Here I show you briefly how to install the cylinder head and time each of the camshafts. Disclaimer: This video is intended for educational purposes only. Always follow proper manufacturer instructions and safety procedures.
Thanks you so much. I have the same job. My timing belt brake and I change 2 intake valves from the cylinder 2 and lap all 16 valves and new seal. I was not sure about my service manual and not so much for my kia rio 2009. But its the same motor. Your video help me a lot because I was scare to put my cam. I'm doin it outside at Montreal. Its cold!
Found this video just in time. Putting my crankshafts back in today and was finding that most info out there was too vague to feel confident. This nailed it.
Hey one last thing when, after i put everything in time and matched up the marks and black links on the chain. I spun the crankshaft twice and the black chain wasnt back where it shuld be but the crank and cam were perfect when i spun it two more times total of 4 spins to the crank, the black links were back lined perfect with the cam and crank TDC. Is that normal or did i do it wrong ?
That's why the engine is called a 4 stroke engine. TDC - rotate crankshaft ( 4 ) complete revolutions, all the timing marks should line up if set properly.
No not 90lbs. 90 degrees. Position your ratchet and picture a clock. From the 12 oclock position to the 3 oclock position is 90 degrees. Your pretty much truning the bolt another 1/4 turn after torquing the 22 foot lbs.
