I've had a 400 Burgman for the last couple of years. It's the most practical two wheeler out there. Enough performance for the motorway/freeway, plenty of storage, economical and still fun to ride. And everything's accessible and easy to work on when service time comes around. Great video & agree absolutely with all your comments.
Very awesome man , and thank you : very informed and detailed: I’ve been throwing around the idea of trading my Versys for a 400 burgman snd I think you’ve sold me ! Keep on making the videos .
Jack- the Suzuki Burgman 400 has been such a pleasure and a reliable Bike. If you can get a hold of a low mile one from an older owner.. you wont be disappointed - thanks for watching, what else would you like to see? i have 2 other videos- one oil change and one jump box.. nothing to repair.. just cruise -
Nice review! Thanks I just bought a 2006 400 and after owning every 600 supersport, harleys and liter bikes I cant beleive how much I like the burgman.
people always tease me because the Burgman is classified as a scooter and no respect unless you ride a 600cc or up sport bike. I had many 600s and 750cc bikes but I never rode them nearly as much as I do the Burgman. Other than acceleration those bikes bored me. Burgman makes so much more sense at least to me - Joey
I just bought the 2024 Burgman 400. My battery died because I had the parking light switched on instead of locked. Needed to replace the battery. Appreciate the info on the Micro Start battery jump starter. Going to get one and store it under the seat. Great video.👍👍.😊
Great review! Today i made a test-ride on a 2009 model and must conclude that this is a great motorcycle/scooter. Laidback riding style and comfortable with enough power. Bought the bike. Thanks for the information and have a save ride! Greetings from the Netherlands.
If it ever breaks I definitely will. The only thing I ever did was replace the back wheel because it was balding and customized the windshield and customized the driver back rest .. and I replaced a brake light switch in the lever.. but the bike is so good and reliable... thank you for watching my brother...
absolutely!!! Burgman is just a Classy well made all around Maxxi Scooter.. check out the review i made on the Honda Grom i got comparing it to the Burgman - Thanks bro .. Joey
Nice. I really wanted a description of the round slot next to the key. My seat lock is broken and I’m wondering if that slot is related to emergency unlock.
You wont regret it man! been having a back up scooter my entire life and this Burgman 400.. its been a total pleasure to own. When you pick one up, please hit me back. Take it easy - Joey
Not an E brake but a parking brake for when you park on an incline with just the side stand. Kept the scooter from rolling since there is no gear to put it in when parked.
Videos nice and I like the micro start sport battery charger that's a cool item I just wish people would leave music off it's nicer just listening to the person and listening to the bike itself that's my preference also I'm pretty sure you have a paddle shift on on there if you want to manually shift it
Hi Dan. . yeah sorry about the music mate.. ill take your advice moving forward.. The Burgman 400 is strictly twist and go automatic.. no shifting options .. thanks again - Joey
Just got a 400 myself and I love it so far! Mine is black also so I’m looking to add some color to it for visibility. Where did you find the ones you have on the back end handles?
I custom made those with vinyl rolls i ordered from ebay.. My bike was pure black originally but i wanted to break up the boring black so i added all the decals - Joey
no unfortunately. there is no clutch and no gears on the Burgman, none of the Scooters cab be push started thats why i recommended the portable jump box just in case you get a dead battery.. i have another video showing me using it when my battery died
absolutely! I can use my Burgman year round.. Speed is 95 if i need it but rarely use more than 75mph.. Great storage and comfortable.... Great simple transportation..
Really like the battery charger !! I have one also ? but it's twice as big ( and Bulky) Amazon here i come , also love those Burgman ,i'm looking for a used on ?hard to find any more , Great video !!! keep them coming !!!
Thank you Ken.. I just bought a little Honda Grom mini bike as a present for exercising 90 days and dropping 30 pounds.. ill be doing videos on this bike too. stay tuned - Joey
@@kenw8783 Ken i just bought one and ill do a review just for you with all the information you will need, Stand by buddy - Subscribe and ill make a video just for you tonight!!!
