Zack, In this time frame the Sequoia was also available with a 1UR-FE 4.6 V8. In terms of truly unique features, the Sequoia has a 4WD system not seen on any other product I know. It has a Torsen center differential like a 4Runner Limited, Lexus GX, LX or Land Cruiser but it also has the option to run in RWD which the others don't.
That engine is rare in Toyota trucks and SUVs except the Lexus GX460 where it was the only engine offered. Even the 4.7 was pretty rare in 2nd generation models.
7:41 Sadly the current Sienna is very underpowered. It really needs the T24A-FTS to be somewhat stout instead of the anemic hybrid which is overwhelmed by a damn incline. It's so so dumb its hybrid-only.
These weren't huge sellers but Toyota seems to know what their buyers wanted by keeping most of their body-on-frame SUVs in production nearly unchanged for so long. I always wondered if these would have been more popular if they weren't so round.
You do a great job with your channel. You are in a very different league, but Jay Leno is the only car guy I like as much as you. The Model A video is my favorite. The fact you drive a model A as a normal car has increased my respect. Especially as young as you are. Your videos are a great length. Satisfying but brief. The fact you can appreciate rusted out beaters and give both an informative and emotional evaluation of the cars with a sense of the cars purpose and historical Era is great. Keep rocking it, kid
Wow, RAV4 is a subcompact, like a girl drives to university! I know Americans are bigger, but not that much... a big burly tradesman or a large family need the choice for a large car or truck. You can't discriminate against genetic height or shoulder width... I've been in cars where the door bounced off my shoulder or the seat didn't go back enough to safely/comfortably use the pedals. The Sequoia is very average sized. Ironically, one of most space efficient cars I've driven was a mini Cooper... but just me alone. Two guys, and your shoulders are gonna touch, especially in heavy coats dictated by our winters. But for a family? No way. Even small children won't have room for legs, car seats, supplies with the seat slid back where I need it. With electric cars solving the mpg issues, and USA making large sporty EV vehicle like Charger, Telsa and Lightning, why are they forcing average sized Brits to cram into cars only comfortable for hobbits?
@@Jack_Staffordthe RAV4 isn't a subcompact crossover, it's a compact. They make the CH-R, Corolla Cross and Yaris Cross which are all smaller than the RAV4.
So funny that you put this up today. Im in the market for a sequoia and watch your reviews regularly. I think with the way the market is, this is one of those vehicles that still offers some great value for the money. Looking at a first gen though.
SUV are More style than Minivan and Station Wagons. SUV is best Choice with off-road of towing 4wd is way to go. I love a truck with big engine of more room for passengers of cargo all In one
Yea but SUVs like these are way more than what people need. Most people should buy vans or station wagons as they are cheaper and better off on gas. Plus most people do not need the towing capabilities or 4wd and a van or wagon suits their needs just fine. Also wagons and vans have some decent awd systems that do fine in any weather.
