Just successfully replaced the same assembly on the same year LeSabre...much simpler than I anticipated so thanks for recording this. For what it's worth, I was able to complete this solo by using a 2x2 in the right side hole to hold up the window. I thought about using the tape but didn't want to clean up the residual adhesive. Fun fact: the driver's side window is now screwed up...the front two have failed within a couple weeks after 17ish years. The common fail, other than the motor, seems to be the steel cabling getting bunched up/frayed and, in my opinion, not worth trying to get back on the spool. Thankfully, I paid like $27 for each side on ebay. MUCH cheaper than one I need to replace on our '95 Lexus.

I have a 2001 and this worked out pretty good. I only had two screws holding the panel to the door frame. Had about 3 rivets towards the front of the door 2 towards the back of the door and 2 along the bottom that just popped out and then I lifted and pulled the door panel off. Thank you for your video.

Thank God for this video, rolled my window down and it wouldn't roll back up. Was able to push it back up before it rained or somebody tried breaking into it LOL.

Thanks, my 2003 lasabre panel just pried off at bottom and sides then lifted up off door, no hidden screws at all.

Replace a lot of window mechanisms over the years and every car is different, first time I didn't have to find out the hard way how to do this car as I broke plastic clips and had to get replacements for those also, Thank you.

I thought you might like to know the entire assembly including the motor from Amazon brand new was only $40 dollars, I was shocked, I was expecting more like $140.00 dollars. @@livecarbuild One small piece of plastic broke on the power unit. Didn't take long, got the black goo on me. Door must have been fixed or painted. They put a permanent screw in. That was the longest part to get loose. Now guess order the unit. The wire came off the spool, all for a .25 cents in plastic. Sigh !!!!!

@@joelstolarski2244 Yes sometimes the smallest things can cause big problems. Sounds like your figuring it out pretty well though. Best of luck and watch those fingers. Dont get them pinched.

Remember to loosen window clamps 1st lol, and ya don't have to crank down on them choke up on the ratchet and feel how taunt it is there vary good clamps. So not to tight you can break glass okey....

@@Yourengineeringstandpt You are correct. Do be careful of not over tightening the clamps. Most clamps grip the window well and there is no need of going crazy tight. Glad it went well for you.

or the lights or the door handle there is only one harness for the entire door panel (shown at 2:29) then it all comes off in one piece

I ran into some "comb" inserts in those connectors. I think, red, white, blue. One went in the connector for the motor power. The rest? Idk.

Great video, I own a 02' buick lesabre, they are great cars in my opinion but yeah these windows haha I'm working on the passenger right now, I also own a 99' Saturn that has the old style hand crank windows, man I gotta say Saturn did so many things right on their cars before GM took control of them in 2003, after that year they were junk.

I have a 95 Park Ave. My window motor is working but only rolls window down 1/4 of the way. I can lower the window all the way with a hand on each side. After lubing, it goes down with ease. Once down, it will only roll up 1/4 of the way, and motor just chugs. But I can raise window with both hands and lock it in place my hitting the roll up button. DOES THIS SOUND LIKE A BAD MOTOR? Is there a nylon gear or something that is worn out that could be replaced, or best to just buy a new motor assembly?

Hi Joel Justin The best way to know is to actually take the door card off and have a look inside. More than likely you need a new regulator. That being said it is entirely possible that something came loose but not likely. Please keep us filled in on your project outcome.

All GM cars and Chrysler gave me tons of trouble with the windows going out. I just put a new switch box in the driver's door of my 2003 Buick Lasebre and now the passenger door track is broken and I have to replace the entire track assembly. Unbelievable!

Once the window regulator is loose from the window itself with the two pinch clamps you can remove or replace the window as it will slide right out at this point. Yours is already broken and out so just loosen the two pinch clamps at the bottom of the window,, clean out the broken glass and install the new glass into the clamps and your done. Don't over tighten the clamps to the glass.

Hi Jeffery. Yes it was a 10mm and I was using a small ratchet so I wouldn't over tighten. Especially the clamps that hold the glass. Be careful to not over tighten those. Be extra careful to be sure the window will not drop on your hand... use the tape to hold it up well. Good Luck
