I know it’s probably too late, since this was made 5 years ago. But you can use a small flat punch and get those two bolts in the top loose with one or two hits. Saves a hell of a lot of time.
But what did u do to fix it??? I had the ignition fixed due to stolen..since then the car starts hard (pumping gas) and stalls if not pushing gas pedal...could this be the issue for that...any help
Your channel neglected to tell your viewers that the reason that new ket gets stuck in the new ignition is that the new key needs to be programmed. The immobilizer does not recognize the new key because the chip inside is blank. The only way to remove that new key is to disconnect the negative battery cable and then a lock smith or dealership will take the old key, obtain the identified codes and then use those codes for the new replacement key. Locksmiths can "clone" the new key to the old key. Information is power and providing the correct and complete information to viewers is important. Nonetheless, great video!
Jeez ! 1998-2002 Honda Accords . Don't strip whole car . Remove top and lower covers ( be careful as some models have 3 screws) drop steering in lowest position . Use a centre punch and small hammer to undo shear bolts as they are always pretty loose . Replace same way !
Mine seems to have a remote start wired into my ignition switch harness.. which makes it more complicated than plug and play. what would be my best solution? splice the plastic end the goes into the ignition into the existing harness? Or is there something I'm missing? Some advice would be great.
where u find does numbers to bipass da swich tha one time..i have to do that to my car so i can bring it to da dealer to program da keys..where r does number ..da one u use pumping da brakes..couple times
I appreciate this video. However, it appears that you have to lower the steering column and unplug quite a connectors to complete this. I have practiced this on a few junk Honda's. Any ideas or tools you used to make this easier?
Thanks for the helpful video. Where did you find the 5 digit code for the start bypass? I will be doing the same job soon and will need to drive it to the dealer as well. Please let me know, thanks.
