thought the subframe had to come down on the scenic, mr clutch put one in my 1999 1.6 scenic years back im sure it had to be dropped!. cracking job as a;ways mate!!!!!!

One would argue that older cars are simple to work on but this car proves different. What an absolute cock of a work this car is, respect tp this guy for doing it, i dont even have the nerve to go through this video. Dude needed to remove whole engine bay to get to the clutch holy shit. How the fuck do you even manage to put all that crap back together, even if i filmed and watched the vid i would 100% have extra parts.
same amount of work for renault clio mk2 1.4, 1.6 models (2001-2005), although the 172, 182 clios would have an even bigger engine so even less room to work on so dropping subframe on one side would be required I would think

Hi, this is a very informative video, as I have 2001 Renalut Scenic 2.0 as well (same as the one in the VDO). One quick question. My 2.0 liter, I inherited from my parents, but there was a new gearbox installed and some parts need to be screwed back and all that. I have almost finished, but now struggle to find the clutch cable hook-in point at the pedal. It's there is none. Can you help me with a video on that?

Thank you. There was just enough room with a little bit of wiggle to get it through. But I think next time I get another one I’ll definitely slacken that side subframe a little bit as to make that little bit of room for some extra work space.
this all looks a bit daunting as I cant see anywhere to withdraw my clutch housing once its loosened. my subframe is already almost touching it. Had a mechanic quote me to do this, but he said if it was all too tight hed just cut my subframe and re-weld it rather than take it all off as its not constructed in sections that can be removed for access. 😱 think I’ll skip that.
at 13:40 you take a nut off a long stud, then put something on the end of the stud to either unscrew it or just loosen it, not sure if the casing itself is threaded. Cant see anything on the top of the stud that looks like you could fit a socket on it after the nut comes off. Ive got to do my mk1 cabriolet 1.6 clutch and I can see this little detail holding me up. Anyone know what im likely to need to get this stud out ?
Nice job done! If i need to replace gearbox, it is neccessary remove subframe, or can be whole gearbox removed away from car this way? My gearbox output shaft lost splines, i have replacement prepared for day it stop working. Thank you! Btw nice camera view, very understandable and good explained even without words...

Hey mate, Do you use the M18 mid torque or the High torque. Ive just ordered the mid torque but not sure if i should have gone for the high. I tend to just do basic diy stuff and the odd bigger repair on the drive.
