My thoughts on the 2005 Subaru Legacy GT with the 2.5L Turbo charged flat four cylinder engine, and 5 speed automatic transmission.
Subarus are always fun. Their engines are quirky and strange, yet fun and adequate. Now throw that in a practical body, and you got yourself quite the fun daily. Why did people love the station wagons of the 70’s and 80’s? People bought station wagons because families were booming and they needed the space. Space. That’s what makes the Subaru Legacy so good. Yes it has a great drive train, with a great engine/turbo setup, trans, and all wheel drive, but put that in a car with tons of space to for move-in-day or whatever it may be.
My dislikes with the Legacy start and end with the rear leg room. Any Subaru before 2008 has a leg room issue, and I can’t figure out why. The Legacy’s wheelbase would allow for 4 more inches of leg room at least, but we are not given it. This makes the back seats not only uncomfortable, but hard to get in and out of.
Over all I loved the Subaru Legacy GT. Its practical, quicker than most, and a fun car to get you from point A to point B. Especially in the snow.
