Yep! It doesn't always have to be a razzle dazzle high scoring affair at all. Sometimes physical, stone wall defensive showdowns can be just as entertaining, like this contest.
I remember being crazy hyped for this game. This was the first full season I fully watched of the NFL and these were two of the best teams of the previous season. Seeing all these different players I didn't recognize along with players I knew from the year before was surreal lol
this was the one and only steelers game ive ever been able to attend i was a child maybe 11-12 years old now im 26 this was one of the best days of my life and one i will remember forever! thank you for recording this it brought back such good memories :)
Troy was lit from the year before when Chris Johnson ran the last ten yards of a TD high stepping and waving the ball in his face. So he went off on them before the freak knee injury. As Chris Collinsworth said during this broadcast...is it possible to make the pro bowl in just one quarter lol.
Troy was never the same after this game. The Polamalu u see in the first half would really be the last time u saw him play at this level. After the injury he couldnt shake the injury bug.
@Jordan He did, but the injury bug was already there. After week 1 and week 2 of 2010, he was quiet up until the Bengals and Ravens games later that year. The end Bengals game would definitely be the last of the hair when he tore his Achilles
That three game stretch where the lost to KC, Oakland, then Cleveland....all who had losing records cost them. If they had just won one of those, they would have been the 6 seed. They also blew a Two TD lead at Cincinnati after Limas Sweed dropped a TD that would have put the Steelers up 27-9 in the fourth qtr. They should have easily been 11-5
This was the beginning of the end for the Steelers... Even though they made it back to the SB the next year, Troy was never the same after this game, and that had an effect on the D.
Little did they know at the time, but this was the beginning of the curse. By the end of this season, the Titans and their fans will be begging the Steelers and their fans to lift the curse.
What is up with the Titans kicking games? Everytime they get in a big defensive struggle the field goal unit misses kicks, gives up blocks, crazy. Special teams do not get enough attention
How do you build a game plan around not sending extra defenders on the blitz at Ben, while at the same time not using the extra coverage defenders to double Holmes?
