100 car repair karma points for making this video I had to go at my axle nuts with an angle grinder to get it loose you can do it whout taking the brakes off, just be careful to not pull on the lines also, I just disconnect at the strut and tie rod and leave the ball joint, it pulls back and you can get the axle out no prob
My mechanic took the shocks off to get the axles out of my family's 08 Sedona, he didn't separate the ball joints or calipers, however. Both CV axles came out relatively easy. The Rockauto axles (Trakmotive) has vibrations at 30mph. Really disappointed. I'm saving the old axles for a rebuild eventually.
really old video now. but if you remember.... were the replacement cv axle was it factory or was it from amazon? i might have to change mine and don't want to do it twice. best.
😂😂😂 We didnt see you in action fighting with that axle trying to remove it 🤪🤪🤪 We need the full session 🤨🤣🤣🤣 a chain and hook 🧐🧐🧐 God help you with this nightmare
My 2011 Sedona had both drive shafts replaced in a garage. New shafts were aftermarket as Kia dealer wanted 1000Cad a piece +tax . I found that aftermarket parts were vibrating during rapid acceleration. Changed them a couple times new ones were still vibrating. Mechanic told me he was not able to find the cause. The only thing that was changed were both drive shafts. Is it your experience as well? Did you notice if aftermarket drive shafts caused vibration during acceleration compared to original parts? Thank you.
Changing an axle does not require the front end to be aligned unless for some reason you were forced to make changes to the length of the outer tie rod.
@@themarginalmechanic5928 on the 06 sedona, there is a c clip on the intermediate shaft that the outside axle slides over, I cant get the axle to go back over it
what tool did you use to pry the driver side? I got everything separated but my inner cv boot is torn so it separated at the joint with the base still in the transmission and I didn't have any luck getting a pry bar in there to pry it out.
