After getting a scan from a nearby auto parts chain the tech let me know it was bank 1 cam sensor, while ringing me up the tech advised me to watch a RU-vid vid prior to installing,, I was very fortunate to pick yours. The following day after viewing your vid 3x I started to prep before getting under the hood of my 2010 Pathfinder, opened the box and quickly realized they had given me the part for Bank 2,, took it back and had them rescan to verify and exchange for Bank 1. (dogged a frustration bomb!) 2hrs later completed job and no issues after 2wks. Thank you for being so detailed, all the best.

Watching this video a few times gave me the confidence to fix the P0340 on my 2012 Frontier today. Took less than 30 minutes! I figured there would be some sort of nightmare due to not being able to see much, but no - I didn't drop the 10mm, the clip released relatively easily, the bad sensor slipped right out, and I also managed not to drop the new sensor or the 10mm while putting things back together. The rear view of the engine with labels was key and allowed me to follow along in my mind as my hands felt around back there. I did manage to get cut on the sharp corner of a zip-tie, but if you're working on a car and you're not bleeding you're doing it wrong. Thanks!

Can't thank you enough for this tutorial! My 2010 was suffering the same symptoms...Had the code read and sure enough got a P0340. Ordered BOTH sensors from Nissan Direct. Driver's side was easy enough for me to do. The Passenger side was the most difficult....Not because I couldn't see it or anything...locating the sensor was fine since, being a "girl", my little/skinny arms/hands fit behind the engine JUST FINE....its just that my arms were TOO SHORT!! lol...managed to get the bolt loose and out but only my fingertips could barley reach the sensor...I didn;t have enough "grip" to grab hold of it. So, I called my buddy Ryan (who is much taller and has longer arms HA)...he was able to cut the sheathing off the harness to be able to bring it out far enough to disengage the clip! VOILA! I then successfully performed the ECU reset procedure (Since I don;t have a reader) and the Check engine light went out. I am back on the road thanks to YOU (and ok Ryan's long arms!)

Got Er Done! Thanks for the Help... Biggest problem are those Harness Clamps!! Off with the top piece put a folded drop cloth over the engine. lay into the engine and able to use both hands... only need a 10mm wrench, no room for anything else.. Saved a lot of money and a very do-able Fix... Thanks .....

Just a heads-up......I only had a P0340 code on my "05 Xterra but changed both sensors. As it turns out, both originals measured 1.2k ohms & around 2Meg ohms.......the new Hitachi's measure 1.2k ohms & around 95k ohms......both the originals are bad but I only got one code, so good idea to replace both as you did.......great video.

You need to mess with it and make sure its in there correctly. Could be as simple as replacing the o-ring withe original as I mentioned in the video. These aftermarket sensors aren’t the best and sometimes you gotta make some adjustments for them to work & read correctly

They are definitely super tight. Definitely want the sensor out, as I outlined in the video. You really gotta press it in to get it to budge. Try using gloves to give you some extra press without hurting your thumb. Worst case, take some needle noses and press it in with some pliers to get it to break free.

@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee Год назад
P0011 is in reference to the intake valve timing control solenoid valve. Nissan Vehicles are good for throwing both cam/crank codes with the p0011. Its a good chance its the solenoid, Replace the solenoid and clear the codes and you should solve the issue. The diagnosis procedure from Nissan’s FSM for the P0011 is 1. Check/replace intake valve timing control valve, 2. Check/replace crankshaft pos sensor, 3. Check/replace camshaft pos sensor 4. Check actual intake camshaft

Had PO345 on my ‘11 V6, replaced the sensor but still getting the code and starting rough. Could it be a harness or PCM problem? Would you also recommend the oem o rings? I got the cheap-o carquest sensor lol.
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee Год назад
It could potentially be the harness, but i would be more inclined to think its the sensor. If you still have it, try swapping the o-ring off of the OEM Sensor, clear the code…and see if anything changes. If that doesn’t solve the issue…you could always try warranty swapping for another sensor or testing the harness with a multimeter.

When I did the plugs and coils, I needed the intake to be taken off. Wouldn’t that make it a lot easier to get the passenger side out? Not criticizing, just thinking ahead to my replacement job next weekend.
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee Год назад
Its possible it might help some, but for the extra work warrantied, I don’t think the benefits outweigh it. This isn’t the most fun or accessible spot, but its not that hard that you need to start digging that deep into disassembling other things.

