Door lock actuator removal and replacement for the front driver side door. I was not able to lock from inside, from out side with key nor with the remote key. Main problem was with actuator motor assembly, that the gears were apparently jammed. The motor casing is not separable, but I was able to pry open on one side and move the gears with screwdriver and then the jam was cleared somehow. Thank you for watching, hope this was helpful to someone and sorry for the bad video and the editing. Here is the part number for the actuator assembly, in case you need to buy one. It's about $80. Part number: 81302F030.

Raf...this is a good instructional video. I just finished the job and your video was the best one for giving the internal workings. BTW, I broke the same clip! :-\ The issue I was having was that the doors would lock all by themselves, even if I had the keys in the ignition. This is a known issue with the 2006 Spectra. I replaced the whole unit with one I purchased from Amazon, and now the door locks no longer have a mind of their own!! Thanks for taking the time to make your video.

Mike Carderelli all my doors lock by themselves too. Which part did you replace specifically? The actuator or just the central door lock/electric windows switch electronics? Thanks 👍😎🇦🇺

Mike, I have had that issue on my 07 Spectra for over a year now and I'm just now getting at fixing it lol I unplugged the door lock actuator on my passenger side door and it stopped locking on it's own . I ordered the door lock actuator and will be putting it in hopefully Tuesday when my part arrives. Unplug each one until you find the issue. Dont forget the one for the trunk !

@@johnvodopija sorry...I just saw your question. The switch assembly was fine. I replaced the actuator on the driver's side. Still working fine although once in a blue moon, it will lock back up again right after I unlock it in really cold weather. Otherwise it's working fine now.
