it bogs and crazy to say my cr 125 2001 has back fired and the only time it does that is when it’s warm. runs good when it’s cold opens right up but once it gets warm it doesn’t even wanna run right constantly bogging every gear

How do u know if ur hitting power band or not? I just started riding dirt bikes on my yz 125 got to 3rd gear 37h was my highest didnt seem to hit powerband because people say it hits hard

this can be a lot of things but usually its a problem with the powervalve. could be carb related. it could actually be many things. reeds. etc.. if you know for a fact your top end is good and crank seals are good then your airtight. work from the reeds back to the air filter. but check the governor gear and powervalve linkage. if you have more info I might can help
