Thanks Rich , the Marauder ( 2003 ) has a soft peddle . I wish you weren’t 1600 miles away or I would bring it to you ! Will try bleeding it myself with new motorcraft fluid !
I absolutely love that it shows what modules are on what networks visually! A bit of a hydraulic leak there @9:18; probably a simple fix. Bet you can find the source of that pretty quick. 😜 This looks like an excellent bi-directional scanner, very nice. 🐺🔧
My next scanner will absolutely have the topology report like this topdon has, pisses me off that I paid 4 grand for a Matco scanner and it doesn’t offer topology. That’s such a nice feature to have, quickly shows you it certain modules aren’t communicating and wether it’s an entire network or not. The Matco scanner as far as the layout looks identical to this topdon, just no topology
I figured that someone was manufacturing Ford's ignition coils. I didn't know that it was Standard. I think Standard may be the supplier of Napa's ignition coils. I noticed that both Standard and Napa coil boxes say "Made in Poland". The Topdon Phoenix series of scan tools are quite impressive. Jimmy Making It work has been using the Topdon as his main scanner and seems to be quite satisfied with its performance. I believe that updates are quite reasonable when compared to Snap On.
I've been looking at that topdon scanner lately. I'm not quite ready to spend that much money all at once though, and then there is the mystery of whether or not it will do everything I would expect it to.
Ha ha funny, It is how much technician is in me man. I heard that miss clear as day right from start up. Wierd, i mean today i got the diag from another tech for a truck i did test drive on. I heard the diff playing up immediately. The other guys that drive it were like: "what diff sound? I did not hear it! Tech agreed diff is toast. Once a tech it just never goes away. It is just automatic. 😂😂 Nice tech stripe you got there. 😉 Hope it heals up quick.Topdonnice bit of kit too.
I was able to get 464,000 miles out of my ignition coils on my '07 Town Car. Still had the factory coils and I had the car from 52,000 miles from the original owner. I wonder if I was able to get that kind of mileage out of them because I didn't have any extensive idle time on them. Good to know about the Blue Streak ignition coils.
Great review ! We recently purchased a brand new Toyota Highlander and I knew I would need a scan tool. I considered getting either the topdon Phoenix or the launch pro s 3... I ended up with the xtool D9 for the updates..... It reads my 02 Ford Escape with 245k on it. I attribute its health to 5k oti and overall good maintenance. Still runs Awesome ! Wondering what your opinion is on that model of scan tool ? Maybe they will send you one to demo ? I'm debating getting the launch. I hear that Topdon is built by former launch people. Love your channel. Have made the switch to Valvoline ! Thank you for your work.
I had a bad coil in my Honda a few years ago. Car would do weird stuff. Car would run and drive fine until I around 50mph. At idle it ran fine, but if I pushed on the gas it would start running rough.
From my own experience, it seems the Auto Vin scan seems to work best with vehicles 2006/2007 + and newer. Some older model vehicles don’t seem to communicate the vin to the scanner
That Topdon is nice and feature rich compared to my XTool D8BT. I do really enjoy my XTool device, however it would be amazing to work with the Topdon. It seems it uses the Launch software (Launch, Kingbolen, Thinkdiag, Topdon,Mucar)
So far all the pros seem to like the topdon scantools and i can see why. I have around 7k imvested in my snapon triton that doesnt have that topology screen for the modules and i wish it did. Snapon needs to wise up and do something similar because it helps to diag modules and parasitic draws in a big way.
I notice my alternator is making some noise when I change my serpentine belt on thr 4.6 f150. Since you had so many problems with alternators recently, Which brand/store would you recommend I tried first? It was a pretty study grinding noise as I rotated the pully and I want to be prepared when it goes
No need to check plug 🙄, you don't use that Dyslectic grease 🤔. I probably spelled it wrong 😔. Just questions. Like the new scan tool🤗👍. HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK RICH. 👍🙏✝️♥️. 🇺🇲 FROM THE OLD FART IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 😎♥️✝️
That is fascinating! Any techs on this channel that are around Pittsburgh PA that have this, please let me know. Would love a diagnosis of my Ranger just to check it out.
C'mon rich you know that cold start ups are the worst for setting a misfire fault due to running rich , and gas fouling of the spark plugs, I bet you have a bad spark plug or bad injector, possible injector is dirty and or sticking open due to being dirty ????? You l Know this ,now give me 50 push ups and two hail Marys Lolol
