A couple things. Relays can be tricky swapping out the horn relay can be misleading. The overflow tubing will become a problem sooner or later (replace it first $4) , it has 4 spots it can leak without being very obvious. A couple squirts every time you stop and evaporates. It's a critical part of the cooling system. Loosing just a pint in these during the summer is trouble. The radiator fan switch only comes into play when you turn the engine off. The ground side of the relay coil connects in two places. ACC line on ECU and the radiator switch. If you put in a new radiator switch and get no change you may have an ECU issue.
2002 Honda Civic LX. Radiator Fan & AC Compressor Fan immediately turn on when I start the vehicle from cold. Would a bad relay? bad fuse? or sensor cause this issue? Fans stay on the whole time and it's causing the vehicle to overheat for some reason.
Thanks. there is anything else I still have to check the last fuse you mentioned. Inside. That’s my only chance to look. Because is not working I changed the switch and is not working. And I did with the clip and it works.
Hey there question. I’m working on a 2005 Honda civic. There is no heat coming through fans and car will also over heat when worked hard. When heat is on no hot air comes through even when engine is over heating. I checked my fuses and did what you did in video. I was able to get fan started by jumping out that fuse in the fuse box in engine bay. What should I do now fan did turn on. But only when I jumped it out with pliers
bruh, i have been troubleshooting my civic 2005 for weeks too, but no luck just yet. My car was overheating and no heater although overheating has been fixed. I am not certified just an apprentice, so do it as your own risk if you plan to follow my steps. Anyway, first things i targeted to hit were finding external leaks (smoke, right?) and it turned out to be "cam plug" was loose and "EGV valve gasket" was no longer stay in place (thin and wet). After that, found another leaks around radiator and troubleshooted. Based on what i have researched so far about the fan will not run. It could be flay connections, corrosion or coolant temperature fan switch's fault (located around thermostate housing) meaning radiator fan is programmed to turn on when the temp. reach min 93 Celsius depends on vehicles. No heat? = troubleshoot in thermostant might be stuck opened? Heater core is clogged? Coolant hoses leaks or damaged? Relay or blow motor is broked? Hope it helps. I am not experted.
@@4WinterTires-uv1mrhey I have a problem to with overheating. My heater was working when I was driving it but every time an idled at a stop it would start to overheat so I had to turn on the heaters to cool it down. But this past days the heater sometimes blows cold air out. Anyways me and my dad put a new thermostat and coolant sensor but it’s still not working. Any ideas how to proceed.
Would do those exact checks, let the car run for a while and allow it to heat up, feel the bottom radiator hose, if it isn’t hot then you need a new thermostat
What if I did everything in the video. Even changed the coolant fan switch and the thermostat. They don't come on with mybac on. I pulled the connector from my coolant switch by thermostat and it still won't come on. With ac on or temp ok bet running temp. It works with a paperclip perfectly. I don't know what else to do. Man. I hope you see this it would be a blessing. Its our daily driver. Thank you in advance and for what you do
I have the radiator ran not turning. I checked the relay for the radiator and it works on other relay sites. What do you suggest? How hard is it to replace radiator fan on passenger side on 2004 Honda CRV? The AC is blowing hot air.
why my radiator fan works when I turn on my air conditioning system, yet it wont turn on automatically when the engine reaches the temperature that requires cooling ? I already change my fan switch but still it doesn't turn on unless I turn on my air condition and have both fans running constantly
So the game typically turn on at around 195 degrees. The computer will tell the fans to come on with the AC because it helps the AC run more efficiently. If your engine fan isn't coming on then chances are your engine isn't reaching the proper temp, or like is mentioned in the video you have an issue with a switch or relay.
Hey man! Great video, I’m having some issues with a civic that looks identical to the one in the video. Which leads me to my question for you, is that car getting parted out? If so where are you at and how much for both doors and the rear bumper.
Im having some issues with my radiator and cooling fan not coming on, I found I had a bad radiator fan and I put in a new coolant temp switch as well. The fans will still not come on but when I jump the coolant temp switch plug both fans come on. Any ideas other than I bought a bad coolant temp switch??
I checked everything like you've done in the video. I even replaced the coolant temperature switch and a new fan and still nothing 😭 please help brother!
Does anyone know if your fan can be bad even if you can spin it by hand as he showed. Only one on driver side turns on when I run AC or do the paper clip test. I checked all fuses, including relays, but they're all fine and not burnt out.
Wassup awesome video man I’ve got a 2004 Honda Element I recently picked up I’ve changed both fans radiator thermostat engine coolants sensor fan switch sensor fuses and relays all new and my fans only turn on if I jump them on the fan switch plug I’m very confused as to why my fans don’t turn on other symptoms are I have heat that’s not warm it starts warm then gets less and less warmer and the ac compressor does not engage I think because of low or no pressure in the AC system I would like to fix the fan issue before servicing my AC with Freon any help will be greatly appreciated
Is your check engine light on and/or does the needle on the temperature indicator on the dash go to the middle part? If your car is getting up to temp and your coolant level is full then the symptom of lessening heat that you described could be due to a clogged heater core.
@@LehewTech my car does reach a little under middle yesterday while driving it it went a little over the the middle as well and then back to middle then a little under middle towards the cold very odd ....when I accelerat I could hear fluid swishing and moving almost like a huge bottle of water being half full turning ups wide down and back and forth found that odd as well would that effect my fans? I also burped my cooling system car raised front end and filled it threw radiator
