Every record label did that. He gave his artist more money than other labels, that was why they signed with him and not other labels. The way it is now, is not how it always was. Labels owned everything before the mid 2000's. Artist signed and then later acted like they were robbed. The read the contracts and signed for money. They always thought short term. It's not anyone else's fault.

That's because the lawyers didn't stop them from signing off on that. The music business is shady. Puff didn't snake them they signed off on it and didn't realize what they signed until later on in their careers. It don’t affect Sheek as much as Jada and P…Sheek never signed to Bad Boy as a solo artist so Puff never owned his publishing as a Solo artist, just Jadakiss, Styles P and The Lox
