Man, you should do a lot more videos. I've watched a lot of car videos trying to figure things out with whatever car I have for the time and I swear watching your video was how detailed, yet to the point on how I would love every video to ever be on how to do ANYTHING on a car. By far the most informative and clear video I've ever seen. Thank-You
I think this is the best comment I’ve ever gotten on anything in my life - thanks so much for that!!! That’s definitely my goal, to be clear and concise, I appreciate the feedback! I hope one day can spend more time making videos!
Thanks for the info! Replaced tie rod ends and strut. Got it working and installed thanks to the vid. Working on the linkages now, and I've got a rusted nut on one side, which I'm guessing was the original one. Sprayed penetrating oil after giving it a few tries with no success. Waiting for morning to see if it needs a conversation with a hacksaw.
@@fiveohmxco liquid wrench and a breaker bar with cleaning the threads using a wire brush got it. Used 2 jacks to make room to maneuver torque wrench in for buttoning it up and for taking off with a breaker bar. Didn't have a torch handy, but they have worked for me in the past.
Good video! I'm especially surprised you got an old civic in such a good condition. Mine is extremely rusty, so the cutter pin broke and I had to drill it, then the bolt for the steering broke so I'll have to order a new part.
In general this model Is it flexible or hard On bumps and bumpy roads, because I compare with Hyundai Verna more flexible than Civic same model 2001??!
So kinda weird.. we got these struts off amazon and they wouldn’t fit well (required outer tie rods to be unthreaded too much) and tried another set from Autozone and same issue. So I’m guessing the car had something weird done by previous owner unfortunately
khow did the ride turn out afterwards, was it a much harder ride? I also have a 2001 honda and went to swap the springs from the complete strut assemblys to stock junkyard springs because the ride turned out much stiffer after the "quick strut" install. Now since I distured the strut bearings, they arent happy and are making popping noises when I turn as a result of disturbing them. I cannot find a replacement strut bearing thats the same as mine. I dont remember if the new struts(installed in 2016) were monroe quick struts or gabriels or whatever.
Hey unfortunately not sure if the ride quality changed. This was on my sister in laws car. I know it fixed the thumping/popping noise from bumps but not sure if softer are stiffer :/
Thanks a lot for your video, my Honda and my girls Nissan both need at least struts before inspection is due end of month and end of the following month. Glad I can save some money now at least doing the Honda, I'll have more money to put towards my mystery rando. overheating problem, block test stayed blue at least but who knows... at least winter is coming.
