Thank you for that comment, currently buying a used one since I really wanan drive one but it's on good amount of miles (205050) but I know with a good maintance it can go for insane amount of miles, the one I wanna purchase looks very nice, wish me luck!
This video brings back so much memory. My first car was a 3-yr old 2010 pre-owned GLK350 with 50k km on the clock up in Canada as a college kid. Your final thoughts really touched me. Like you said, the car is so reliable, so relaxing to drive, and makes you focus more on the scenery and the life events that you drove it in. Such a shame that its successor, the Mercedes GLC lost that boxy look completely. Great video, Zack!
I’m daily driving a 2012 GLK and you’re spot on. No major issues and it’s at 130k (was bought at 30k miles). Such a great V6 and handling even against SUV’s today. The only annoy quirk is the turn signal stalk being so low on the steering column. And really hot seat heaters… ahhhh
I bought a left for dead 2013 GLK 350 4Matic for $500 that a local repair shop refused to fix because of the front input shaft u-joint issue. Mercedes wants you to replace the entire transmission. Well, I fixed it for $500 in parts and it is one amazing vehicle! It has 327,000 miles on it!
I just got a 2014 Black GLK 4matic and it has the same computer system as the 10 that you reviewed but I love it!!! I love, love, love driving it. It is smooth and comfortable and I have a 33 mile trip to work. I was so happy to hear this review about this model. Mine came ceramic coated as well. It handles great and definitely has spunk. Love my GLK.
I saw one of these when I was on a walk yesterday. It's really nicely packaged and still looks great even as style trends have changed. One of Mercs more simplistic models.
As an ex Benz tech, I can tell you firsthand that at 141000 miles, that thing should be on its 3rd set of motors mounts and in a 4matic that is a very expensive service. If the mounts have never been done, it's not doing it justice. They drive completely different with blown mounts.
Uh yah, she's needed new mounts for years. Since it's just a vibration, and is expensive, at least 2k-2.5k, I haven't done it. Cool to know it'd be a sweeter ride by far if I did do it.
In the future I'm gona buy Lexus and Toyota only, mi uncle hace a 96 corolla and still start at first, with 756000 km and he never replaces nothing, motor and transmission just keep running from factory, and I've seen Tundra with 1 million miles ez, definitely I'm go a buy a Toyota or Lexus in the future
Hey my 2012 GLK just suddenly lost power. I pulled over and now it won’t start. I’ve got a video if that will help you my fine ex Benz tech. I would appreciate any help
I bought my 2015 GLK during the pandemic and it was my ideal "Barbie dream car" lol. I love this car sooo much and it was always reliable. I recently graduated nursing school so I'm upgrading to a GLB
Love the video like always! I definitely agree with you about the memories, because I have been to so many fun places and done so many cool things in this car. I think the sport mode spices things up a bit, but I’m also a bit bias 😅
I’m a mb tech and the balance shaft issue was a no. Issue by the middle of 2007. There are several issue with this car. The biggest problem with them along with several other Benz models of this vitage is rust. They have the tendency to rot out their rear subframes and brake lines. I’ve seen even low mileage cars with completely rotted out subframes and brake lines. This issue started with 2010 models up until 2016. Other than that it has the usual mb issues such as motor mounts and oil leaks . I actually like this vehicle as it’s very useful .
ya you nailed it, our left rear brake line busted last summer on vacation in Michigan! Which was a good thing b/c I guess it was way cheaper in there in Petoskey to fix it than it would have been back home here in Chicago burbs. :)
Great review my dude! The monologue at the end about the car’s personality and how it fits in your life, reminded me a bit of regular car reviews (with your own unique twist!). Keep up the awesome work my dude!
