My Alt went down today in my 07 CRV and did not want to pay 500.00 to have a mechanic to replace it. So I went to youtube to see if I could do it. I watched every video on how to replace it. Hands down yours was the BEST. The only thing I wish I had was the bent wrench you made for the tensioner for the belt. That was the biggest pain in the replacement. Thank you for the video.
Quick Tip: Take a long screwdriver w/hard handle and touch the part with it. I use a prybar. Touch the handle of the screwdriver to your ear and listen. This method helped me isolate the noise. Hope this info helps! 😁
Duralast belts are not to OEM specs. I found this out after replacing my belt with Duralast, still had squealing issues. Went to the dealer and bent over for a moment and picked up a belt, compared the 2 belts and the Duralast is slightly larger. I found this out on a tip from someone. No more issues with the new OEM.
Do you mean wider or longer? The person I did this for is my neighbor and they have not had an issue... yet... and hopefully they never do. Good to know information.
@@RoCDIY It was about an inch longer, didn't think it would make that much of a difference thinking the tensioner would pick up the slack, but it did on mine, so I had to go with OEM and that did the trick. I have a 2008 as well.
