I am watching this match when last day where Australia were tumbling down my brother and friends were playing cricket in the backyard and whenever the wicket fell i ran down to them and told them so and we all rejuvenated and celebrate India's miraculous success in that match.that memory still stick in my mind fresh, love those days
@Bobs Vegana I guess the Chennai test was washed out due to while Ind was set to chase 210,anything could happen but that hurt india'a chances to draw the series.
True. At one point, he was matching McGrath on account of wickets as well accuracy but then he started going downhill 2005 Ashes onwards, otherwise he was good for 400 Test wickets.
I still can't forget that frustrating partnership he did with Damien Martyn in the heat of nashik I think, he came as night batsmen and played till next day afternoon
@@aneetjojysam4488 That isn't true at all. Both innings were highly regarded at the time but they aren't remembered now because they were just half centuries and people forget was a terrible pitch it was.
Sachin had been undergoing tennis elbow during this period. What made Sachin great wasn't his tons of hundreds, it was his ability to play against top bowlers on tough pitches.
That's what test cricket is you always have chance to come back unlike t20s and one dayers. I'm not saying that you don't come back in shorter formats but there is so little time in shorter formats compare to test cricket.
The best team will usually win in test cricket. In white ball cricket, that's not the case. The best team doesn't always win. They could have an off day, or come up against an opponent that plays the game of their life. If a team has an off day in test cricket, they have the next day to rectify that.
The main reason Australia was able to win this series is that they kept VVS quiet in first 3 games. Excluding this innings, he scored a combined 54 in rest of the 6 innings he played.
Kris B sir your right but you needs to see the other side of the picture as well as IPL has made plenty of cricketer life financially they can compared them with richest Footballers and any other Athletes Otherwise cricketers after retirement they hardly afford to give good life to their family and kids And now if you talk around IPL ruined the life of test cricketers then you needs to watch players like Sachin , Sehwag , Kohli, Hayden , Gilchrist, AB De and manny more who used to play and some still playing all the formate in their own fashion
Kris B sir that’s your opinion which is as big as you and your states. Secondly, players never used to get that much money from international matches but Indian cricket board follow European league and EPL to start IPL so players can earn some money. You are from india that’s why India is a number one in all negative things in the world like Rape cases, murders, corruption, worse politicians and police, and millions of more, but when it comes to something positive and good then Indian and your the countries that came out from India like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Lanka , Afghanistan, Nepal and others, then they are at the bottom, because people in them countries think negative always
Kasprowicz was such an underrated bowler for Australia. Very reliable. Didn't really play that much in Australia compared to the tests he played away from home, which is where he was at his best.
I remember watching this match last day at my friend's house as our Dabba TV wasn't supporting at that time. I think I came afternoon by bunking the class and watching the match with the bag on shoulders just to feel good luck. Man..... What a day that was
Still remember that test match...rain arrives first day...and test match finished under third day...it takes only two days two finish...I was only 10 years old when I saw that match on TV
I also remember the match I'm 13 years old on day 3 came to lunch from school seen the target of 107 I thought will win after coming from school 5 clock india have won the match it is telecast on doordarshan
Ohh.. I'm watched that test match live. And now after 16 years I'm searching it during india australia series 2020-21 This test match unforgetble me because it's a first match run on my new television at that time.. Feeling nostalgic
This was epic. Great to watch the uncle almost cried after India picked gilchrist.cricket really unites us indians. And man those. days of cricket were pure emotions.
Childhood memories I was done my school and watching these highlights in the roadside TV .people are searching for me on that day as I was late both Australia and I got punished on that day
Please upload that match highlight of 2010 when laxman and ojha made india home with 1 wicket remaining against Australia....it was one of the hard earned victory india has achieved
@@anuragsupadhyay He will Always be legend... How many runs Did you score in international cricket? oh sorry in gully cricket... Saying is easy doing is tough....
@@anuragsupadhyay he scored unbeaten 140 in WC final, thats way significant than so called legends of India like Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly did in their careers
Maybe you are confusing with Dravid. He was the real bunny of McGrath. Averaged only 31 against him in tests and less than 20 in Australia. In comparison Sachin averages 37 against McGrath and 50+ against him in Australia.
yeh match mere sabse favourite match mai se ek hai.... muze aaj bhi yaad hai woh shaam.. tab muze laga tha ki din khatam ho gaya aur match draw hui.. par mere padosi ke ghar se chillane ki aawaj aayi aur mai unke khidki se aakhir ke 1 ya shayad 2 aakhir ke wicket dekh raha tha... and finally we won and celebrate that movement......🎊🎉🏆🏏☺️🥳🥳

After 1986 Australia toured India in 1996 for 1 test n lost 0-1, they toured in feb 1998 n lost first two tests n won last one. Series 2-1 India. They toured in 2001 feb, won first test but last next two. Series 2-1 India. They toured in 2004 oct and won this time 2-1. Shows their resilience.... Between 1994 and 2014 Australia has been best test playing team, most consistent one-day team.

India drawn the second test due to rain otherwise it could have been 2-2. In 2008 umpires stupid decisions costed us sydney test. Otherwise it could have been 1-1. India lost two test series due to lack of fortune.
@@ravitejakakarala7858 no i meant now Australia have won 2 icc events since india won in 2013 And this is the worst Australian team And all of us praise indian team with nothing to show for except win 2 test series in Australia Massive underachievement for us
Epic Game, Rob do you have the video footage of the test game between Australia Vs Sri Lanka 1999 in Kandy. If you do please do upload & send me the link. Thnkz
This match is emotion 😔😢😭😔😊😆😎childhood memory today t20i feel joke in front of these legendary matches ... times of hardcore enemy in cricket battlefield.....pakistan the arch rivel & the Australian domination ... it was very tough to handle it use to directly Pearce the heart that time 😅... when they beat us....t20i wc win was like taking back kargil ... time was hardcore man 😥
@@yoursxyz250 yeah sure, but he didn't offer a shot, he just literally used his pad to defend his wicket. You can't fucking do that, can you? Surely should have been out
Although India lost that series, but Beating Australia at that time was a great achievement in its own. Later MS Dhoni, Yuvi, Pieterson, Darren Sammy break the Aussies Legacy…
yesterday 's match was one of tge greatest match in border gavaskar trophy other being Kolkata, Chennai both in 2001 the one at Adelaide in 2003 and the Perth match in 2008. India could also have won the Sydney test if Australia would have played with only 11 players not with 15 players India were cruising to a historic win in that match but couldn't and that was the worst match ever in the history of cricket
hahahaha, australia had 11 players sydney 2008, you guys just can't handle losing, which is funny, because you've lost more test matches than you've won, so you should be used to it by now.
