2001 Dodge Dakota Idler Pulley Replace - Squeaky Noise 

Glad I came upon this! My 2003 made the exact same same squeak and then the belt went very loose and is half off the drive pulley. So, I will replace the belt, idler and tensioner.

I got a 2001 dakota Sport. Same color as your dakota. It's a Beautiful truck. Mines a 3.9L V6.

I did just the opposite, I thought it was the tensioner pulley which I replace the whole thing but still got the squeaky noise so hoping it’s the idler pulley, wish me luck 🤪

your a better man than I, That wrench wouldda stayed rite ware it fell.

Oh and I like the rims on these year models. I don't like the other ones.

I have a dodge Dakota sport it's doing the same thing when you have the chance can you comment and let me know what the part was you had to fix it. I can't figure out why mine is making the loud squealing noise it does it when it's parked and it does it when I accelerate

You should of spun them pulleys to listen for noise first. I would of just replaced both of them anyway.

Hey i know this video was three years ago you probably have the issue fixed idk but i had the same problem with 2003 dodge durango and come to find out it was my alternator.
