As a Martial Artist that trains and teaches practical MMA, there are many great benefits from this style of Combat. Timing, distance, and creativity. Some of the worlds best pro MMA fighters are incorporating techniques and principles from this. And yes Noses and ribs get broken with this style of execution👊🏻My name is Greg Lara head instructor and owner of Battle Control Martial Arts in San Jose Ca. OSS
Yall people need to realise what they do is SPORT KARATE. Its a different style. Honestly we could argue olympic style taekwondo is crap, they only fight with their feet but thats a SPORT. I could say boxing is crap because in a real fight you can kick, and you can strike to the ground , but its a SPORT ... So to say point fighting is stupid or their techniques are sloppy, your arguements make no sense because these are SPORT MARTIAL ARTS
Agreed! On top of that? Guys like Raymond and Chandler DON'T HAVE TO BE SO DEFENSIVELY WARY VS THESE COMMENTS SECTION CHAMPIONS. Either one of the men above will shut these naysayers' lights out with these "stupid" techniques. And Olympians in TKD? Folks. They're. OLYMPIANS!!! They're not at all like regular mortals. They'll rocket 90 mph kicks IN COMBOS at you. Guess what? They punch, too! And without the rules, guess what else? They get to machine gun kick you in the calves, legs, groin, etc all they want to! Stop the hate crimes in this comments section, people. Thx.
If you think raymond daniels cant fight full contact you should simply google his name and read his full contact record 17-0 in WCL , second place in pro tkd
regardless....they are really good at what they do ! If you don't think those skills can't translate into good street fighting, think again. The speed and agility of these fighters would make them formidable in the streets. The application would be different !
@GamingPro2 It's karate not taekwondo. I saw Raymond at the compete tournament today I was in but he competed yesterday as he is a blackbelt and im a brown belt. He actually trains my sensei
@kekai25 its point fighting,it has little relevance to full contact fighting and these guys know that very well. They aren under any delusions of its effectiveness inself defense or anything. It is fun and much more acceptable to most students than fullcontact
But It aint street fighting, do you not realise that? Its point sparring (which I hate) Raymond Daniels has fought proper K1 matchs and all, I think he'd be able to handle himself on the street also, be a lil more open minded now!
They are very good without a doubt, but some very sloppy techniques too. Those lunge punches where he is almost horizontal in the air are a bit ridiculous.
