2004 Subaru Outback Wheel Stud Replacement 

Thanks for this awesome tutorial. I saw this about a year ago but since I now have two broken studs, going to do it myself. Also, just subscribed.

I live in Oz and 20 miles from a bottle of milk, so if I start one of these jobs I gotta know I can finish it. So thank you for this Video excellent clarity and the techniques on freezing the studs pulling them through and seating them was invaluable. However! I was doing two studs on the rear wheel of my Subie outback. I could not find a vid on stud changing on the rear end so I used your front end vid for its clarity and reckoned the back cant be too different from the front! Wrong! Ok. So if any one is doing the rear here are the differences. 1. you will need an extention for the wrench to pass through suspension members to remove the Caliper bracket. 2. The rear rotor houses the drum brakes of the hand brake and a lot of 'tapping is needed to get it off. 3. The handbrake drums shoes occupy a lot of space and it seems that you cannot get the old out or new stud through, but winding the hub around there is a couple of spots where there is just enough space and if you have fingers like ET it is a breeze otherwise little fiddling and faddling and its there. Other wise its all the same! All the best & Thanks.

Much appreciate the video got to the point simple understand my only complaint and it has nothing to do with you is that hardware stores don't exist anymore everyone in my area closed down years ago all we have now is Lowe's and Home Depot and their both a heck of a drive out of the way which doesn't work well when you only have one vehicle and is currently being worked on. Hell I remember there used to be at least three hardware stores within a 1-mile area up here now there's nothing ... it's a sad State of Affairs

Discount tire left me with only two working studs. I couldn’t drive it so I had to fork out 205 to have good year replace all 5. Definitely going to Napa and buying 15 more studs.

Did you unscrew brake fluid cap beforehand, Then once pushed calipers back with a c clamp and fitted all back you need to pump brake pedal till its stiff again then top up any lost brake fluid before screwing cap bk on.
