This video is part 2 which shows how to replace the timing chain, water pump and oil pan gasket and also shows the installation of the engine as well as a test drive. Hope you enjoy!
If I may be so bold to say you really need a wireless microphone to clip on your shirt and record from all angles so we don’t have to your backside. I love your content and your video length is awesome
Did you rotate the engine by hand a couple of times to see if the timing marks stay on time? When I did it to mine and the timing chain was off a tooth
After I replaced the Timing Chain Kit for My Chevrolet Equinox. Then, It appeared "Engine light" is on . Is it true that they messed up something in my car ? Now they diagnosed, the codes are below: P0014 Exhaust Camshaft Position System Performance P0137 HO2S Circuit Low Voltage Sensor 2 The machanic told me If I don't fix, The car will consume more gas. My questions: 1)If I don't fix them, Will there be any damage to other parts of the car ? 2) How long can I drive before I can afford to fix them? 3) what are the costs to fix those two codes ? Thanks a bunch
And engine still runs great to this day. If you break or bend a valve by turning the engine over by hand, then you are either superman or using a big breaker bar! Thanks for watching!
Excellent video!! My mechanic is replacing my timing chain with the motor in the car. I accidentally bought the water pump chain guides as extra parts, thinking they may be of value. Do you suggest installing them? They look rather simple to replace. I'm sure they are worn with 138K on the motor. The water pump was replaced under warranty at 28K, I cannot remember why. The mechanic is not replacing the water pump and accessories. Trying to save some money...
Replacing them now while you have it apart is a lot cheaper than risking them going out and having to pay your mechanic to do it again so yes I would recommend it. Thanks for watching!