I've got a P0335 that says camshaft position center. Would that be the same as P0340 code as this one? 2005 Nissan Frontier 4.0 6 cyl.
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 7 месяцев назад
The P0335 is CRANKshaft Position sensor, not camshaft…which are the two outlined in this video. The crankshaft position sensor should be near the starter I believe. P0335 is crankshaft position sensor, whereas P0340 & P0345 are camshaft position sensors.

Yo BeeCee I followed your brake video for the Pathfinder, great job. I also followed this video because my bank 1 camshaft position sensor or (passenger side) is going bad and messing with my engine, I know this from the service engine code scan and symptoms. While wrenching the 10mm the bolt broke off and I can't get the sensor out. Tried with a local mechanic and the Nissan dealer and unfortunately they aren't too sharp of mechanics. What would you do to get this out? Have to take this on a 12 hour drive soon I need your opinion bro.

Hi! Thank you for this Video, as my Hanes Book is currently MIA. Quick Question: A Few Years ago the CPS went on my Mitsubishi Eclipse & I HAD to Buy an OEM CPS, bc I'd bought about 4 Aftermarket CPS & they'd Fail after approximately 24hrs. So, when my 2012 Nissan Pathfinder Popped the P0340 CPS Code a Couple Days ago, I was Afraid to Buy anything other than an OEM CPS. So, I Purchased the Hitachi CPS0008, which it obviously wasn't as Cheap as the Autozone/Advanced Auto Parts Options, but I Bought the Hitachi CPS0008 at Advanced Auto for $74.99 w/ a 20% Off Code, so I only Paid approximately $64 after Taxes, which was right around the Purchase Price of a Non-OEM CPS. My Question is if Performance Wise there's any difference between an Aftermarket & OEM CPS in a Nissan Pathfinder, since w/ the Mitsubishi Eclipse, my Mechanic was the 1 who told me after I'd already Purchased 4 Aftermarket CPS that he'd Found out the Hard way Years before that the Eclipse was Temperamental & it needed an OEM CPS & once I did that I shouldn'thave anymore Failures & he was Right. Is that not the Case w/ the Pathfinder CPS?? Thank you so much!! Wish Me Luck!! 😁
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 3 месяца назад
Good question! Really with any vehicle, this is a common issue and potential pain point. Personally, I had that issue with an Altima. Replaced CPS with a couple different advance parts, had issues….then put in an OEM Denso & it worked perfectly immediately. The Denso one even fit better. Which is something I touched on in the video, the O-rings. The problem with a lot of the aftermarket CPS’ is the o-ring isn’t perfect, and then it isn’t sitting perfectly once installed. So a lot of the time you can solve the issue with simply taking off the aftermarket o-ring & installing the old OEM one on the new part. In this particular truck in the video, I installed the advance CPS with the o-rings that came on them and it worked out just fine, so there’s that. OEM is always going to be the best option for something like a CPS, but you can definitely get away with utilizing an aftermarket CPS. I think you’ll be fine with the Hitachi, and if they do give you any issues just try swapping over the stock o-rings!
@ColorMeErin

@@TheOriginalBeeCee Thank you so much for the Reply! The Bank 1 Passenger Side (Right) CPS was a Pain in the A due to its Crazy Tight Location!! Especially, not being a Mechanic, or being Familiar w/ where Things are by Touch & literally having to Feel your way around like you're in a Pitch Black Room while in an Unnaturally, Uncomfortable Contorted Position on Top of your Engine. 😂 It took 5hrs to Find, Remove & Replace the CPS. 🙄🤦🏼😂 However, once Replaced, my Pathfinder Fired right up, Beautifully, w/ no more Temperamental Stalling at the Most Inopportune Times. I'm Glad that I Spent the Extra Money on the Hitachi OEM CPS, which again w/ the Discount Code it wasn't much more Expensive than the Aftermarket Store Brand CPS. However, I Love knowing that if Money's Tight (which it was this Time, but I didn't know then what I know now), now I know that I could get away w/ Buying an Aftermarket CPS & IF it's still being Symptomatic after Replacement, the Problem could simply be w/ the O-Ring VS the Part itself & it could be as Simple a Fix as putting the Original O Ring (as long as it's in Good Condition) onto the New CPS, so it's able to seat Properly. I definitely appreciate that Gem of Advice on the Swapping of the O-Rings! Especially, since I didn't think to do both CPS (But, again, Money's Tight), so I'm sure I'll be having to Replace Bank #2 Drivers Side (Left) CPS, but HOPEFULLY it's in the VERY FAR Distant Future. Haha!! I need Time to Recoup after being in such a Crap Position for so long! Thanks again OG BeeCee!! 🤙🏻

