2000 WS6 Build with Stock Parts - Step 1 - SLP Lid - 98-02 - F-Body

We are looking to make the WS6 in to the vehicle that I think GM should have made it from the beginning.
This will include the following:
- Short stick on the factory Hurst Short Throw shifter (done)
- Exhaust with quad tips - Corsa (done)
- SLP Lid (done)
- Headers - these were obviously not available in 2000, but a necessity.
- LS6 Intake
- LS6 Cam
- 243 Heads

Options for aftermarket lids are limited. I'm in the process of going back to a lid as well (k+n fipk currently) and I spent hours on forums searching what fits best. Was gonna run a ftp 98mm since I have a slp 85maf but I heard from multiple people the lid hits the ss hood. So I think I have no choice but to go with a slp. Hawks makes a lid as well but I havent seen any feedback on them.

Good video, switched mine out but where does the 90 degree hose go down to? Mine doesn't have a hose, just a hole there. I can grab a hose no problem, but don't know where to connect it to. Is there somewhere in the engine compartment? Apologies, I'm a newb.

If you didn't have a hose in your prior lid then that hole just gets plugged.

I'm switching back to the SLP but not for any real difference in throttle response or power. I would say the SLP fits the car a little better.

Nobody makes a better fitting lid than SLP that still looks close to factory? My 2000 Formula is all o.e. 52000 miles and I want to keep the stock look also.

Not that I'm aware of, you could always modify a factory lid and remove all the baffling and the wings, it would take some work but it would honestly probably look really nice.

Hey Brian, I already sold it and went with an SLP intake and factory style label. Hope you can find one!

I pulled it off, inspected, it looks good, so I just tossed it back in. If it goes it goes, but until then.. it stays :)

How do I get the MAF off the stock air lod. It's like bolted stuck. It won't wiggle out at all???

Try heating it up a bit with a hair dryer or heat gun, but don't do it so much that you melt the plastic. It should be a slip fit.
