no into straight to the point on years and models. THANK YOU!!! I watched this video before and have been trying to find it again because I lost the paper I had with the years and models to get a throttle body and manifold off of used...
Nice job, I just bougt the minifold and throttle body for my 05 TL. Haven't installed it yet, due to an existing check engine light I need to solve first. I look forward to the results after the install.
@@supermediabro9782 yes I know I was fortunate to find the 3.7 throttle body used but the intake manifold I couldn't find it anywhere used so I bought it New 😬
i got a 04 accord v6 6spd mans. swapped with the 04 Acura TL j32a3 3.2L. I have rv6 headers. thinking about swapping manifold. Now i know i can have the j37 manifold on my j32. thanks brah
Update my idle issue was because they sold me wrong lower intake runners and it cause 6 very small vacuum leaks . Once I got the correct lower intake runners all has been fine and she runs and drives like a dream !!!!
@@timothymccready4624 the manifold didnt hav any holes for the iat sensor, u can either drill the manifold nd retap the thread or u can also put it on ur intake pipe. I also use the tl 3.7 tb gasket from oriellys
Unfortunately my trans went out nd ended up selling the car...upgraded to a type s...but yee the gains on the 3.2 was very noticeable, definitely better up top nd better throttle response.
Nice good set up. I know I'm a year late. But I just bought a 04 Acura tl 3.2 i want to do the same setup. How much did you pay for the manifold. Where can I get that cold air intake pipe. And did you use your stock runners
Thnkx..i got it from LKQ for around 200 nd throttle body from ebay for 100..for the cold air i had pipes laying around nd mocked it up..any aftermarket intake will wrk jus fine..nd yes stock runners, i ended up getting sum mdx spacers nd tht made a difference on the tq, pretty much brough the power band dwn sum...all and all it was a gud setup..i ended up getting rid of my 04 base nd got a 07 type s now..
I have a 2006 Acura MDX 3.5L. Can I swap it out the Intake Manifold for a 2008 Honda Odyssey from a Mini van 3.7l Intake Manifold? And, do I have to cahnge the TB or can I use my stock TB?
I believe those are the smaller 3.7 IM and tb, it should bolt right up to your mdx if your not using a cable for your TB...but the one one you want is the 2010+ mdx, zdx, rl sh-awd and tl sh-awd 3.7 IM and TB.
Does this fit an 06 auto because I’m thinking of getting one with the j37 throttle body the top plate j37 and the manifold thermal gasket so will it fit the 06?
Did you have to change the butterfly sensor on the left of the intake or did the one that came stock with the new intake work just fine? Sorry about bugging i was just reading the forums and it mentioned something about that
@talon_mike1721 I just found out of two guys who were able to put a J37A4 intake manifold on a 2000 acura tl base and another guy put it on the 02 type s. Which is the J32A1 (same one in all the second gen bases). They said they had to use the bolts that came on the j37A4 though and one used a p2r throttle body adapter and the other a pranks parts throttle body adapter so that they could use the stock throttle body and showed it works well. I'm sure they probably had to put the iat on their cold air intake but they have gotten it to work. I think I might say screw it and go for it on the type s project I'm hoping to pick up within the month. Shoot I might just start a little RU-vid channel for that so other people can learn right along with me if it does work. Lol.
@@lucastheproducer995 kinda not really...but if ur goin bigger on intake thn might as well go bigger on tb nd IM..evn if u go 4in intake the smaller tb nd IM will still hold u bak on performance.
Drill was easier thn the tapping part. But jus make sure wen u drill its straight, and for the tapping part, start slow so u can reassure tht the tool is goin in straight, thn slowly turn the tool.
@@yourfavoritetl8930 i think its worth it, gain sum power nd better mpg, so far i gained 3-4mpg over my average 21mpg..only time will tell if it goes up.
Not too sure how much hp gains but u can definitely feel the difference. And fuel economy gets better bcuz ur bring in more air so it leans out the stock afr...expect to get about 2-3mpg mayb more with the upgrade, nd thts jus cruising no smashing..
hows ur auto transmission doing , they blow a few months Of doing the swap with the more air intake it will cause a shift delay and burning ur clutch pack been there done that
Ummmm. No. Your intake has nothing to do with when the computer tells your trans to shift. Most of the earlier year trans are prone to failure. If you have an auto without a trans cooler, I suggest you get one now. Heat is the reason these trans fail.
Sp question is. I got a 03 tl with a j32. Anyone got any ideas if a newer "j37" intake manifold off a 07-08 j37 with bolt right up? I'm assuming so but I've been looking around and I was given half ass answers.
Dunno if you're still looking into this, but it should work fine. You'll need a cable throttle body though, as the 3rd gen TLs are drivebywire. So you can't take the advice given in this video too much. HeelToeAuto sells an entire kit for cars with throttle cables(Civics with J swaps, 01-03 TLs, etc). Comes with the manifold, top plate, gaskets, and a Skunk2 70mm throttle body.
Was there any time for the ecu to relearn the new throttle body? I just did mine yesterday but didn't have anytime to really drive it its still at my shop parked .
@@talon_mike1721 I think the place i got the lower intake runners from sold me the one for a j35a6 circle ports. I have a j35a7 oval ports I contacted them about this but as its the weekend they are closed I hope to get this resolved tomorrow. I'm pretty sure that this is my idle issues.