@@TheOriginalBeeCee HA! You're the only other Person I know that says "PITA". Anytime I've ever said that people were Confused by what I meant. Haha!! So, I laughed REALLY Hard when I saw that. 😂 As for my Homeless Buddies... Thank you! People don't realize just how much goes into taking Care of just a Couple, let alone 12 (It was 13, but Sadly, my Best Boy, Marco who was named after 1 of the Characters in the Lost Boys Movie, disappeared while I was Admitted in the Hospital back in November & he never came back... I'm still Grieving him, even though I'm holding onto a Shred of Hope that he'll 1 Day show back up. Last Year, I took in 2 Kittens in that were Born outside to a Feral Mom that in 6yrs I haven't been ankle to Catch, the Little Turd! The 2 are a Brother & Sister, that I named "Bodhi" & "Squirrel", who couldn't look & act more different from each other... "Bodhi" is a Longhaired Mainecoone Mixed Boy that looks like a Seal Point w/ Calico Colored Ears, whereas Squirrel is a Tiny Little Girl that I call a Tortabico (Tortoiseshell, Tabby, Calico Mix), bc she has all the Colors, Markings & Patterns of all 3. Then I have a Russian Blue Female named "Toots", an All Black Bombay Polydactyl named "Mr. Man" & an All White DSH named "Ingo". I've actually been doing ALOT of Research to start my Own Non Profit Organization, bc Colony Caretakers have Little to No Resources Available to us, bc you're only Eligible to Receive Government Grants & other Funding from Foundations & Peoples Estates who left Money in their Will to Help Animals, if you have an Established Non Profit. Unfortunately, the last few Months have been Ridiculous for Me w/ 1st ending up Hospitalized w/ Cellulitis in my Face back in November, which is so Rare to happen & I still don't know how it happened, but I had to be Transported to a Better Hospital to have an Emergency Surgical Procedure done, then in January I got Covid for the 1st Time & then last Month I got Strep, which I'd also never had before either & it was SO Painful, I started to develop a Fear of Swallowing... Bc it felt like I was Swallowing Shards of Glass, Metal, Rocks & Double Sided Sandpaper. Nightmare is an Understatement. Ugh!!... Then I just got a Phone Call from my Endocrinologist yesterday that I need more Blood Work done & another Thyroid Ultrasound bc they Located 2 Nodules & the 1 has all the Criteria of being something REALLY BAD. So, ALOT'S been going on, especially w/ needing to have 2 Tires put on & then the CMP Replaced, so I've been somewhat Sidetracked w/ Writing my Proposal for the Fundraiser. Anyhow, Grants only go to Established Non Profits & when you Contact the Non Profits & Rescues for Assistance who are Receiving Grant Money that they're supposed to be giving to someone like Me, I've been told over & over again that THEY need the Money... So they're getting the Money under the Guise of Helping others, but are keeping it instead. So, my Idea is to start my Own Non Profit, that I'll obviously have to Fundraise for bc I Read that it Costs approximately $3000 to become an Established Non Profit & then I can Apply for & Receive Grant Money from the Government, Estates & Foundations & then Distribute it to specifically Help other Colony Caretakers & once I get enough Funding, I can Branch out from there. Being a Solo Colony Caretaker is Expensive & I know of Caretakers who are taking care of only a Couple & I know of People who are taking Care of Colonies that 2-3x (24-40+) as many as I am by themselves w/ only 1 Income. I know what it's like to have to Pick & Choose what Bills I'm going to Pay & What Bills will have to be Late (Hence, How I ended up w/ a Tire that that got down to the Metal Threads Breaking & Sticking out like Broken Spokes on a Bike Tire... I kept pushing it bc I couldn't Afford it, but it finally Forced Me to Replace it & when I saw what the Tire looked like when they took it Off I almost had a Heart Attack bc of How Bad it was, bc all of the Broken Metal Threads were Sticking out towards the Underside of the Vehicle, so I didn't Realize just how bad it really was til the Tire was taken off! It was Uneven Wear, so the outermost Part of the Tire had Heat Tread, but the Innermost Area of the Tire was BALD, down to the Metal Threads. My Tire Light was on & I just thought I had a Shoe Leak or Bad Stem & would keep putting Air in as needed. Boy was I Wrong!! 😳🤦🏼)... But, anyhow it Sucks having to Pick & Choose what gets done, bc I need to Restock my Cat Food & other Supplies & I REFUSE to put them 2nd... They didn't ask to be Born outside, so I'm going to Help make them as Safe, Comfortable, Loved & Cared for as I can. I even keep Wet/Dry Food, Treats & Compostable Bowls in my Truck in Case I see any Strays in my Travels who look like they could use a Good Meal. That way I can put a Bowl down Fill it up & once they're done the Bowl will Break down & not Litter the Planet. Sorry so long!! I'm a Bit Long Winded when it comes to the Cats, unfortunately. But, anyhow, I'm DEFINITELY Excited about the Idea of having my own Non Profit Organization, but w/ Anything Good, it'll just take some Time. Thank you for the Kind Words! They're Greatly Appreciated!! ❤ & Thank you again for your Helpful Videos! Take Care! 🤙🏻 - Erin

