With a mere 18,500 miles on the clock, this rare gem is one of just 317 produced for the US market between 2002 and 2005, and one of 90 in 2003. Carbon fiber accents throughout add a touch of allure, making it a highly sought-after collectible that promises endless thrills to the next fortunate owner.
The journey begins with the first purchase of the car by an internationally renowned (unnamed by request) actress and heiress. During her ownership, an accident occurred on a rainy day, resulting in damage to the driver rear wheel and suspension, along with minor scuffs on the quarter panel. Rest assured, the GT2 underwent meticulous repairs and was certified roadworthy at a trusted Porsche dealership, with no engine, transmission, or frame damage detected.
Subsequently, this GT2 found itself in the possession of a prestigious import dealer in New York before making its way to the Manheim auction, where Pinnacle Motors in Florida became its new home. Finally, in July 2015, the current owner seized the opportunity and acquired this automotive gem from Pinnacle Motor Cars in West Palm Beach, Florida. Prior to the purchase, a pre-purchase inspection ensured a thorough evaluation of the GT2's condition. Following the acquisition, the owner took the car to California and entrusted Lucid Motors with its maintenance needs. With occasional drives to revel in its performance, the owner eventually prepared the GT2 for the prestigious Monterey Car Week in 2019.
Taking meticulous care, the current owner brought the car to Scientific in Pasadena, instructing them to comprehensively inspect and address any necessary repairs. This led to essential maintenance tasks, including the installation of a new clutch kit, crank seal, slave cylinder, engine and transmission mounts, spark plugs, and fluid replacements. Additionally, an installer integrated the original radio with Bluetooth functionality, allowing for seamless audio experiences while retaining the option to revert to the original setup.
Stepping into the cockpit, you will find yourself in a race-inspired environment. The black leather interior exudes elegance, boasting exclusive carbon fiber trim on the instrument cluster, radio panel, and shift knob, elegantly contrasted by silver accents against the Speed Yellow center console. Take hold of the three-spoke carbon fiber steering wheel, accompanied by a matching handbrake lever and GT2 door sills, all enhancing the car's distinctive character. Speed Yellow seatbelts and black carpet floor mats, embroidered with the iconic Porsche logos, complete the package, creating an environment where passion and luxury intertwine. Factory-fitted 18" monoblock wheels, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) with matching Yellow calipers, and Yokohama Advan A052 tires further enhance the GT2's performance.
To preserve the GT2's impeccable exterior, the car underwent an extensive clear paint protection film application, ensuring its paint remained in pristine condition throughout the thrilling journey to and from Monterey. The car was then entrusted to Werks 2 to enhance its performance, where the suspension, power steering, and rear end were expertly rebuilt. Through diligent corner balancing and fluid changes, the GT2 achieved an optimized driving experience that dreams are made of. Moreover, an unforgettable moment awaited the GT2 and its owner when Porsche extended a special invitation to Willow Springs. There, the car took part in an official Porsche commercial, immortalizing its remarkable presence on the track, even though the commercial itself never aired.
