Very nice example. New subscriber. I didn't even know about the Firehawk until maybe a month ago. I recently flew down and picked up an '09 G8 GT Memorial Day weekend and drove it back from Arlington, Texas. Mine, or my wife's rather, is the Maverick Silver Metallic. It only had 47,000 original miles on it. I just this week installed a tune and removed the AFM/DOD. I've researched and read about oil consumption and damaged and failing lifters. I bought it for its 6.0L V8. If I wanted a four cylinder, then I would buy one. LOL. I just installed a VCM OTR intake this evening. These cars were so unappreciated when they were new, but those that recognize them know what it's all about. We handed down our '08 G6 GT to my 16 year old daughter. Sense a trend here? The gentlemen I purchased the G8 from was in his late 70's and owned all four generations of Transam at one time. This was his last Pontiac.
Damn that was awesome to read! I always wanted this car since it came out. I had an 01 bonneville as my 2nd car and now g8 is next it’s time.. I love Pontiac and miss them
I was car shopping 10yrs ago and I let a dealer talk me out of buying G8 GT. He was tellin me all the "problems" they have. And how hard it is to get parts and all this other bs....pretty sure he wanted it either for himself or a family member. Ended up getting a Grand Prix which I still have and has treated me extremely well over the years. STILL luv the G8's tho! Awesome car, bro. Wanna sell it?
Nice Firehawk! I have an IOM 08 GT that is cammed, Magnuson supercharged, etc. Luckily, my headliner is still perfect. I've heard that the headliner detaches on the car's with sunroofs much sooner than the ones that don't.
First and foremost, enjoy the car man. Take care of it and don't molest it too much and it may see a good increase in value in time. KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL PARTS!!!! lol
IMO the 92 is the best Firehawk. I have an 01 and I absolutely love it. The G8 Firehawks are, to me, a totally different beast. Fantastic nonetheless, super rare, huge power, so glad Pontiac put this out before they left. They would not go quietly into the night! Cherish that my friend, those are gonna be $$$ soon!
Another 2 to 3 years these are gonna be outrageously priced! Restore this to as perfect as you can cause you will get some big bucks! Just wait a see... Good Luck brother💯✌
Man.. That Firehawk look amazing. Love those G8, GxP,'S and G XP coups And Fire🔥hawk's🦅 am going to buy a lot of Pontiac's cars. When I safe up some money.
Pretty cool story behind this one. have you ever had the engine looked at? just curious. i have a 16 and well. yeah.. knowing what i know now, i can only assume i know why they were phased out a second time.
The engine runs fine, I don't see a reason to look at it. I might remove the DOD in the future. I don't understand what you mean by being phased out the second time, GM killed Pontiac in 2009.
These are extremely bad ass cars. I’ve always loved the firehawk name… it’s a shame Pontiac is now defunct, that had so many great cars in the 2000s from tuners to muscle.
In my humble opinion...... The Firehawk badge should've never been used on the G8. Firehawk, Firebird. I'm a proud owner of a 1996 Camaro Z28 SS #2304...... Another SLP Performance Vehicle.
it kinda sux that u guys didn't get the best of these cars, its like they made them out of drips n drabs from what i can see its a supercharged ss ve commodore with calais belt moulds n door handles with of course the Pontiac front bar, they should have at least gave u guys a w427 rebadged
