I kinda really want one, since it's basically sporty and fancy ek civic sedan you could fit all the cool tuning bits made by japanese manufacturers and have a really cool and unique fun car
Not a bad review considering no track, but the ride is not 'good' its pretty aweful but thats forgiven by the the best front wheel drive handling you are going to get
Had one, if I'm honest I thought it a bit gutless, mondeo v6 felt quicker (even though on paper it's not). Rock hard ride ( not good for your back) and eventually it threw the Conrod though the engine block at 46k, so all in not a pleasant ownership, but strangely I miss it
"I don't think anyone in the world would want to lose the MG octagon forever." Jeremy Clarkson: "I would." *Comes barrelling up behind the MG and overtakes* "Now THIS is a BMW 330Ci Clubsport and it can blow the MG into the next dimension!"
I highly doubt Clarkson would day that. He was keen on classic MGs and was rather fond of the ZS and ZT. Plus no one wants to be seen in a fucking BMW. I've owned enough of them to know they're absolute shitheaps. Least unreliable cars in the road.
I think they were great cars. They look brash and in your face, (and far better than most modern cars - I do prefer these Mk 1s to the Mk2s), handled really well, were great fun to drive and really supportive, comfortable seats. .Certainly not slow either. A top old school sports saloon. Did have a very hard ride and was pretty noisy, with a lack of mod-cons, (even for 2001), but I don't care about those things. I had a ZR 160 and they are great fun. Sadly mine was prone to niggly electrical gremlins
Oh, and I love the turn of the millenium clothing as worn by Glenda here. Certainly no loathsome skinny jeans, (the relaxed fit, low slung trousers with crop top typical of the time look great on her). Love much of the fashion of those times, a beaded necklace would have been great as well. I sound like an old git, but take me back please. I hate 2022
@@TassieLorenzo obviously this is the V6 version. But the K series engine,, particularly in 160bhp form on the ZR, is a great free-revving, sweet-sounding engine, which thrives on high revs. Much like the much revered Honda V-Tec. Lotus know what they are doing and they were quite happy to use it. K series was lambasted for blowing head gaskets, (which it could do, particularly when revved from cold, with little monitoring of coolant levels and not maintained well), but I'v heard the V-Tech is rather prone to this issue as well. You don;t hear that bandies about much though, do you?
@@mattylamb9194 The most popular VTEC engines are extremely reliable (B series, H/F series, K series 4-cylinders, C series & J series V6s). I've never heard of head gasket failure being common, the J series SOHC V6 have issues on the cylinder deactivation VCM models only. Automatic transmissions (especially behind more powerful V6 engines) is what Honda is not good at.
