2008 GSXR ISC Idle Issue *FIXED* 

currrently having the exact same issue lmk how you end up fixing it, I was going to recalibrate the throttle postion on PCV

@@SchweboTV i tried to clean the valve ( apparently it was clean and move up and down correctly when turning off the engine) but the Fi still turns on randomly so I think I'll try to get a used valve and see what happens

First I put it in dealer mode to find the code, then I bought the OBD tool. The OBD tool can also show the fault codes and provides more info behind them

so how do you fix the vaccum line issue??

So do you take the line off and clean it or block it off?

@@Mr_2500hd_ms3_dillon you should be replacing the lines and the connectors. I opted to reuse my connectors and throughly clean them and bought new vacuum line and cut it the same length as the oem lines I removed.

@@-soundmcgee-2002 the lines that are on the injector side. if you found the iap sensor follow the line that connects to that which in turn is connected to the throttle bodies

Yes, you don't need a check engine light on in order to reset it

I did notice some smoke on the initial startup after I got it running again but it went away quickly

Andrew! Sure it's the obd S01 the S stands for suzuki

All vehicles do this.. cars bikes you answered it yourself it's because of cold starting ...Engines idle at a higher RPM when cold to help move fuel through the engine more quickly. In colder temperatures, fuel can thicken and become less likely to vaporize, so the engine overcompensates by increasing the RPM. As the engine warms up, the RPM will drop and return to normal when the engine reaches operating temperature.

I have actually sold the bike since making this video so I can't provide any feedback on a cold weather startup. You said you reset the ISC values and also replaced the ISC valve a while back? I would try doing the reset again and possibly replacing the ISC valve if the reset doesn't work.

@@jimmymc10021 I did actually! Your bike will need a throttle adjustment. I went to a local shop where I stay and bike works like new again. I missed her purr. But yeah man if you have a local shop that someone works on bikes and they have that throttle body sync tool, that should fix it.

Yeah I wasn't a fan of the electronically controlled idle on these models. They do look good though. And yeah once someone starts ripping into the wiring harness its game over

RK Motorsports sure is, I only had it for less than a year, but luckily my friend took it back to trade it in so I can get a 2k14 gsxr 600 which I absolutely love but I miss my ‘08 because it had the white wheels which I loved but pain in the butt to keep clean

@@Just_andy588 yeah I love white wheels on any bike but you're right, they are a pain to keep clean!

I dont think it will reset if you unplug the battery. From what I read, every time the bike is turned off, it creates a log of values that it reverts to next time you turn it on. I believe using the obd tool is the only way to reset these values

RK Motorsports Please help me, I have a problem on Suzuki gsxr 1000 2010, it's good to start on a cold one, and when after driving, the warmed-up motorcycle stood for 15 minutes-I start it not to start only with gas to start??

RK Motorsports It turns out if you start immediately on the hot then start the bike, but when it stands for 15-20 minutes, do not start-only with gas

Curious if you fixed your issue. I also have an 09 750 that has been having this exact intermittent idling issues for the last few years. Taken it in to the dealership several times and several other techs, no one has been able to fix this. Did this do it for you ?

​@@1_Flipside_1 Hey , Unfortunately no. I sold it as it was sadly :( Its a real shame. My stator went and I think my bike had a surge through it - and from then on it never ran properly again. From memory, my partner and I were thinking it may have f-ked with the ECU. But after trying many avenues - Pulling it apart and testing the idle sensor (it was fine).. We gave up. Pretty sad.

​@@1_Flipside_1I have a 09 750 also doesn't wanna idle on it's own when I cold start it but idles ok when it's warmed up..took it to a dealership for a inspection they said it needs a "Valve adjustment" according to them that's why I'm having issues with cold start/idling cold... haven't gotten the adjustment done yet so lmaoo we will see when I get it done if it solves my issue

Since I made this video the FI light has returned and continues to flash while the bike is running but still starts right up from a cold start and idles properly.

I see. Thank you for your reply. Mine does the same. Guess I’ll have to try to purchase the ISC valve to see if I’m able to fix it.

I had to pulled the tank and airbox off the bike yesterday and realized I had unplugged the ISC valve for some reason shortly after I got it running. Plugged it back in and the FI code has gone away again

Samething with mine..it'll idle fine no f1 light go for a 5 min ride and it comes on..then when slowing to a light the bike dies out on me...what was the verdict for u? Did u fix it?

@@Daniel-qx9nq I did fix it man. My clutch sensor plug that plugs in under the left grip was bypassed and not plugged in. People do this so you can start the bike without pullin in the clutch. Apparently this messes with the computer in the bike and it doesn’t know when the clutch is pulled in so it messes with the air fuel ratio. Long story short, check if you have your clutch switch bypassed. If you do then that’s most likely your problem.

Yeh man,I actually had my suspension dialed in yesterday..he did the full works including adjusting my brake and clutch levers..never had a f1 light until he was done and I went for the test ride..no doubt in my mind it's the clutch switch..he adjusted it to much and was moving shit around kind of rough..I have asv shorty levers,never had a problem with them until he messed with my bike yesterday, matter fact I have those levers on both my rc8r and my gsxr never a problem. I appreciate you responding and helping me narrow down the culprit 🤙

I noticed when I got home..my bike started without the clutch being pulled in..I knew right then what was going on

@@Daniel-qx9nq yup. Possibly he tugged it a little too much While swapping stuff around. I got a left hand assembly off eBay and just cut the clutch switch and put it on the new one. When I was having the problem though it threw an f1 code for the isc (idle speed control) valve. I think you found your problem, seems to be the same thing I had

@@MrHustleSwag yeah I fixed it partially, I changed the fuel filter and fuel pump and it helped out a lot. But I now need to change the secondary throttle position sensor