What is your average mpg on that? I'm looking in between the 400 and the 650 model. Just has an alternative to cruise back and forth to work. It's roughly 25 miles there.
i cut down the factory windshield 6 inches! much much better air flow for city riding. i have a GIVI full windshield i use for the cold winter months.. very easy to install..
Pretty good overall, though please either turn down or turn the music off when riding as the riding we can't tune in to what the Scoot is actually doing, engine, revs etc tnx
I love the storage i love the bike. I had a 2018 and traded for an ATV the next day I was sorry so I bought a 2006 on marketplace that bike will cruise 65-70 all day .
I bought mine from an old retired guy for $1800 6 years ago with 6K on the Odometer.. Other then a weak battery.. My Burgman has been an Awesome part of my family - Joey
hey man..appreciate your content ! Since you are expert in the matter, can you advice me about a Yoshimura exhaust , compatible for my Burgman 400 , 1999 ? Thanks in advance
I just picked up the 2022 Burgman 200, it rides like a Cadillac compared to other scooters and motorcycles I’ve ridden. Great suspension, excellent cruiser. The CVT is the smoothest I have experienced, it feels like you’re driving a regular automobile. The new Burgman 200 is a powerful vehicle, you can absolutely ride two up after the break-in period. I can’t believe I was actually thinking about getting the ADV 150. The 2022 Burgman 200 is expensive but only $700 more than the weak ADV 150 which is grossly exaggerated and overpriced.
@@VegasDtech Thanks, I’ve been eyeballing Burgmans for quite a while. After ridiculous taxes and associated fees, I paid 7k out the door. The 200 can definitely ride two up, the Burgman 200 is one of a few scooters in that class that have a true 200cc displacement. My other scooter is a SYM Fiddle iii 200i which has a 169cc displacement, I can ride two up on it. I’m blown away by the power of the Burgman.
Had over 35 different motorcycles, I like my 08 burgman 400 the best! I had a 650 also but like the 400 better. The 650 is to big to wrestle around. The 400 will do freeway legal speeds but is over 6000 on the tach when doing it. You are right, most practical bike ever, Swiss Army knife of motorcycles….
I ride a Honda Forza300...nice scoot overall, but I would like a little bit more suspension travel. I'm 250lbs, and I have to really pick my line carefully so as to avoid any irregularities in the road or my back pays the price after an hour on the scoot. Do you find the Burgman 400 has decent enough suspension to soak up the roads? Also, I hear that the pre-2010 400's have a few issues along with the lack of ABS...thoughts?
@@1966johnnywayne I weigh about 170lbs. I keep my shock on the softest setting and seems good to me. I talked to a guy your weight and he loves his Burgy, no complaints about the suspension…. Just bought a Kawasaki Versys 300X, love it but definitely not a replacement for the 400 Burgy. Got to love the old guy features like storage, nimbleness, and no shifting. The Versys is the 3rd second bike to the Burgy (650 Burgman, Honda CTX 1300, 300 Versys). The Burgy always wins….
was the music really that loud?? Apologies brother.. if i could change it i would.. but i hope you enjoyed the video.. It got very good feedback.. take care man - Joey
Lol.. Yes.. When i rode a "Real Bike" crotch rocket blah blah.. I would get the nod of approval or wave... But on this Burgman.. Nope I am below worthy.. no nod and no wave.. I am no longer cool
@@VegasDtech I really hate the looks I get lol. I don't ride My GSXR 750 any more. It's gotten bad where it hurts my back. And with the Burgman I can take that hour drive with no problem.
@@BBK81788 Yeah ikd.... yes its not as cool as a sports bike... But im older now and i ride it because its way more practical and i truthfully use it way more than any sport bike ive owned.. I dont miss the shoulder blade aches, numb hands.. fear to drop the bike in a u-turn.. on and on and on.. ride whatever, ride for yourself.. I love my Burgman, Zero regrets and no interest to sell her anytime soon - Stay cool brother
yea i liked the video. I'm looking to get something like this to do food deliveries on. I already do it on a 150 but it's just too slow for the highway. I was gonna get another cheap car to use but the maintenance on a car for that much driving is just too much money. A scooter seems sooo much cheaper to repair and just tires and maintenance is way cheaper for something that I would put a lot of miles on.
