How I wired multiple 2000W 240V GTILs (grid tie inverters with limiter) to a USA split phase breaker panel. #solar #gridtie #inverter
PLEASE NOTE - Electricity is serious stuff. If you have doubts, please use a qualified electrician. It's not worth frying yourself, your GTIL, or home.
Things from the video...
- 2000W GTIL Grid Tie Inverter with Limiter
amzn.to/3S2xJc0
- SCT-013-000 CT clamp set (fits 100A service panel legs)
amzn.to/3vONLiv
- WAGO 221 lever wire connectors
amzn.to/48Nl4Bc
- Appropriately sized double pole breaker for your main panel type (CH, BR, Square D, etc).
For multiple GTILs you'll need a means to connect them safely.
- A sub panel (do not use bonding screw, ground and neutrals separate)
amzn.to/3Sub7CV
- A ground bar for the panel
amzn.to/47L47Wz
- A 15A breaker for each GTIL
amzn.to/4b9X3pu
- A wire run from there to the main panel.
- Some wire strippers.
My setup pushes no more than 15A (1800W per GTIL / 240V). 10/3 Romex will work as it can handle 30A but is not code. THHN / THWN will work. It's probably the most expensive thing outside of the inverter itself, especially any significant length.I leave that up to you.
