Your supposed to scrub it and if it doesn't start after cleaning press the gas pedal down to floor crank engine right as soon as engine cranks take foot of gas dont hold it!
Check coolant temp sensor, common problem with this vintage Civic. Coolant temp sensor reads out of range, if you hook it up to a scan tool you can check the temp reading and verify if it is close to the temp of the engine. A little after the fact but it may help someone before firing the parts cannon.
Dear, I have the same civic and same problem. But the problem is not this bad. My car sometimes takes a little longer to start. Doesn't misfire, doesn't hesitate while accelerating, no poor idling, no check engine light, no smoke etc. But yes my car sometimes does the same. thing. I'm so confused that either it is a weak battery, fuel pump, coolant temperature sensor or what? What do you think?
@@brysonshires9742 mines was doing the same as this. Changed fuel pump,ECT, sensor, coils all at once when I cranked it it did the same for about 2 minutes then it just cranked and never started back up. I re installed all original parts back in car and it's still cranks but won't start any idea?s🤷
First of all, a car needs three things: fuel, air, spark, compression and a fourth thing,. Timing.. secondly, if it's a fuel delivery problem, check to see if fuel filter, fuel injectors or lines are dirty and or clugged , check main relay, as well, by applying starting fluid in the throttle plate, and yo you should have clean the throttle body.. as carbon build up causes not to start sometimes.. Third, if it's not a fuel problem, it might be spark, check for proper ground, and check that proper NGK plugs are installed. Check ignition system. If it's not spark, check for compression and timing.. otherwise, check ignition switch.
Bad crankshaft position sensor, or coolant temp sensor. I have the same issue with my 02 civic lx. When you go start it, give it a little bit of gas, and it should start I’m replacing both of my sensor soon aswell. I’ve already changed the crank position sensor, but those tend to be faulty
Just so you know, it is an electrical issue. I had the same problem with these models and found when you slam the hood or the car door the car would crank almost every single time. It sometimes is the crank sensor wire that burns into, and then sometimes it has been the ground to the ignition and when releasing the key very quickly it would jar the ignition and crank.
A car needs 5 things to run 1- yes it needs power but not only cause. (Electrical). 2-(fuel) which is most likely the issue is fuel. Clean your fuel injectors holmes. 3-(spark). 4-(compression).5( timing)
@@levimellen9649 ayo but did it work I got this issue going on rn ik this hella old but I need some damn help I’m bout a buy the crank position sensor but might check my injectors next
People this ignorant should not be allowed to own, drive or attempt to repair cars or any machinery. I’m not sure if I am more angry at the hack trying to teach others to abuse vehicles or sad that the machine is so mistreated.
