Thanks for the thorough video. By far the best video on removing the axle on these Toyotas. My RX350 I discovered has grease all over inside my rim. Got the kit today from the Lexus dealer $70.00 out the door.
Excellent instructions, thank you. The seal in your video leaked on my 2011 XLE AWD and I had to change it. I used NOS 20067 from NAPA and it worked perfectly for the driver side. Thanks again.
Hey, on Toyotas, if the axle isn't banging or bonking around, and seems to still be okay despite the boot being torn, most of the time the mechanics just re-boot and re-grease them. Sometimes putting an aftermarket CV can open an entire other can of worms the owner wasn't expecting. There's a reason Toyota axles cost a few hundred dollars apiece.
my friend good video but you put the 2 bolts that hold the Knuckle to the strut from back to front and the correct way to put them is from front to back
Hi, I have a 2006 Toyota van , I felt the steering wheel is shaking a bit when accelerating above 50 miles , and outer edge of both tires are worn out badly , so could this is a sign of fail cv axels or something else ? Thanks in advance
Thanks for sharing, number of bad components cause this issue, most of the time bad after market cv axles(only cv axles from toyota will fix it, very expensive) also unbalance tires, ujoints in the steering colunm, bad rims, bad steering rack, inner or outer tie rods, wrong size tires.
Thanks again. Managed to do the cv axle on Sunday. Your video was a big help. It wasn’t too difficult but, you definitely make it look much easier lol.
Bought me cardone they said for my yr and drivetrain went to put in today they dont mach up mind you i purchased them 3 yrs ago didnt need them but now i do rock auto has same with same part number how if they dont match driver sode is about 4 inches to short i somewhat measured passenger side got an estimate of 50 inches long cardone one is like 40 or a little over.. i cannot put them on itll be a disaster
@JMAutoRepairnum1 idk how says it's right I got them 3 yrs ago now stuck with them unless I call them and try and see if can take back but doubt it and how wrong if rock auto says it's same part number as the ones I have im so upset and confused what to do now I put it back in since it's wrong I have a squealing noise when drive it stops when I brake .... any idea ? Thanks for the reply appreciate you and the video
Great video I’m working on my daughters 09 Lexus is250 AWD her differential went out do you know what are torque specs on that differential There are four bolts on drive shaft, two 19mm bolts on bottom of the differential And three hex bolts on neck of the differential? 2nd question should I apply some grease on differential seals where cv axles goes Thanks
propeller shaft assembly x front flange 58 ft- lbf. propeller shaft assembly x rear diffrential companion flange 58 ft-lbf. center support bearing assembly no.1 x boby36 ft-lbf. you should lubricate the seals with oil. and thanks for visiting my channel. I really appreciate it.
@@mikimiki195 The Propeller shaft connects to the Universal joint flange by 4 bolts, These bolts are tightened to 58 ft lbs. thanks for visiting my channel.
most of the time you have to do aligment after replacing suspension parts, but if the vehicule pulls straight ahead and not to any side when driving then there is no need for aligment, also to do aligment other parts of the suspension need to be in good condition. thanks for visiting my channel I really appreciate it.
in this case you only do the affected side, for some other components it is nesessary to replace both sides but not on cv axles. you dont really need an aligment epecially if you dont remove tie rods but if you remove other suspension componentes then it would be good idea to check if you need wheel aligment.
yes you should add it if it leaks and check it it even if it doesn't leak, in this case I had just done the tranny fluid change on this sienna only like a month ago.
@@gabewalker7604 no it did not leak at all after replacing it. all was good, yes always look how the old one is so you can installe it the same way but it has at limit up to where it is supposed to stay.
In the video it looks like you put it flush with the edge of the case of the transmission is that what you did or did you push it all the way in because I am right here doing it right now lol
yes this is the link here passenger side for the same sienna ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yVhDQxXTXdU.html but it is schedule for this saturday coming up, thanks for for the visit.
