This is a great video! Thank you! We have a 2008 Kia Spectra. passenger side door handle broke this winter and we already have the replacement handle. This video might save our family a lot of money if we can follow your example and do it ourselves.
Thank you for shooting this video brother, my daughter has the 2007 spectra door handle broke and the inside latch broke I can't figure out how to open the door this helps me.
bless you for this video ... my handle broke off in my hand the other morning when i was getting ready to take my daughter to daycare lol. Body shop was wanting a crazy amount to replace it. So now I will be doing it lol.
Great video. Helpful tip. Pull the plastic piece holding the key latch off and put the handle in first. It will be much easier to get the handle assembly in and connected. Then put the the part with the key assemble together.
Appreciate the video. Seems to be a common kia problem. I'm thankful for the video. I was going to take it to a shop to do it but to hell with that nonsense now.
to anyone having issues, there is a metal bar that sticks out of the key port. that has to be lose from the bolt and the handle needs to be in only about half of the way
Can you do it without removing the screw on the lock side. I'm not gonna mess with the lock side if I don't have too. I'm just do the plastic piece you did
@@NTGInternational Yea, It would be on me except you listed the repair and INCLUDED 2009 in your video. A 2009 set up isn't even close to the door you did.
I'm really glad I saw your comment. I'm about to switch my 2009 door handle and figured it would be this. Lol thank you. Did the 2009 seem easier or harder?
Check out " low budget emergency exterior door handle, 2006 kia spectra" by gabriel auto technician. I used a landscape fabric pin to open the door. At about the 2 minute mark.
@@jessicadavey893 yes, I just pop a new one in and had the door open right away but then I have to take off the inside to repair the inside door latch is still not working.
I heard you don’t even need to remove The door panel. You remove rubber plug on end of door and loosen the lock with 10 mm make sure it is magnetic. BAMM put new handle in and reverse steps. If you drop bolt then you will have to remove panel
