As dry as it has been I am not going to hold my breath for more snow. This was a wicked storm. Wet heavy snow too.

That plow does a really good job you should get some wings for it. and those guide sticks are so bight you can plow with out the headlights I love my set I have

I have a set of wings. It makes the plow too heavy for this truck. I have some 3500 torsion bars but haven't gotten them installed.

@@TheNathan343 New plow prices were crazy last time I looked. My dad is still running my old plow. I could have saved a ton of money if I just kept running it.

8'6 SnowEx V with wings and down force is the upgrade plan. The challenge is I'll be putting it on a 1st gen Cummins with a Dana 60 front axle. So far I only plan to beef up the front leaf springs but wondering if upgrading the axle might be necessary in the long run.

These plows are heavy. Probably close to 1000lbs with the wings. You don't think a Dana 60 will handle that? I would go with new wheel bearings and see how it goes.

@@mossman381 I think I may need to replace the kingpin on one side since I'm getting some feathering on the outside corner of my tire. Just wondering if the other components (like bearings) would take enough of a beating that it would be worth upgrading.

Back then they made trucks to be trucks. I remember back when I put a plow on an 88 Chevy truck. I was shocked to see it handle the plow like a newer 2500.

How do you feel about the wide-out plow? Would you ever try that plow?

I like my V plow. Actually, the other day I thought about how nice a simple straight blade would be. Just angle and go. I run dads' truck with my old Western Pro every now and then and the simplicity of it is kind of nice and it still gets the job done.
