Factory battery terminals are so thin, they will rot away and cause a bad connection which can lead to a dead battery, charging system not working properly and many other unexplained electrical problems..Follow along as I replace this item and save that fuse block.

I've looked at so many videos and none showed me exactly what I needed! Thank you! Now to get the nut that's stuck, off! I have no tools to cut it. I sprayed it with WD-40 so hopefully it'll come loose.

Sometimes you need to mangle it off but you need to save that connector terminal that is attached to the cable...maybe vise grips can hold the battery terminal so you can spin it off...good luck...

I am fixing mine tomorrow morning..I have been putting it off and bought the new battery terminal this morning..going to cut the one on my 2012 Altima S off and fix it right up...this is a good video that shows how to fix a rotten OEM piece of junk

Anyone able to get the bolt from terminal to fusable link off without cutting or order entire new link box?

@@shimpashields983 you can buy a new fuse box, its around $40.00 i believe, then its only the other nut you have to remove

I took my time with an angle grinder... and cut a slot in the nut and came off no problem. Other than some sparks.. no big deal

@@louiev4762 i understand if you don't have the right tools, buying a new fuse block would be the right choice to most people..it would cost the same if you took the terminal and block to a place to have it cut off with these prices they ask for in labor nowadays

May be a dumb question but the negative terminal on my 2016 had a screw through it. Now could that cause the same as the positive cable?

Depends on which way the screw was installed, but as long as you cannot grab it and twist it loose, then you are ok.

I got a 2010 Nissan altima with the same terminal and fuse thing when I crank it it clicks rapidly then the lights dim would could that mean I tried the battery and tested it so it's fine I do have a lose terminal as well the same one is that the issue or is it my alternator?

Starting is the terminal since you said the battery is good, so change that out and check your charging system..either with a multimeter or autozone can check it for free for you...

How did you cut the positive terminal off so cleanly? I have the same problem as you with the whole box moving but I can’t get the fused bolt off for the life of me…. I have cut into the screw with a saw, whiz wheel still nothing.

I cut and split the nut in half..then a screwdriver and split it open..or a small chisel

@@alyoungcuda thanks for replying but how did you get the wheel down into such a small space without cutting the box? I have cut down one side of the washer but the whole washer and nut is like fused together with the metal that goes to the plastic piece

@@abeltheballer161 if you look close the black box has a nick in it..you need to cut the nut off on that 1 side if you can and then split it..a 2x4 wood over the battery will give you a better surface to place the terminal on..

If I could add anything here it would be to add a bit of grease to the area to help stop the corrosion

You will be fine..but don't forget to disconnect the negative terminal 1st and install it last

@@alyoungcuda Just want to say that I have finally fixed the car because I did not have the strength to remove the rusted bolt that held the battery fuse link/block component. I ended up using pb blaster and drenched the bolt and I finally got it break off.

I replaced the terminal, the battery fuse and the battery and nothing... the break lights and everything are on... the fan in the engine are working just won't start up

Try starting in neutral or your starter went bad.

@@alyoungcuda the only way I can start it in neutral is if I try to start it then switch it to neutral turn it off then start it again

@@christopher87105 that means the shift cable is out of adjustment or the rubber grommets at the end of the cable are worn out and giving you that free play movement..and of course could be the neutral safety switch..but if you wiggle the shift cable than its the cable problem