Driving a 2012 GLK and no problems at all as of 2024. Good acceleration, braking and handling for an SUV. Only compliant is the MPG, but, it is paid for and has been reliable.
we've had ours for like 3 years and its been solid. Had to replace a door lock actuator ($900) and the key stopped working randomly and we were left stranded at the store and had to tow it home and get a new key ($300 + $100 tow) but other than that its been good. My C350 however has been FLAWLESS for 5 years
was the problem the key itself? or the ELS motor that locks and unlocks the wheel. I've seen that the ELS is a common failure point, and not a fun one to get.
@@Beastie_Boy33 it was the key. we knew it because the car wouldnt lock or unlock anymore or anything. if the car still locks and unlocks with the fob then the problem is the ESL
This has the centre mounted shifter, which I prefer. The later models got a column mounted electronic shifter which could take some time to get used to.
i like these a good bit but the engine is slow for the ratings and has a bad tendency of leaking oil. the suspension can get kinda sloppy and the seats rip very easily. it also has a massive similar style to the first generation highlander.
I'm a big fan of Mercedes-Benz. In fact, 2010 GLK 350 4MATIC is my choice which is due to how portable it is. Although, I don't have it yet. I'm up for someone to gift that Mercedes-Benz
Many European cars have a three position memory seat option…our Volvo’s also do. And let the owner know that the front seat leather can be replaced for under $300. Well worth it.
My parents own one of these, except it's white. However theirs does not have the backup camera. The seat is worn on the driver's side above the lumbar controls, where as this one is worn in the middle on the bottom cushion.
@@bngr_bngr My parents took it to the Mercedes-Benz dealer, and they said that there's no way to get a back-up camera installed, unless they go aftermarket (replace the rear view mirror)
@@tall_dude1233 my car is a 2013. The car was already wired for a camera. I just bought the OEM camera and installed it. Not sure which cars came pre-wired.
I didn't really like this era of Mercedes. The interior looked very Chrysler/Dodge like. For instance, If you look at the side driver and passenger air vents in the GLK, they look almost identical to the same vents in the 2007-11 Dodge Avenger.
Picked up a 2015 with 43k, wasnt on my radar at since Ive been in hondas all the way up to now. But started reading about it and test drove a few and it fills the need that someone may want a wagon and doesnt want a subaru/volvo. I drove an e350 wagon which has the same engine but found this to be just more what I wanted. i could care less its a Merc. I wanted a V6 Na engine and the engine bay is roomy.
Not a mention of the ESL issue. 2500$ and good luck getting an appointment. The esl failure will leave you stranded in the middle of the night in -10 degree temps.
Planning to buy a used one which is nicely maintained on around 205,050 miles guys if it's well maintained do you think it's a good idea? I've always wanted one but that's the price range I can afford at the moment.
I know this is a year old but I'm in the market for a pre owned SUV and I found one of these in beautiful condition with 140k miles for $6,700. Should I jump on it?
10:15 I can tell you just by looking at that ridiculous wing that the owner did not maintain that car. Mercedes can be pretty unreliable but alot of that can be chalked up to poor maintenance from owners and I'm 100% sure that C55 is no exception.
Reliable? I have a 2014 GLK350 that currently has 89,000 miles. I bought it 2 years ago and its been to the shop for repairs 5 times. ABS sensor, radio died, engine and transmission mounts, A/C compressor and a fuel leak.
@@amraa0525 I have no issues with the engine or the 7 speed transmission, it's everything else. Plus the fact that the interior is not holding up. I've had to replace the button caps for the power windows, the door locks, and the steering wheel because the coating wore off. For a premium car the interior holds up no better than a Nissan.
I was driving mine (2012) today and suddenly lost power. I pulled over and it refused to start. It tries to turn over but doesn’t start. Anybody wanna lend a brain? I have a short video of the situation if you want. Please help me I love this car.
I bought a c300 4maric this year I had to put at least $2000 into it my rear frame was rotten out and now I gotta replace my harmonic balancer and idle pulley I wouldn’t say mine has been that reliable but it does start and plus I way over paid for mine now I’m stuck with it