Did u relearn the computer after ? I didn’t and have vibration kinda
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee Год назад
Naaa…. if I did or if it was needed, I would have mentioned/outlined it in the video. Vibration is kind of a weird symptom of this though lol. But if you’re certain you’re getting an issue now you weren’t prior to doing this job…..make sure the sensors are in good. Might have to take them out reposition them make sure they are back in 100 percent, or use the OEM o-rings like I mentioned in the video depending on the brand, so the seat correctly. I’ve gotten part-stores crank/cam sensors before and unfortunately had to replace them with the OE brand sensor because they were cheap crap that doesn’t fit correctly. Had to recently on a 13-18 5th gen. Altima. Got a crank position sensor from advance, o-ring was crap and the harness connector barely clipped on. It “fixed” the problem, but still had occasional rough starts and would feel weird once in a while. I replaced it with a Denso sensor from Rockauto, Denso was the OEM brand of that sensor on these Altimas, and it worked perfect. Harness clicks in like a glove like the original did, and no problems since. Parts are worse than ever and getting a defective part is actually pretty common these days unfortunately, so don’t think cause its a “new” part that its good to go. If you’re having issues I would definitely double check the sensor(s).

where should I get the parts? my code P0345 (bank 2) should I replace just that or both ??? Thank you
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 11 месяцев назад
I would say grab them from a local parts store. That way if there is any issues, you can easily go swap it out and you don’t have to fight with an online vendor with time, shipping, etc. And I touched based on doing one or both in the video @ 2:40.

I replaced all 3 now it cranks for 30 seconds before it starts up 2months ...but now it just cranks no start up 😢 I got another new crankshaft sensor today about to put it in see if it will work properly now.
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 9 месяцев назад
Like I mentioned in the video….they have to be in there perfectly, they are particular on exact placement…which in turn brings up another potential issue which i also mentioned in the video, which is the o-ring. Sometimes the aftermarket o-rings aren’t great and you need to reuse the OEM o-ring for proper fitment. Also, I recently did a crankshaft sensor on an altima, installed one from advance…and the harness wasn’t completely locking in and causing it to intermittently throw the code. Put an OE Denso sensor back in it, harness clicked in like a glove and no issues since. Just some things to keep in mind and check.

How much would this job cost?
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee Год назад
Thats a very subjective question to be honest. I’m sure there are shops that charge $1000 for this job out there….and some that would charge a reasonable amount, more in the $200ish range. I think I charged this customer $200-$225.

Is it just the light on, or is it still experiencing symptoms as well? Because you need to clear the codes/light manually with an OBD reader once job is completed

Mine on the passenger side was covered in oil. I don't have an oil leak. How big of a red flag is this?
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 6 месяцев назад
The oil seal was probably bad. New ones come with a new o-ring. Replacement should solve the leak.

I Leave the sensor in place. Do not unbolt it. It will have a sturdy leverage to pull to connector. This way it will only need one hand to dislodged. Try it.
