@@anthonyg9389 Hi Anthony, I appreciate your reply. That is very interesting. I went back to double check in my manual as well and it does call for 8.8 quarts in the 6.0 liter L76 engine. The Amsoil web site also shows 8.8 quarts. My G8 has the DoD active fuel management system that is control by oil flow. I read a few years ago that some of the Holden vehicles only required 8.0 quarts and their DoD was disabled. Is your DoD operational? I actually have my G8 in the garage right now having the DoD removed as I was getting a little noise in the lifters. You can reset it by turning the key to the on position and press the accelerator pedal 3 times quickly after. Or in the engineering mode go to the option that says engine oil life and pressing the enter scroll wheel on the steering wheel.

I forgot what size it was because the socket had actually gotten stuck on the drain plug from the last oil change(completely my fault). I'll check it tomorrow though

and no, I chose to go with AC DELCO because it was on sale. hah. I've used fram and the K&N before

Wonder why his lifters got noisy lol I know the lifters aren't a strong suite in these cars with the dod but bought mine with 180k on the clock and just tuned dod out and have no lifter noise lol

@@austingross72 does tuning DOD out change the total amount of oil required?

@hunterstacy4459 no it does not the tuning just turns off the electrical switch from v8 to 4cyl mode that being said doesn't stop from having mechanical failure just had lifter collapse a cam lobe and destroyed cam bearings at 215k lol
