I have a 99 zx6r still riden today. It's black purple mica color! It's my first bike, been riden for 3 seasons and got it for a steal from my buddy who was 2nd owner. $800.00 For rideable motorcycle can't beat it!
The Candy Lightening Blue '01 ZX6R was, and still is my first bike. I call her, "Betty Blew". Love this bike more than my '05 ZX10R widowmaker As a beginner rider at age 40..... she is as exhilarating as having a 22 year old mistress but certainly a far safer choice. Some thought I was a fool for buying this bike as a tool to temper a budding mid life crisis.... "It's too fast!,,, it's too much power! It might be an expensive hobby! It might be dangerous! You might DIE!!!!", they said. Too fast?? Too much power? Expensive? Might be dangerous? Might die?? Pfft..... I assure you the 22 year old mistress would most certainly been too fast, too much power, and very expensive!! And if my wife caught me riding a 22 yr old that wasn't Betty Blew, i'd be in absolute danger of imminent death. Loved the review! Cheers!
That would be an 02 if it has the 636 engine, (unless someone fitted a 636 motor into a 2000) This gen ZX-6R was a 600 for 2000 and 2001, switching to a 636cc engine for the 2002 year. Then it was a completely new model for 03 with fuel injection radial brakes, upside down forks and new looks, (still a 636 they also sold a ZX-6RR: A 599cc machine homologated for racing in Supersports).
So, how do you find it? I just bought a 99, i bought it for my son initially but i'm loving it so it might have to be added to my collection of bikes. :-)
@@guanjun1178 Thats so annoying when that happens. I once saw an ad for a 74 Ford Falcon XB Coupe (same car as Mad Max's is based on) rang the guy, made a deal, drove from one end of NZ to another towing a trailer, including a ferry across the Cook Strait, only to get there and the dickhead reneged. Even after i offered him $1000s more than the agreed price. Drove home VERY pissed off. I found out later he had done this before, apparently the car is still in his hands but rusted beyond any hope of saving. GL on finding another bike, you still going for a ZX-6R or not bothered?
love my j2 would never part with it this is the most fun bike out there when that ram air system kicks in you have to hold on for dear life wack it open and you will see what i mean
QUESTION, I have the same bike….the fuel peacock does it have to be turn up facing the arrow point above matching with that or does it have to be facing down to be on the on position for the fuel? According to the bike the valve does not open to the right , every motion starts from the left side? So my question is what way is the ON? Confused about that…
I just got one and it only has 7000 miles on it!! But it was made into a race bike but never raced and sat for most of its life. So saying that it has no headlights etc. where would I find all the lights, fairings to fit the lights and horn for a good price?
google bike fairings there are some chinese ones that are inexpensive and pretty nice do your home work, or search ebay facebook etc and gather parts. Maybe find some where to post want ads a guy who converted his to race bike may have the parts he wants to unload. or check for bike junk yards lights and stuff easy fairings usually trashed but the after market ones can fill that gap. I have seen some on line that you have to modify a bit to fit perfect but are decent quality at half the factory prices.
That depends on some things from the rider. Size, ever ride anything with a clutch? Your overall confidence to do something new is huge as well. It can be a good beginner bike for someone who is overall pretty confident in their ability to learn something new. Tall enough to sit on the bike comfortably, and having some "touch", with the clutch. More so the clutch, gas, brake relationship is a decent one or at least understood you don't let it fly out when changing gears or getting underway. Hope that helps a bit.
Cool my daily, people have always tuned these carbs wrong, shorten the vacuum lines and take two fuel filter out, and beer bottle sync the carbs and boom bike actually goes 202 mph 🏁🏜️💪🤫🔧🏍️✨💚
In my opinion I hate all the sharp edged bikes today with super high tails and angular fairings. Like the late 80s early 90s with the smoother forms of fairings.
Yeah and the 748 those were the sharpest looking ducatis to me but then I love 90s jap sport bikes, the new sport bikes are to sharp edged and angular for my tastes. I know it is all taste some like new ones I like older ones. i like the smooth flow of older body work. The round dual headlights in an old yamaha and kawasaki sport bike just was my cup of tea. Would love to have a new sport bike with 90s body work true retro mod start with great bike but graft on older body work. Like car guys do older looks all modern power reliability and suspension and tech features.
Was replacing my fuel pump and disconnected the battery once i installed the battery back in my bike won’t turn on the cluster lights up but doesn’t even click to start nor does the odo even say anything what could it be ?
There are kits you can get. We get a simple bracket as it seems to be the cleanest and then mount the turn signals to that. Typically you can find them online. Something like this: www.jpcycles.com/product/100-1015/psr-usa-universal-tail-section-license-plate-bracket-with-signal-tabs?PLA-PSR-USA-Products&:pla-940808413840_c__100-1015_CjwKCAjw3qGYBhBSEiwAcnTRLkbT0aIs_by9ikFwEJtcOw_GSipw_rKsdeBPDQ86CrKOqFBKnrVyIxoCCEsQAvD_BwE&gclid=CjwKCAjw3qGYBhBSEiwAcnTRLkbT0aIs_by9ikFwEJtcOw_GSipw_rKsdeBPDQ86CrKOqFBKnrVyIxoCCEsQAvD_BwE
Trouble with all bikes, especially older sports bikes, is the amount of bad taste, aftermarket crap, (sorry, "goodies" :-))) some owners like to plaster all over their bikes. As the saying goes "Theres no accounting for taste" :-)
